I would like the AI to evaluate if it's worth running to another unit and finishing it off if it's in range instead of just the nearest unit.

Do you have any examples? Also I think I'm was missing a sentence in my last reply. Brad was explaining the challenges with AI caused by magic, not the balancing act.

I've seen this for a while but it didn't really occur to me until I started playing with henchmen more. The scout ability is an army ability. Which sets the expectation that the ability applies to the entire army. This would make them a guide of sorts. I actually like the idea of a scout shuttling armies through dense forests. It is also something the AI can be told as well when it's deciding it's unit makeup. Thoughts?

Maybe something like Wild Magic. Strong but with a chance to back fire. For instance, with the Wild Magic buff you can cast any spell for free but each cast has a 20% chance to backfire and do damage based to the caster or an appropriate incorrect target. This could also spawn the creation of a Monster unit with the ability of Unstable Magic Field. Where there is a 50% chance of causing the backfire effect without the benefit of free spell casting.

The daughter of one of my former co-workers, who is 6 I think, just started posting Let's Play videos on Youtube. This has to be the funniest thing I've seen. The video opens up with "Welcome to Minecraft. Today I will show you how...to burn a dog." https://www.youtube.com/user/TheDannyDoom Just keep it clean if you decide to comment. Her parents monitor their kids account and won't hesitate to contact Y

Do you have more information? Save game, what file needs to be redownloaded. This will help Stardock identify the issue and be able to assist you.

I would say keep at it. If you know what your doing wrong make minor changes to your starting build to improve your early game. It's just like playing an RTS but you can take as long as you want to play your turn. Refine, refine, refine. Some tips I have: Don't over expand too early. At low difficulties you can get away with it but later on you need to strike a balance between expansion and unit production. What I learned from a Master level SC2 frien

I like the founders vault the most. I like to look at concept art and design documents. Maybe include more draw ups showing what was scrapped and why it doesn't work. Also, considering Stardock's reputation and that I buy most of my games at release I'm sure I'll be looking at a cost savings to get all the expacs and DLC free.

[quote who="ChungasRevenge" reply="4" id="3464876"] I have had (still having) fun with AOW3 but it is nothing like FE. I have put 400+ hours into the various flavours of elemental, I will be lucky to clock up 50 on AOW3. Having said that I see AOW3 more like a successor to the original Warlords. Conquer city's or convince independents to join, build army and smash the opponent. I hardly ever bother with the tactical gameplay, usually selecting auto-result. The recent big patch did h

Honestly, they are different games with a similar theme. AoW3 is still pretty good. It has it's flaws but so did Elemental. Personally, I prefer hexagon games and the combat mechanics in AoW3 are done much better. LH's strategic layer, though could still use work, is much better than AoW3. Honestly, I don't think MoM is the ruler to be measured against anymore. If you play it again you will notice that LH has the feel of a modern day MoM. I look forward to seeing Ele

I build it in my first Fort, which is generally the first city I try to create but there is sometimes exceptions. The growth bonus is nice but the ignore # of city of unrest modifier is what makes it great for a fort city since they tend to be your main unit production centers.

Umm, curious about something? Did the CEO even have a say, or was even aware of the details, in the decision to use substandard methods to protect their customers. My wife works for Target and she is getting screwed out of hours because someone made the call to use some free software protection for security of a multi-million(billion?) dollar company. While I don't mind seeing a CEO being forced to step down but I rather see the guy who made the decisions also canned. <

So, I made it a goal this weekend to sit down and actually try to figure out this Crusader Kings II thing. I've had it for a while but I just couldn't wrap my head about it and wanted to know what the fuss was. I had some extra money sitting around on PayPal when I sold some console games so I snatched up the Old Gods DLC. This will forever be known as the day my soul was lost. I sat and paid attention to what was happening. I began in a war so I just stomped

Generally the AI programmer is not going to be involved in the cosmetic DLC options after the game has been shipped. Honestly, I never buy DLC expecting new challenges. I buy it for new sparkle ponies and such. Besides, if the DLC further balanced the game or improved the AI the argument on the forums is "Why do we have to pay more to fix a broken game?" I challenge one person to disagree without lying out their ass.

I honestly think the problem isn't that magic is over powered, it's the concept of mana that is. Sorry going to be rushed an unformatted here. I appologize. I'm currently working on my own 4 X game. I've been currently looking at this puzzle as I design the combat system. I want to see what it's like to approach it with mana being a scare but powerful resource. Each node will give 1 - 3 mana points. Those mana points can be used to c

Impulse was sold to Gamestop. If you download the Gamestop App you should have all of your content and be able to download from them. If you really wanted to that is.

Anyways, don't sweat it too much primal lol was just fun to screw around. I'm taking a break from reading my level designer code after putting it down for a while. I finish school this quarter and need to keep myself occupied.

After all the time I've spent playing I have actually started reading the unit histories. These shrills are said to be constructs made by Morrigan the Mad, in the laboratories of N'it'Vaganesh - his attempts to manufacture monsters to rival the giant spiders that the Titan Curgen kept at his beck and call. The Earth shrill derives its power from the Earth Shard. Their mandibles are potent magical reagents; practicing al
