Hi, I've been having trouble downloading and updating Fallen Enchantress. I've downloaded it several times but I always get corruption errors. I extracted the installer and found the following corrupted files: Minicut_scrapyard.bik MapTheme5_BG.mp3 If someone could upload those to dropbox and send me the link I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks.
I would love for it to go one of either two distinct paths, either the Final Fantasy Tactics route or the Dominions 3 route. .
Couldn't agree more. I prefer the former but would settle for the latter, which is probably much easier to balance from the development standpoint. I know that FE is a massive improvement over WOM but there is still a very long way to go in my opinion. I hope Stardock will be able to slow down
I couldn't get the beta to start until I disabled ATI tray tools. Just thought I would pass that tip along to anyone that was having trouble getting started. Feel free to leave any other tips you might have with regards to this issue.
I'd like to see these three or some variation on them. However, others enjoy faster and simplistic tactical battles. I doubt we'll see something like this unfortunatly.
I posted here about how I would fix the improvements: https://forums.elementalgame.com/415634
I like the idea of fewer, upgradable improvements and keeping cities small rather than sprawled across the map just so troops can travel a bit faster. Still doesn't make placing buildings more than an additional click as far as I gathered though.
ZehDon's idea: building harmony, where similar purpose buildings work better together. Very cool, very feng shui. (As long as there were UI hints when placing builds which tiles were beneficial and which were bad.) It's also interesting because you could make subtle changes in the harmonies for the races. Which would give cities built by different races a different look.
Nice post. Looking forward to giving the beta a go.
I never liked impulse and I like it even less nos tha gamespot is in charge. I only have a few titles there that were not on steam. I like having all my stuff in one place. I hope stardock goes with steam or back to stardock central.
SimCity 4 is my favorite. The only mod you need is one that focuses on transport. I forget the name, but it is fairly popular and you should be able to find it.
Flanking, LOS, terrain, etc, are all interesting concepts. But there's also some meat and potatoes here that are easy to overlook because we take them for granted. How about the AI just freaking healing a hurt unit? Or slowing down a charging unit? If you want to talk about the design of tactical battles, that's Derek's thing. I can say, IMO, that I am not keen on tactical battles being the d
But the Unit Design (ship Editor) in Galciv 2 was awsome and it was made by Stardock so they can make a good one.
I put a lot of hours into Galciv 2 but the ship editor was just an annoyance for me. It was nice if you wanted to play legos but I am more interested in a strategy game. I hated having to go back into it every few turns to upgrade to whatever +1 weapon upgrade I recently got. Not muc
I like the idea of a 'teleportation sickness' debuff that puts you at a disadvantage if you intend to fight in the next few turns.
There's not much that can be said on this top that hasn't been already. Hopefully the major issues will be addressed this time. I'll definitely be more skeptical of Stardock's hype with FE as well.
Looks like an amazing basis for a game but maybe not a well fleshed out game in itself.
I agree with a lot of the other comments. The spells are definitely an improvement over WoM but still doesn't seem to be up to par with some of the older fantasy 4x games. I'd love for FE to be a great game but the pre-release hype WoM and its subsequent failure has already largely destroyed my faith in Stardock. Again, I'd love to be proved wrong.
I'm thinking teleport type spells should only be in the game if the AI both uses and knows how to counter. Otherwise it's just an unfair advantage for the player.
Brad made a big deal during the WoM beta about how nothing could go into the game if the AI couldn't handle it. Looks like that still hasn't manifested even so long after release.
I won't be able to play. Sorry.
I have already sent my picks, sorry for not responding faster. But, isn't this supposed to be a n00b game? I see a lot of technical talk about SC rush, sacreds, etc. As true n00bs, you should pick units and pretenders according to how much like their pictures. You should roleplay as much as possible, not caring much about losses and wins. And most importantly - you absolutely have to make obvious blunders! That, and much more I expect
Looks interesting. In what sense is it supposed to be sandbox? From what I read on the blog the current version consists of a few missions. Is their eventually going to be open world play in the style of Space Rangers 2 or Freelancer?
Hopefully I'm not the only one who has no idea what a Jarl rush is.
I've been dealing with a bandwidth cap for the last year. I can use 6GB a day. It's very frustrating especially if you want to use digital distributed software or stream movies/television. Most of my digital software downloads are done at work and the moved home using an external hard drive.
This looks amazing. Thanks!
I've been holding off on getting this because I've heard it has poor AI. Hopefully that will change come this patch.
I'll play. I've only played singleplayer before and I'm sure I'll get conquered quickly.
