Does food (or grain) increase the speed at which your city grows? or does it only effect the maximum size a city can grow to? Thanks in advance

[quote who="parrottmath" reply="3" id="3395662"] I think they have done a good job in making each faction play differently. Tarth adds some bad habits about wandering close to monsters without worry that the other factions don't have, but you can learn other habits from the other races which could be detrimental when playing other races. Magnar will get you in the habit of building a lot of fodder units, but that doesn't work so well with other races. Altar will get you used to
Is the Tarth a good faction to begin with? or is their "not getting attacked by monsters" ability a bad trait to learn the game with, as it makes playing them too different from playing other factions? Thanks in advance
Hi. I just bought LH and it looks like a fantastic game that I'm going to really enjoy. I have a few start-up questions before I begin my second game (first "real" one). 1) I'd like to play with all 10 factions included (9 AIs). Should I play on a "huge" map? In some games (like Civ 5), I find that the recommended number of civs per map size is often too few. Is playing with all 10 factions on a "large" map (the 2nd largest map) a good option? 2) W
