Personally at this point I don't care if the world is done in pastels. As long as it it gets us off this damn cloth map and gets us some sort of color/animation/graphics they can all look like smurfs. Bah no Beta 2 today. Think my disapointment is obviously showing. I want to tear nto the engine and start seriously start adressing balance and spell/building/research mechanics.

You know frogboy. If you turned these toys loose a little early and set up a submission area in the forums or site. You guys would probably get some truly amazing things that could be added in pre release. Hell thinking about people like Raven you would probably have almost 2 new expansion ready before release.

Yeah honestly the volcano Idea scares me. While iI have no problem witht he concept per se. I would hate to see my capitol city just wiped of the map from a player on the other side of the map with no chance to foil it. My armies not so much, annoying but they can be rebuilt.

I bought Settlers 7. Had a service interuption one day for 12 hours. Couldn't Play Settlers 7 I will never buy a Always on DRM game again. While I support their attempts to try and protect their property. I cannot support this method.

Well my problem was I had 4 gigs of ram plus another gig of video ram. Add to that the 4 gig I have in my garage that I hadn't bother putting in yet thanks to 32 bit capping me at 3 gigs after video. The upgraded OS is a rather large boost to my rig.

While I generally don't like to rain on parades here and have been holding back mostly waiting to see how things look in beta 2. I have a few issues with the general format of the tech trees in general. I understand that you were trying to go for a unique and different approach. But I find the random popping up of certain must get techs like "Houses" to be incrediably anti-fun. Especially when I have to research Civics 3 times just to get the tech I was after in the fir

Yes I can't wait for the 64 bit, just went out last weekend and upgraded to Win 7 so I could switch to a 64 bit system. I can now actually use my gig of video ram plus all 4 gigs of ram... Bring It On Baby!!!!
Similar Concept, Different Execution: Each Tech Category has Research Buildings Research Buildings Generate General and Typed RPs ... and use the same Building slot Pool Example: Imagine two buildings, which sit at the same tier in the War & Civics field: the war academy and the civil service academy: War Academy +5 Research +5 War Research +1 Magic Research<b

Also another drawback to the constant rebuilding is that in my example the building themselves do more than just produce RP's, they also provide a basic function. So if you were to decide you wanted to research magic and focus on that. You rip out all but farms, houses, and magic producing buildings. This would also mean you have no Material Production, Gold Production, Prestige, Army Production, yadda yadda. It might be a viable specilization, I think in practice though as pigeon said

Well while I like the idea of protecting our armies from SMD's (Actually I really don't but it is good for balance lol). If we want to have real specialization mattering then a player that specializes in Magic with strong magic but weak armies should be equal to a player that specializes in Warfare with a huge army but weak magic. So yeah agree that we need some form of army protection but I am not sure a weak caster should be able to defend against a strong caster just like you

After playing MoM again one of the things I love is how unit abilities make the units feel different. And I know alot of us are wondering if and if so, what, kind of unit abilities we are going to get with our little men. So what are the abilities you have seen in other games that you love. Things like First Strike, Armor Peircing, Immunities, Poison Breath, ect ect Another Idea would be what if abilities like First Strike were researchable in the Warfare Tree and Ma

This was an idea that I posted in another thread but on further reflection i like it and think that it goes beyond the Original Posts scope Or here, this is an even more radical idea. WE all know that so far it seems that EWOM has alot of redundant building in place. Why not change each tech tree to having it's own specific set of research buildings... Examples Baracks and

I think we can all for the most part agree that the tech tree need some serious work as things stand in Beta 1Z. Granted we are not seeing what they have in Beta2 yet which I will admit at this point is very frustrating. Something like those nice long patch notes we used to get pre release would be nice to start from. As for everyone getting basic techs at certain threshholds. That is definitely a unique idea with some serious merit. It even has real world examples. New
I guess they started with RTS, because it's "in fashion", used in most contemporary games. And later they realized that they are making a game for TBS fans, and they should use a tactical combat system that appeals to them. Btw can someone explain to me what's the difference between CT and "normal" RTS?
The differences are minute to observation and rather large under the hood. C
