Haha, finally made it to the end of level one, minus both my arms.
The whole point of these kind of sales is to sell to people that otherwise wouldnt buy so its no loss from the sellers point of view. It's very unlikely youll see a game pop up in one of these that you were actually planning to buy anyway, it's usually the weekend after :p Like everything in this world, its all just evil mind games i tells ya. Having said that, i did buy Ghost Master for 57pence :p (a friend recomended it) but the servers are too busy to let me
If you dont need essence to build towns, what stops city spam?
The problem with tab is that it goes through all the units/towns wether they're idle or not. So it isnt very useful.
Good and Evil can never really be done right in games. Firstly because there are always grey areas that are a matter of opinion, and secondly the game never knows your motives for doing the things you do. A good example from Infamous. A friend of mine had played the game through doing everything for 'Evil' points, he got to the bit where he had to choose between saving the characters girlfriend or saving the 3 doctors. He saved the doctors because he was sick to deat
will i be able to create my green mean bulky orc race including mean ugly buildings??????
I hope so. I know that's not a very good answer. I know there was a lot of talk a bit back about how much focus should be on cannon races and how much should be customisable but to be honest im not sure what conclusion was reached. I'm pretty sure youll be able to make a greenskinned race, give them certain bonuses and call them o
Points, the alcohol of the gaming world. Can be fun, but some people really shouldnt go near the stuff.
Perhaps a "next idle unit/city" button?
Somthing like this would probably do, have it lit or flashing or somthing untill everything has done somthing or been looked at. I suppose one thing that makes it different from civ is that you dont always want your towns to be building anything, as building has an initial cost. I think id still like an option to cycle through all my towns that arent building somthing though, just
I dont know if this has been mentioned before, but this is my biggest 'itch' with the game and has been since i started playing the betas now and then. Maybe im just not used it. Im just never sure when ive done everything, whenever i hit end turn im thinking have i moved everyone? are all my towns doing somthing? Ive always got a nagging feeling somthing is just sitting there. I think part of it is being very used to civ, ie getting taken round all my towns that are idle, the
Step 1: we're Stardock, we're so nice. Gamers bill of rights, nice DRM, bad monopolies etc. Step 2: test our game for us and give us all your ideas. Step 3: join our army and promote our game for us. What's next? Step 4: Our competitors are so evil, maybe you should DESTROY THEM! Step 5: Stardock should run your country, go my pretties! start the revolution! Step 6: The World. I'm not fooled! I do wish id thought of it though.&
If any game had written on the back of the box: NOT A CONSOLE PORT it would vastly increase my buying chances :) It's not just for PCs. PS3 games that arent Xbox ports tend to be better too. I think people understand that games built specifically with its platform in mind tend to be better because of it, and its definitely worth making sure they know this is the case.
I have never understood the 'it just works' argument. I can do all of those things with windows and it 'just works', i think people tend to have a lot of crap installed. The only thing that doesnt always just work in my experience are mutlplayer games with the whole routers, portforwarding, firewall bollocks. Having said that nothing against apple, never needed one that's all.
Oh this sounds very good. I especially like the special units vs experienced units idea. Might need some form of population bonus, to promote the 'Cannon fodder' approach, but then i suppose that could come down to race bonuses.
The current Beta is, despite their best efforts, fun (at least for some of us). It has the basics of solid gameplay. I have trouble with this statement. I just can't see how anyone could find the public beta fun. There's no AI. Every faction is identical other than name. There's no lore. There's no real diplomacy. There are no decent spells in that are "fun". Maybe I'm jaded but I just find it horrible r
I wonder if there's an alternate universe where Civ5 is being sold in a nice big box, with a nice big manual, and the special edition has a little statue of the hanging gardens, and i can play it multiplayer over my lan with just one disk, and the phantom menace was good. I want to live there. :)
Personally ill still be buying Civ 5, although im not happy i now wont be able to play it at work with my friends during lunch.
Yeah goodluck, ill be keeping an eye on this :) How do you plan on making it? Mod or from scratch? EotFS actually sounds very similar to a civ5 mod i was planning.
Expand Race Distinctions please :) Id like to have very different playstyles depending on the race i play.
I'm not sure i understand why it has to be one or the other. The canon is already there for the game isnt it? Why wouldnt you be able to make the canon races using the tools you make for players to make their own races? Edit: After re-reading i guess what im suggesting is, get all the assets in for the canon stuff and add assets for non canon with what ever time/resources are left. Hopefully that would still give people a lot to play with, i would imagine thered be lot
So in the Faction creation screen, you would have a “Race” tab where you would design what they look like along with a very simple Strength and Weakness list.
Would it have to be a very simple list? Could there be some specials as well as +/- bonuses? For example Water Walking (For a lizardman race) Regeneration (For a Troll race) Winged (For a Draconian

You've got Diablo down as a game you enjoyed and thats meant to be a similar kind of thing (action RPG), made by some of the same people apparantly

I don't think its real. But if it is its funny. You dont actaully have to do anything in that email, it's just to let you know its waiting for you in your battlenet account. So all she did was let him know. [e digicons]:D[/e]
