First off, always make sure you have the latest drivers for your particular card. You'd be amazed at the number of crashes that are "fixed" by having the player update his gfx card drivers. Having said that, recently we've gotten a few reports from people who have just downloaded the game for the first time, and get a crash upon trying to start it. In a lot of cases they have an nVidia card in their laptop with a technology called Optimus, or an ATI card with a tech called ATI

I have found that people with ATI cards have similiar issues. ATI has a technology called ATI PowerPlay, which is the same as nVidia Optimus, but ATI's version. Again, it is a battery-saving technology meant to switch back and forth between the good gfx card (for gfx-intense tasks) and an onboard card (for 2D stuff, which uses less battery). It can cause the same issues with start-up crashes. If you are having such and issue, you nee
Hardcore achievement poped up and i haven't play for 40 hours. I forgot to say that when i reached 40 hours i got it normally. The first time was greyed out.
Steam has an achievement progress notification feature that we use in LH, for these long drawn-out achievements. The notification you saw was probably not that the achievement unlocked, but that you were at a certain threshold, such as 50%, towards unlocking it. The fact that it was still gra

For the curious, this issue has been resolved via email conversation. In the end, it was determined that he was missing files that should have come from the installer and placed in the appropriate places. A full uninstall of the game, a reboot of the machine, and then a full install of the game solved the issue. Just wanted to put it out there in case anyone else had the issue and was reading this thread for a solution.

Awesome! We're glad you're up and running. If I had to guess, given the list of things you did, uninstalling nVidia drivers and then installing just the newest ones may have been the steps that fixed it. I'm thinking that by doing so, Optimus is probably turned off now, or fixed in an update. I've heard the Optimus drivers have been buggy in the past.

There's another user having crashes a few seconds into the game. In his case, he had the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560M card, which also has the Optimus tech. As you probably know, Optimus basically decides whether you need to use the Nvidia card (for gfx-intense stuff), or the integrated card (better battery life for less intensive tasks). It switches automatically for you. My thought is that this switching could interfere with the game and cause it to crash. <

Your notebook comes with a technology called Nvidia Optimus: http://www.geforce.com/hardware/technology/optimus/technology In a nutshell, it's meant to give you a gfx-processing boost when needed, or conserve battery power when possible. It switches for you automatically. It's possible that it's deciding to switch back and forth while you are running the game. This could b

In the cases where you've cast Wither on a target and it leads to a crash, is Wither bringing them down to 0 attack, and does the crash happen when you mouse over them? If yes, then we do have that fixed internally. If not, let me know.

As far as the guys taking strategic damage that brings them down to 0 hp and they do not die, we do have that fixed here at the office. But for the tactical poison effect not killing, that's the first I've heard of it. GfireflyE, are you sure that guy wasn't immune to poison or have some kind of heal charm? Any other details you can give me would be appreciated.

I just tested this here, and while the tooltip for the Rush button wrongly displays the value of the unit who was originally first in the queue, you are charged the correct amount of gildar for the unit you actually rush.
