It can be a lot of fun to lose. With that in mind, I recently played a game where I was in a similar situation. I owned four planets and was fighting a war against the Thalan Empire, which had approximately 66% of the galaxy and 30 planets under its control. I managed to stave off defeat with five combat ships left and reorganize my trade routes so as to build the strongest possible relations, and, eventually, an alliance with the Arceans, Iconians, and Altarians, all of whom

easiest way to defend a starbase is to put a fleet of ships on it. While this is true, I have several issues with it. 1st: I play on medium maps, and generally do not build enough fleets that I am willing to tie several down defending starbases. 2nd: Roleplaying. A lot of people play this game because they like the science-fi

It's very sad. I remember that, while playing one of my first games, before pirates were nerfed, I encountered them. They annihilated my most powerful fleets -- let me tell you, it was quite a wrench in my plans. Nowadays, I can often just send a single fighter to deal with them.

The Korx, for example, are terrible at research. Here's a question revolving around that, which is not specifically directed at you: Is there a specific modifier giving different civilizations weaker abilities in some situations? I know that some civilizations are being described as being weak in some areas, but I don't see anyth

You will be happy to note, however, that the Company will suffer no financial loss on the current cargo, as per Sec54, paragraph D, of your contract, the cost of the cargo will be deducted from your wages, and any remaining balance will be billed to your families. In addition, Galaxywide Package Service requires that you make a short stop-over on

First of all, I prefer playing with medium galaxies. 1. If you're using Ion Drives, it is possible to fit three, if I remember correctly. You need to sacrifice range, but range probably is not as important as speed. 2. It really depends on what I want to do. 3. A high population is important for reasons besides tax-income. I prefer lots of stock markets (but not so many that I sacrifice production or research), but I combine them with a high population. A large p

If cutting this feature means better gameplay, I think it's hard to argue against removing it. This is a nice feature, but I can't imagine people would be too terribly excited about using it. The fun would probably pass. I'm going to go with the "log things" side of this. Unless the logging is the problem.

Honestly, they need to remove this event because it slows the game down way too much and the "vengeance" ships do absolutely nothing. If they changed it to replace the little ships with a few powerful fleets, that'd be hot.

Misaniovent, maybe I'm doing something wrong, but I've never gotten my minors to use gifted ships. Maybe I'm not trying often/hard enough. I guess I could gift them more planets (shudder)... Is that the trick? Are yours building starbases in any sort of rational way? Honestly, I don't remember how I convinced them to use their ships. It took the

The Super Dominator ability sounds very weak; do the Corvettes scale to match current technology levels? At the same time, Super Organizer sounds like it is should be very powerful. How is it balanced?

Excellently said. As a sidenote, I've noticed that while the Scottlingas in my current game let ships remain in my systems for a while, they eventually moved them out and docked them. They have a pretty effective and powerful military at this point, which I did jumpstart by giving them good quality planets and a number of ships and techs. They are now #2 in the galaxy, over the Arceans and Thalans. At the same time, this is very very rare. I'd like to see the

I've had this problem often also. I haven't noticed it recently, but it has definitely happened to me with the current update. I play medium and large games and have 1.5 GB of ram and a fair amount processor power, so I don't suspect that memory has a whole lot to do with it, although I may be wrong. I never mentioned this issue before, but I'd certainly love to see it fixed.

People who don't think relationships can exist over the internet are foolish -- relationships are built on communication and interaction, and the internet provides both of those things. So sorry about your loss.

It's not the sharpest idea in the world to be an early adopter of any technology, honestly. I really hope Sony doesn't take too much flack for this not being totally perfect; anybody who expects the PS3 to be flawless right now is foolish.
