I second that : play in non-fullscreeen. You'll be able to use jing (and it works really well :))

I use the zoom out/in (like in supreme commander) to "scroll" through the map. That strategic zoom will become a must-have in any strategy game nowadays :)
There will be soon a stickied post from the dev about bugs already discovered. There's a post that sorted everything : https://forums.elementalgame.com/364419
I shouldn't have answered to the survey : I said the game didn't crash .. and after taking the survey ... it crashed 4 times in a row, then now I can't finish a game. I always have a crashing bug :P
Same here http://www.screencast.com/users/vieuxchat/folders/Jing/media/b706a9ff-3071-4d21-917b-355d39656149
The double click to move isn't abnormal : HoMM has always used it (one click to see the path, then a click to accept the movement)
I also got that bug.
Yep, you can see on the bottom "Tiles left" or something like that, when you click on your city.
Each Tile has 4 places to put buildings. The first buildng you place will "choose" which tile will be available for further buildings.
I reproduce the exact same thing. I launched a new game, with default settings, then moved the sovereign one square, then saved. Then loaded the game. Sovereign duplicated. The old one can't move.
I didn't find any town or army list. It's a bit hard to keep track of every city/army when you get lots of them. A list, like in civ, would be more than usefull.
I like the way the model on the unit customization screen reacts to new equipment, like almost dropping the sword, etc when you change his equipment. I also like the cloth map, I hope they leave it as an option in final.
hum .. wait ... you see changes when you equip new stuff ? When you create a new blueprint of warrior ?
I found this : mouse on north edge --> move north mouse on the North-East edge and then it will go NE mouse on E edge then it goes W mouse on W and it does nothing mouse on south won't do anything unless you put the mouse in the center (between the two white panels)
It's really a pain to create a new warrior because the word "equipped" appears at the end of the item like "leather armor - equipped" : when you have a long name, the word "equipped" doesn"t appear. Maybe in a latter build the doll will be equipped with what we are giving to the warrior, but at the moment it's really hard to know what items are equipped. We really need a summary.
Yep ... me too ... I need to change camera angle to select the right spot.
How many players should/can we allow in a game? 8? 12? 32? How sophisticated can we make dungeons in the game? How sophisticated can we make quests in the game? How sophisticated can we make tactical battles in the game? How big of a scope can we give the campaign?
Isn't 32 players a bit too much? They wouldn't have the time to play an entire game and .. Oh well .. what am I saying? Who are we to stop people
I used to be a huge fan of the Mechwarrior series, but alas, I've been spoiled utterly rotten by Steel Battalion: Line of Contact. I wish I could say I was excited about this news, but I'm sure it'll have that same watered-down "mass appeal" they tried to achieve with later entries in the series and Mechassault. Here's hoping for a full-blown sim, with the deepest customization options yet! /wishful thin
Option 4 is a must have O_o
In my mind it should be option 1, but largely automated. I think that the problem is not between option 1 and 2, but we should have a fairly sophisticated system you can easily use. As a player I just want to say to the comp "I want sword +2 in the town of Blablabla", then it calculates all the things you need. And a caravan UI would let you tinker with what the comp porposed to you, in order to enhance the placement of the caravans. So, if I have ressources like horse
You should try th emultiplayer. The gameplay is just excellent, but you're right about the solo experience. But in multiplayer it's really different. Things like invisibility become more important than ever.
Fact is that TBS games are win-to-win. The more you win, the more chances you have to win. There's little things done to balance players that got a lightning start. In civ4, you often know in the first quarter of the game the two players that still compete for victory. Some ways to prevent this : - Events, like flood, volcano, disease. A bigger empire should have bigger chances to get "bad" events, or the bad events should hit them harder. - Upkeep. Bigger empire, bigg
I found that for you : http://www.ti3wiki.org/index.php?title=The_Complete_Newbies_Guide_to_PBeM And the overall wiki should answer any question you may have ;)
Yep you can play TI with PBF (play by forum) but i've never done it and so can't really help you. A module for Vassal exists. Anyway Luckman when do you make your home move? I don't mean you're a turtle or something like that ... but lacking social entertainment in life is just .. so cruel ...
