I find it a bit amusing that you consider magic to be balanced (or fun) in AoW3. I don''t think there's anything in AoW3 that's even close to balanced (or fun).
Ok, then why do i encounter games with fun balanced magic? And, suddenly, these games support multiplayer.
Such as...?

I have seen a lot of so-so single player games that could have been great single player games, but alas, balancing for multiplayer just made it rather lackluster. So many good, creative, and just plain fun gameplay elements get removed from games all in the name of MP balance. Ugh, I despise multiplayer games...

Being a Founder Elite hasn't really meant much for me. I signed on board for GalCivIII just to show my support, and the future DLC at no cost. I've fired up the alpha once or twice, but I'm not too big on playing alphas, nor betas for that matter. There are so many more people much better at the game and understand it's mechanics to a depth that I don't, so I don't bother making suggestions either cuz I'd either be laughed at or flamed tremendousl

It amazes me that so many people are against the art style... I personally love the art style, and it's one of the most unique things that keeps me coming back. In my mind, it truly sets it apart from every other game that does just plain old 3D... whoopdiedoo... Regardless, there are other things I do agree with. Things like tactical battles could use with a bit more depth like LOS, limited range, flanking, attacks of opportunity, etc... City building should h

Do we know Spouses are in fact part of the next DLC? Where can I find info on other aspects of the new DLC, because Spouses would be the last thing I want, so if there's nothing else interesting in it, I'll just skip it.

Today was really the first time I had availability to read through this entire thread, and many of the things I would suggest have already been suggested, many time. Things like Naval elements, better tactical battles, better race differentiation, etc... However, today is the first I've heard about Elemental 2015. Is this an update to E:WoM or is this a completely new game? And for the record, one of the very appealing aspects for me to these games is the art style. &n
"Dont write AoW 3 off though because its NOT FE. Variety is a good thing." Personally i wrote it off, at least till they patched it. The reasons being: - terrible AI on strategy map - one type units armies in late game (only t-4, and they are available in like 40 turns) - not working economy - tons of gold/mana Thus, first 50 turns are grea
In my oppinion, Age of Wonders beats LH in only two, but very important aspects, which makes it, as of now, the better game: ° The Interface is a lot better. ° Units are able to learn new skills as they level up.
I like your second point, but truthfully I like the interface in FE:LH better. It has it quirks to be sure, but I find it much more informative and

I was despondent about FE:LH lately, feeling that it was very bland. However, after spending several hours with AoW3, I've come back to FE:LH with a greater appreciation for what we do have. It should be a crime to call AoW3 a 4x game, because quite frankly it is not. It's a combat game, focused on one thing only, combat. There are not multiple strategies one could employ in different games, they all play the same. City spam, rush to combat. It'

I recently started playing this after a long hiatus, and have thus far found the magic to be fairly underwhelming. Granted, I'm not far into a game, but I was wondering is there was an updated list of spells I could peruse and study?

Someone mentioned Robin Hobb, and the Assasin and Tawny Man series are in my top 10 as far as favorites (didn't like the Live Ships all that much though). I only bring this up because her Soldier Son trilogy is also very good. Definitely something unique and and different. And regardless of what someone else stated about Elantris by Brandon Sanderson, it most certainly is worth a read. It too is a very unique tale, and it's what
