Thanks for the info, we're looking into it. It's a similar crash to what we've been getting reported, we just need to figure out why it's happening.

Alright guys, let's not flame each other. It sucks that we're losing customers. It sucks that there's bugs in the game we spent so much time, effort, ideas, dreams, etc.. on. But all we can do is keep working to resolve the issues as we find the causes. We do care that once loyal fans now question us. We do care that we got tore up in reviews after coming off the high review average of the gal civ 2 games. You know? It sucks, but for those of you that

thanks for the info. We're looking into it in conjunction with what others have posted. They seem to all be stemming from a similar issue.

Sure, but if you could just check a directory for me and look for a crashdump file, as instructed in that link I sent ya. If any are there, post them please. (instructions pasted from that sticky thread, for convenience) If you have a crash, please check your program data folder for a zip file which will be named something like Elemental1_0-2010-08-26T11-11-06-474 and post it using dropbox or a similar service. On Windows XP: C:\Docume

In order for your post to help us track down the crash, we'll need to get a bit more info from you. Check out this sticky post ( https://forums.elementalgame.com/391297 ) for the information you should give us. Thanks man.

NOTE: I know this is an older post, but just for clarity, I wanted to reply. Yes, it does it automatically. For the curious, how it works is this: On start-up of the game (ie. while the splash screen is up) if it determines any of the games XML files have been changed from what was used when the data.zip file was created (or the data.zip file is missing), it will load in all the XML and recreate the data.zip. Otherwise it just loads in the straight binary d
Don't know if I'm missing it, but I'd love to be able to hover over a unit/city and know to which faction it belongs. Or at least when clicking on it, put the faction in as one of the details that is shown.
When you hover over a unit or a city, the infocard that pops up in the bottom right hand side of the screen has their race logo on it. Also, if a unit or city is actually selected, the selection context area on the righ
PS. You mentioned notifying SD on issues like this. Since this was kind of a bug does it go in the support section.
Yeah, in general, do try to put the posts in the correct section of the forums. It just makes it easier for me to say, not go to the "suggestions" section of the forums when I'm just looking to squash a bunch of bugs from the forums on a particular day. In this case though, the ori
Vengeance II does work, but it is a passive ability, so there is no mana cost. It just doubles the damage when you counter attack. As a result, the familiar has mana that it doesn't use.
Ahh, roger that. I will look into giving them an appropriate mana-costing ability then.

Awesome post! Fixed some things from it for 1.09 (coming soon).
HF108_unittype_ChampionRoyalty.xml && HF108_abilitybonusChampionRoyalty.xml - Very rarely champions would appear with the Royalty background, that did nothing. Fix: These NPCs will now provide their stationed town with a +33% prestige modifier.
This has been fixed for 1.09. There were several abilities that were originally only used for Sovereign abilities, but somewhere along the l
I was wondering similar things too. There is also a few summons (familiar at least, possibly others) that have essence, but nothing to spend the essence on.
I looked in our source control software, and as far back as our release date, the summoned unit called Familiar (located in CoreSummonedUnits.xml) has been pointing to an ability bonus option called "Vengeance2", and that ability bonus option has been defined in CoreAbilit
Success! I figured how to fix it. Unit abilities are defined in CoreAbilities.xml. There, every ability consists of one or several AbilityBonusOptions (for example, Clarity has several versions that regenerate 1, 2 or 3 mana). Well, what was wrong was that internal name for AbilityBonusOption for IceBlast is IceBlastAbility, not IceBlast. So changing Ice Lord's SelectedAbilityBonusOption tag to use "IceBlastAbility", in

Thanks for the post. I have fixed the issue internally and it will make it into a future update. In the meantime I want you to know (if you don't already) that you can freely rotate the camera on your own by using the middle mouse button (or pushing down on the mouse wheel) and moving the mouse to rotate. You can also turn off the feature of the camera switching views when you go in/out of city build mode by toggling on/off the "Enable City Build Mode Zoom" under the
