Played for a long time last night and was impressed. The AI was certainly making advancements and had well defended cities. Lucky for me though they focused on upgraded soldiers and not groups of soldiers, but still nice to see. At one point I haas a power rating of of 200 anf Capitar was somehow sitting at 420. With the race of the nations warning of impending doom due to the might of Capitar.

I loved GalCiv2 but I think Sins of a Solar Empire is more fun
Yeah they seem to be a waste of space - unless the system required you to send a diplomat to another factions city in order to begin and conitnue communications I see them as a waste of space, that could have been taken up by a warrior
When I read crap like this I can almost hear the pained voice of the 11 year old that wrote it. Is that strange?
Yeah I am not sure of all the issue. I though Civ V was actually a pretty well designed games. Maybe some balancing issues the early game and slow to start but still a fun game. I am happy to see you guys adding people to the team in an effort to make this game even better that what is has become. I have been enjoying the most recent update and plan to continue to support you guys.
I played through a very long game yesterday and I do not see a problem with the current system the way it is. the upgrades work well enough - maybe you modify your capitol over time - but I don't see a need for the complexity your thinking here or how it actually improves overall gameplay. though I admit I can dig the cool factor of having an uber city as your capitol .
I have a save file at about turn 753 where I research the Castle tech. Once I click the button - all of my level 3-5 cities automatically create castles I can click the turn button 1 more time after this and then I can no longer end a turn. you can access a copy of the 2 turns before crash file as well as crash save from here: <a href="https://docs.google.com/leaf?id=0B5CPi4F4rnzoMzdjNDhkZGEtMDhlNy00MTBlLTllMGMtMjI0ODNjYzJkMjRk&
The modifications that have been made to this game are very intense and have greatly improved playability throughout, which also ups the fun factor. Yet all these dudes care about if they can give a skirt a sword and send her to be slaughtered with the rest of your worthless stock. Leave your women at home - my men will meet them soon enough.
yes you can make female warriors now. You can create a new faction that has that option also
lol, this is do true, but the diff in real like if that the Sovereign can talk other Sovereigns into giving him a lone to build his army to kick you but. and give them money back over 30 years or so. LOL
I tend to focus on Civ first to build up my cities and then switch to War to get groups and Eilte troops. From there I go to diplomacy to get my caravans and start builiding cities. I don't both with magic unless I either have a shard near by or I see hostility. In combat I do like to use my Soveriegn and spells to decimate early forces - with my favorite being Spell Blast - earliest area of effect spell in this version at least. Lots of damage at goo
Maybe I am not very good - but since the beta had started I have never been able to play a full game and I am always low on money over in the negatives.
LOL - that was a well needed laugh. I could see the pawn shop guy looking at you like - yeah what-ev-er! LOL Classic
I will try that idea to day - thanks

Not sure if this has been changed in recent builds but, I was playing a game where money was negative so I could no longer build my army. I had been learning spells and stockpiling points to I was level 19 spell casting learned and 3 books of magic Gilden decided unwisely that now was the time to attack because all I had was a sovereign with few weak armed peasants. What they did not consider was the fact that I had 2500 in sp
It is currently based on Action Points, but your make a good argument. mounted unit should get some additional movement,
Capturing enemy cities send my economy into a downward spiral. In order to stop an aggressive AI player from attacking me - after they already made the threat. I began to systematically take over his cities. to my surprise each city I captured put my gilder and food into the red. I would think that if the computer is operating these cities and somehow has a stronger army than me that they can afford that army. Why would he have so many cities th
So far i've found the upgraded systems to work much better than the old one. I don't mind the mana pool and I think it's actually a better style of play overall.
IF you have files you need get an external drive and a copy of the ubuntu 10 cd - its free. from here: http://www.ubuntu.com/ Boot from ubuntu you will now be in an non-windows operating system so the bug should not be active. Atttach a usb drive to copy files that you dont want to lose From ubuntu you will be able to see both your c drive and the usb drive you installed copy the files you need from
I've been in the negative before - at that rate - he should have had no army
You did not include a race of Men
woohooo
Point 2 is actually a good point - but also, there needs to be a better way to deter or intercept attacks against caravans. Too often I have guards near by a route that I know is problematic and still cannot intercept the baddies fast enough to save the caravan
I don't think anything is wrong with the current setup, one of the things I dilike about he latest Civ game is how much time and effort it takes to make roads
