Holy unconscious expectations, Batman! The farm tile just 'naturally' seemed like the first instance in a series like you describe. The Mushroom Field is an especially neat idea.
Not really I think. In galciv2 a soecial tile could recieve a building that didn't fit best (a production center on a tile that gave bonuses on tech for example) In elemental you can't build anything else than a farm on a farm spot.

Infinite research : you want a kingdom that doesn't need to pay its soldiers ? Use A LOT of your time researching that tech that gives an army cost bonus ... You don't want to be ever short on food. Ever ? Just research A LOT farming bonus. etc. Even if you "finished" a technology, you can still get bonuses grom researching with it.
Oh .. I thought I read somewhere it was intended like that ... thanks for the lighting :)
It's a feature. You'll see the same thing for housing, civilization, etc.
I hope magical creatures will have magic upkeep.
Farms can't be built before hamlet state, that's a feature. But your second bug is a real one.
OR maybe the merging of cities could cost you something before getting a so huge city ;) You would still have "lost" the essence needed to crete the second city. Or maybe it could the only way to get "super"-city ? Anyway, merging should a player choice, not an automatic one.
And why not the perk system of Fantasy Wars/Elven legacy ? They don't transform a unit in a powerhouse, but they give some bonus on certain occasions (like being able to poison weapons, to get a bonus against armored units, more sight, seeing invisible units and so forth) And i'd really like somethnig like : some stats grow automaticaly, then you have few points (or 0.1 points) to put where you want (like in sacred 2). the fact is : if you don't have choices on
Dev said that they want to let the player choose between a sovereign like sauron (big and powerfull) or like a simple human but multiple towns, a lot of servants etc. So it would be hard to lose someone like Sauron, you would need to properly defend a "simple human" sovereign. So the sov die = end game is a good idea. You have to make choices. There should be only one way to prevent dieing : putting essence in an item (like Sauron ;)) then if you die, you have to succe
When you start the game, on the bottom left you can see the version (in the screeen where you can choose to start a skirmish, load/save, etc.)
In the description of an inn you can see that it attracts heroes ;)
Really ? Oh well I meant "all in all i'm getting some fun-ny bugs" .. [e digicons]O:)[/e]
The game is significantly more stable. Several more games and no crash [e digicons][/e] Roads work as intended, the bug with mouse is still annoying (it doesn't click where you want it to click), but all-in-all i'm getting some fun [e digicons]:(O[/e]
Has anyone found a way to "mod" the game without deleting original files ? I would like to change the see tile without overwriting the original one ...
But for many people, you don't need a challenge to entertain yourself. Just look at sims -___- Anyway, Cris Taylor said something right, I think : why developping end-game features if noone will see them beacause of the difficulty ? Why would you be punished for being .. bad at games ?
Yeah, I dont want to use color everywhere, since it's really supposed to be a raw (but somewhat fancy) display of the necessary data. If anyone really wants their oceans blue, theres a pretty easy-to-edit png file that should get the job done It could be our first official mod You called? Anyone who wants blue oceans can either edit the file themselves or just put this in C:\Program Files\Stardock Games\Elemental\Gfx .
</p
You should use the "sight 100" unit, in order to see the whole map on turn 2 :)
lol We'll be putting this in later...I fear it's bad luck/mojo/karma to put in a 'this game is so great it needs this' feature when the game is far from greatness. We'll make the game addictive first, then put in the alarm clock when you've played for 8 hours straight
Only 8 hours straight? You're not a true civ4-player [e digicons]O:)[/e]
Oh yeah ! I second that. In civ 4 it was just a must-have for .. my wife :P Beacuase without it I would forget to get a life [e digicons][/e]
Yep, and the survey should be re-done .. cause I have understood that I can't finish a game with the fallen ones ;) If I play with the not-fallen humans I can finish games. So my answers would be different this time.
You can only buid farms with a level 2 city.
