Yep, I get the same thing (at the same res), also the Wolf Quest if you chose to help, doesn't have any text at all after chosing to do so.

The various objects that give you a +1 increase to a stat are as usefull as gaining a level, so at the moment I'm more excited when i get such an object than when I gain a level. Making these objects rares will only increase the excitement at finding one, compared to gaining a level, so such a change would
Sounds fantastic, Brad. :) Can't wait to see the outcome of this; and that city looks *vastly* improved!
I think if we had waited any longer to release the beta there'd been riots. Bear in mind, NONE of these betas are representative of the final gameplay. If they were, we'd call it a day and make it generally available.
Indeed. :) Posted up the separate suggestion threads for <a href
Ok, so subtitle is a bit harsh and not actually true... You know.. Not ENTIRELY true. ;) As discussed in the impressions thread I posted though, seems I'm not alone in thinking that level-ups mean next to nothing as they stand. A single potion/book = a whole level, and they are currently excessively available! Actually going to straight quote my levelling section from that thread, a
Hi there guys, As discussed in the impressions thread I posted recently, Cities currently are really quite 'blobby'. There is a lot that can be done to assist with this, tesb's thread lists some of them. Another simple way would be to allow us at least a few sub tiles grace in positioning fr
Yea, the hemmed in by monsters stuff was something that came "this close" to keeping us from releasing the beta. It's a trivial thing but it was a big thorn that so many high end creatures had been pasted in as "spawnlevel1". A sovereign should be able to take out any spawn level 1 creature. They exist to get you XP. As for how powerful the books and such are, that's balancing we need to do and will do as we go forward.[
Sorry Juggzor, missed your post, likely while was typing up my first reply there to Resand.
I pretty much agree with the OP on most points, but knowing it's only beta with many features disabled/only partially implemented/unpolished I'm not really basing my opinion of the final product on this.
Definitely hear you there. I'm not throwing up my hands in disgust and walking away; I KNOW many of the issues I have can and will be resolved before the game is called '
Thanks for your thoughts, Resand! In regards to the Pacing ; yeah it was worst of all in that game where all I could get was one city due to literally being blocked off in all directions from further expansion. In my first game where I was able to move actually quite freely, and did end up with 3 cities (two I built myself, one I conquered.. using my sov+wolfpack) and that game was farrrr better, but still had patches of click turn spam. They were broken up at
The claymore description has a typo as well, 'swingt' or somesuch rather than just 'swing'. Hehe.
Kind of a long post, so I bolded the titles for each sub section to make reading the bits you're personally interested in a little easier; also here is a table of contents listing the headings for the truly TL;DR diehards amongst you. ;) --- Power of Monsters / Getting Hemmed In (Already Set to be Fixed) Pacing of the Game - Turn SPAM AHOY! That's a City? Looks Like a Blob to Me. (aka, So. Many. Gard
Yeah, I got a rather rude awakening in one of my first games, because it SEEMED that Sov Death had absolutely no penalty at ALL, which I was about to complain about after I got out of the game.. then.. DEFEAT due to Sovereign death. I assume that Sov dying consumes one of their essence in order to make good their escape? No essence, no escape?
Hi there guys, Anyone else getting this issue? i.e., Or, even MORE Annoyingly... This happened with another quest I saw as well, where you can sacrifice 5 essence to aid in the birth of so
I'm at work, so haven't been able to look into this myself, so offering up only pure speculation here at this point, but.. ..I wonder if this might be related to the whole Adventuring research line being disabled at the moment. From one of the recent vids, Brad mentioned that progressing that line would increase goodies around the map, but ALSO increase the strength of monsters around the place.. So I wonder if in absence of any ability to research it.. All mobs on the map are for som

Because I haven't recieved mine yet and my card has been charged!
Double check spam/junk folder as well if appropriate, just in case it ended up there. Although even if you don't recieve the email for whatever reason, assuming it processed, you can still d/l via Impulse without manually putting in key etc.
Got my email as well! About an hour ago from time of this posting. If it downloads and verifies fast enough; may even get to get my toes wet in the game before work, woo! \o/
I think at this point it's fairly safe to say it isn't coming tonight. :( Lucky for all those with a free weekend ahead, sucks for me, but ah well!
Are we there yet? ... Now? ... ... How about now? *rocks back and forth* Worst part of this is for me personally, I'm in NZ, so sitting on a Friday at the moment. Got no work today (or Uni), but I DO have work over the weekend, 10.5hr shifts each day. So personally, I'm REALLY hoping for the lesser end of the 'Within 24 hrs'. Hehe
I agree it would be nice to have, but I'd set this at a pretty low priority. If push comes to shove have it after launch or possibly in an expansion. Just having multiplayer at all is a huge improvement from GalCiv2 IMO. From Stardocks point of view I think the important part is leaving the code in a state where it's not a pain in the ass to add. Hell for all I know it's as simple as creating a new process and passi
I always thought a PW Roguelike would be pretty awesome. I always thought Mordor: Depths of Dejenol had the right sort of idea. Adventurers could split themselves up into guilds and then form up to make expeditions into the underworld. The dungeons could be randomly generated, although there's a chance you'll run into an other expedition. Depending on your relations, you can fight or trade.
Haha, I haven't pl
I think the various 'views' for different galactic, system, and planetary screens should be very doable, considering that they have said you could do things like different 'views' for an individual city. I'm not sure how easy or hard this will be to mod, but it sounds like it wiil be possible.
Aye, but what they were saying is that on the main map you could have a city represented by a single tile, which when you act
Now I'm assuming that by the Elemental Army's mentioning of full blog posts garnering a decent number of points for you, that there is no NDA surrounding the beta? i.e., We are allowed to post screenshots/vids/game walkthrough's and that kind of thing with the appropriate beta warnings spread throughout?
What about other DD services then, such as GamersGate, D2D and the like? I've already preordered and thus bought via Impulse (ditto with Sins and GalCiv2+DA before that) so I don't really care from a user stand point. Just curious though if those with a lesser market share and not so much in the way of shady practices might be used to extend the reach of the game, even if by only a little?
1. Multiple Views: A Space Strategy game should include several layers, starting with a Universe / Galactic view that covers the 'game world' whether that be a local cluster of stars, a spiral arm of the Milky Way, an entire galaxy, or whatever. This would be view that players would likely spend the most time in, managing their empire as a whole. After this, there would be a System view where players could look at individual solar systems and see the various pla
There are still a large number of NWN RP servers up. I only wish NWN 2 had expanded upon the toolset/persistant world thing rather than turn their focus on to the single player.
Indeed. :( Biggest problem with NWN2 MP in my opinion though; was that the exterior terrain type used ginormous amounts of memory to have loaded on the server, and having players split up as in the case of a Persistant World could mean potentially several such large areas would need to be manage
