I can just imagine a Steampunk styled artillary piece firing shells enchanted with "conjure fire elemental" at an advancing alien foe.
Those are nothing compared to my gunslinger with revolvers, firing magic bullets! In my rough draft, we're facing interdimensional beings that are trying to subvert the surrounding nations. It all leads to a Cthulhuesque organization in the end.<

I don't think anyone would make the mistake of confusing, say, Baldur's Gate with Jagged Alliance, or Planescape: Torment and X-Com. Just like Fallout and Fallout: Tactics can't be compared in gameplay. Squad-based tactical combat, in a fantasy setting! Or even better, a steampunk fantasy setting. I could make a rough draft and have it on your desk by monday!
Fallout 3 does actaully feel somewhat like Fallout 1 and 2. A little less flat with a different slant of humour but a very similar feel to the world. Action games based on a stratergy game on the other hand, miss the point COMPLETELY. Id also like to point out that this is not an X-Com game, it is just another shooter with X-Com branding to give it some media attention.
Alright. One thing is clear in this discussi
I find the FPS just.. This feels like Fallout 3 all over again. There's just no way they can create the same game if they're going to "reimagine" it, so why even bother trying? Can't they create their own IP based around the same concepts? Why even make another "X-Com" game if it has nothing in common with X-Com?
This is one of those games, unfortunately, where a remake is inevitably going to piss people off. If they change to
Actually, just today, I was thinking that.. Oh man, how awesome would a fantasy-based X-Com game be? I actually got a little bit psyched. Same concepts, same mechanics, just a completely different setting. A High Fantasy setting, instead.
I read the comic today, actually. I just cannot fathom how the movie can caption anything even close to that. As I said in the thread where it was being posted, I find it sad that something as great as that comic is overshadowed by the movie, and being made famous by the movie, instead of the other way around. I don't think posting torrents here would be looked kindly upon, so I'll refrain, but for those of you that are interested; Read the comic. It's excellent.
Wasn't it basicly confirmed that we'll have a variety of mounts? I thought it was confirmed. Pretty much. Bear Cavalry! Ho! On the subject of raptors, I can only say:

Trying to play Dragon Age Origins so I can try out Awakening, but it's such a buggy mess that I'm not sure I can even be bothered anymore.

How about making the various coins a part of nation creation? For one faction, one gold coin is a Gildar, which consists of 10 Rigmars, or 100 Half-Rigmars. For another faction, one gold coin would be a Regal, which consists of 10 Luckmanns, or 100 royals.

If the card requires 300 and you've only got 250, you should probably get 400, at least. I'm sorry, this question kinda feels like asking why the air condition doesn't work in my car - I mean, sure, I've got a huge hole in my roof, but surely it can't be the issue? New PSU. Get one. Edit: 196.21 are the latest ones, since they apparently discovered a problem with the previously latest ones. I even had to downgrade, so yeah, I remember that.
Why not just use the official chatroom(s)?

Sadly, I don't use Mac, so I can't really help you there. But yeah, there are quite a lot of Dwarf Fortress players around here, I think. It should be up the Stardock fans alley.

I stopped caring about what categorization companies themselves put on products these days long ago. Even Mass Effect 2 is labeled as a RPG, if you ask Bioware themselves.
I'm all for this. Screw the egalitarians. They don't live in the real world anyway. I'd cringe every time someone suddenly had a baby like it was a big surprise. "Hey, look what fell out of me today! A baby! Let's ship it off to the nearest castle to be raised. I have a dungeon to raid." If players end up valuing men and women differently for different reasons and purposes in the end, all the better.
