How can you not like Minecraft when it's so similar to DF? I'm assuming it's the whole first person controls vs god in the sky controls, but the interaction between people in game really sells it for me.
I was just thinking how incredibly DIFFERENT they are. They have little to nothing in common, other than the fact that you STRIKE THE EARTH in both. I can't wait for Minecraft to have proper multiplayer. It's going to be awesome, with

Could people please stop calling it slippery slope? It's not a slippery slope. It's a cavernous fall into blackness. Slippery slope implies something potentially good going bad, slowly sliding downwards. This is a plummet. It started as a plummet and it's still plummeting. There's nothing slippery nor slope-y about it.

Currently it's an unfinished brick tower. Brick. Tower. For anyone trying to construct something larger than a hut out of bricks in Minecraft, I'll let that sink in. Worst. Decision. Ever. Still, I had no idea he made that kind of money on this. That's am

Some of us didn't pre-order until we were assured there would be LAN support for the game and that with multiplayer in the game, it would be done "right".
Well, after reading that post Frogboy started (you can't miss it, it's 15 pages long already), looks like Lan play is "not quite" possible right now. Each person has to purchase their own copy, and, you have to be connected to the internet to play. But my friends are going "but that's not Lan play!?!?". Anyway, I'm pretty sure it's about the same as SC2 multiplayer (at the moument), you'll all be playing each other via

"In a future patch" is not what was said during the previous discussions on LAN support or at the time of my pre-order. As someone who didn't pre-order until it was said that the game would have LAN-support as opposed to the "Stardock servers only" that had been discussed prior to that point, I feel nothing short of cheated. I genuinely thought Stardock was different. Turns out I was wrong. Would that I could get my money back. I now see what the pre-order-and-get-beta scheme is all about. [e digicons]#:([/e]
I was referring to the common American definition of "terrorist", not what I personally think a "terrorist" is (hence the quotation marks). I personally don't think the term "terrorist" should even be used in serious discussion, being far too subjective and general.
The definition is really quite simple. A terrorist is someone who uses acts of terror to achieve their goals. It really is that simple. By every definition, the
There's no current timeline, it'll depend on what customers want us to focus our resources on. The first thing we'll want to do is see how many people are playing MP in the first place.
Wouldn't those statistics be somewhat skewed, seeing as how those of us that are only interested in LAN capabilities won't be tallied? Of course it's a non-issue, when those that are having issues can't be measured - because they're having issues!
As for LAN, I don't want to get into semantics here. I'm providing instructions on how people would play on their LAN. I think our policy is pretty flexible here. It's been many years since I've been on a LAN that didn't have a net connection. The game is a client/server game. The servers are on the Internet.
It's not really semantics. It's right there in the abbreviation; Local Area Network. If you require in

Halo 3 is a bit better than most, because you're fighting an enemy that makes a point to inflict as many civilian casualties as it can , and thus causes the remaining civilians to want to join the Human insurgency.
Oh, you mean like terrorists ?

BioShock just went from "This is all a bit implausible, but fair enough" to "Holy shit this is nonsense" . Having player Bioshock and Bioshock 2, I can't say that I'm getting my hopes up. They were mediocre at best.
BioShock is far from a "landmark" game. It just got so much attention because it tried being a story-driven modern FPS instead of a plain shooter - and it did that mostly by just having you look around
