In Elemental, in my testing of pre-beta 2, there's a real question of whether you necessarily need to build a city right away because the NPCs are pretty important.
Well it would be nice if you expanded on that a little lol. But it does beg the question, why not throw down a city and get it started and then run around and do the other stuff? Was pretty standard in Beta 1, once the city was founded no point keeping the sov home.

The Infocom games were purely Text based adventures. Think Choose You own adventure Books with alot more power. They were also Incrediably well written and very difficult at times. But it brings back memories of the days when games didn't have graphics to survive on. You wrote a good game with a good story or it sunk. Two I never beat were Trinity and Leather Goddes of Phobos. But I was 12 then (Mabey younger) and didn't realize the clues that were hidden with the material that
I don't have a problem with games going to console. The problem is when the developers are designing a cross platform game that they claim won't be a port but clealry were keeping the limitations of the conosles in mind when they made it. Graphics, GUI, the lack of camera control, not a lot of settings... so many things come up in these cross platforms titles. Speaking as a Wii player as well as a PC gamer, some of these publishers/

This would lead me to believe that it is not very popular.
Not saying they are wrong. but I wonder how many of these people just suck ass as bad as I do at it. First time I qualified Silver. If my thousand-troop legion of swordsmen and my thousand-troop legion of archers takes 2000 tiles just to field, what room is going to be left on the map?
LOL You know Tcores that most likely a squad will take up a tile, or a legion will take up a tile. Most likely it will based on the way you build your troops. so that each unit
Quoting kyogre12, RTS's have a long history of sucking on consoles, and I don't think Halo Wars is any exception. They pale in comparison to PC RTS's (take your pick; Sins of a Solar Empire, C&C (before it went downhill), Starcraft, Supreme Commander (not 2), etc). The controls don't adapt well to consoles. However, I think the Wii could be the console to change that, if anyone bothered to try. The Wii remote, in

Actually IIRC it was labeled as Turn Based, then it was said it would be CT, then it was changed back to TB. Again I could be incorrect. I know when I pre-ordered I was under the assumption that it was TB. And later I found/read it was going to be CT. The whole CT thing for me was a major let down, but it will be what it will be. (Granted I can say this now because I am happy that it went back to TB. If the shoe was on the other foot I am not as sure I
i read somewhere that it will be possible to make a completely diffrent game just from the editor, if i am not mistaken, you gave the example of how you plan on making an RTS mod. beside the fact that this is very impressive, how will you handle indie developing groups wanting to use the editor as a developing platform? will you go the blizzard way of letting people sell their mods and take percentage? will there be some way of purchasing c

Hey Raven in your suggestion post, do you have a section for the options we want attached to the combat engine? I mean options like the ability to limit time of tactical, turn auto resolve on or off, meta-mechanic like options. Because it seems to me if we had a thread like" When it comes to combat what options do you want included" it might help the Devs build it. Example would be a screen at the very begginging of the game that went with the screens Grphics/Aud

I recently downloaded MoM for my nostalgia kick. And I'll admit I am loving it, 3 am rolled around and I didn't want to go to bed. But it did get me thinking about one very big pitfall in the 4x genre while I was getting my ass handed to me last night. And that is the must build start. I'll give you a great example from MoO2 since I haven't remembered what the order was for MoM yet. When my brother and I play MoO2 there are 2 techs that <span

You know I guess it is an immersion thing, But I can say that I never ever really associated a real time frame with turns in any TB games I played unless they put in seasonal effects. Combat taking place over multiple turns wouldn't bug me, in fact I love the idea. I just have trouble understanding not doing it becuase some pre defined 1 turn = 1 year thing. Personal thing but I would hate to see an idea as good as multiple turn combat go out the window because of something li
