Also, Kenwebb, your ships are fantastic. I think I've read this whole thread, and I like almost everything posted.

All of my battleships here use large hulls; all use DL parts without Kryo's mod. The most powerful battleship in the Terran Allied Systems Navy is the Harrisburg-Class, which is designed to operate in powerful fleets intended to hold territory. General
I've definitely seen minor races equipping hulls with more than one or two guns, so you never know. Frogboy may say it can't, but perhaps his AI has evolved and is preparing to take over the United States military system.
The AI does a generally poor of evaluating your military strength compared to its own. It's a pity, because it never seems completely prepared. This is with DA 1.4
This is really interesting and well-written, but as you said, I think you've neutered the AI so much that this is almost a little on the boring side. Still a good read though.
Yeah, Spore sounds like it'll cover this relatively well.
Generally, I keep populations to 15 million, and after researching and building what trade goods I can, I keep taxes around 70% with approval around 75%.
While I think it's fine the way it is, I wouldn't mind if we had the ability to tell the AI to get its transports out of our territory. I'd also appreciate a pact preventing other navies from operating in my territory without paying me something.
perhaps you don't have those researched?
I really like the idea behind this event, but I always reload whenever I get it, because the ships slow my game down and just too much of a hassle to have to deal with. I wish they'd either make powerful fleets instead or just get rid of the ships.
So. I won't be upset if the answer is "no," but does this mean that the epic-generator has stayed?
Right. That's why you either move trade-routes before you declare war on another civilization, or you don't declare war on them. Trade is a reason to have peaceful relations.
When you're building items in the shipyards, you're spending more money because you are paying for the production of the ship. That's how it's always seemed to me. If you focus on something you're not using and build nothing on the planet, you spend the least amount of money per-planet. There's also maintenance to consider, and that cost can go up quite a bit.
Man, I didn't preorder, but you folks sure are some of the nicest people I know.
Yup, select a ship and click "details."
What, specifically, are you having problems with? Where are you falling behind? When are you falling behind? What type of galaxies are you playing on?
Play the skirmish mode. I love this game, but not the campaign.
This is excellent, I'm really looking forward to seeing it continue.
It's weird, because it's usually a majority or a very few number of civs using them in each game I play. It is interesting how the AI seems to act differently for each player.
I use mass-drivers almost exclusively. First, I find that in most games I play, the AI develops missiles and beam weapons; it is rare that I encounter another civilization using mass-drivers. This provides them, them, with a level effectiveness courtesy of their exclusiveness. Second, they are inexpensive and generally significantly lighter than missile-based counterparts, although they have much less firepower. This is important to me because, as I focus primarily on defense for my
To vengeance? There was a sequel; it was called Red Sun.
Yes, I've played both, although only ever owned Vengeance (which I would really like to have back). I'd desperately love to see a sequel made, and a ship pack would be great, but it'd be extremely hard to do, considering how difficult it is to even get a good long look at the ships. Fantastic game though.
1st: Unfortunately, there is no way to select all of a specific type of ship or send all ships of one type to a certain area. You can work around this however; select the planets building said specific ship and set them all to send vessels to one specific rally. 2nd: If you go into the ships/planets list and click the arrows enough times, eventually you can sort by orbit, which I assume means whether a ship is in orbit or not, although I rarely use this feature. Is this what you wer
Considering this is a game by a small developer, is fairly inexpensive, even includes the feature which has basically no gameplay value at all (although I like it), I'd be happy with it. I tend to switch between normal and full. As far as system requirements go, I'm pretty sure it has more to do with the complexity of this game than the battle scenes.
I generally select neutral because it allows me to focus less on research. Building a large number of research facilities does not fit with my strategy, and I do not want to gain a very significant research-advantage. So, it allows me to focus on production and my economy (medium maps), and keep up with research without overpowering my enemies.
