Haha thanks I was clicking stuff and all of a sudden got "this webpage doesnt exist" error xD, that explains it :P.

Just to clarify I wasn't blaming you or anything Sycraft, I understand it takes a lot of people to manage all the available info and appreciate your effort to get it up and going. What's been done on the page so far seems pretty good to me but I mentioned its outdated because I wasn't sure if someone else started a new one or something. On another note I edited a few things here and there but I've never actually worked on a wiki like this before so I was kinda

There is a Wiki and its rather outdated, I'm not sure if someone started a new one elsewhere though. Here is what I found: http://elementalwarofmagic.wikidot.com/

GL over there! Regarding the forums, I like the new look but every forum category I click takes me to Dev journals everytime, I can't access anything else. Is anyone experiencing this issue or is it just me :(?

Wow nice work on the scenic view (I think its a scenic view), it looks awesome and reminds me of an HGTV show that was showing off some houses in Italy and to get to it they had to climb some long ass stairs and didnt have access to a vehicle, but it looked amazing.
The issue I am struggling with is seeing how to call the UI for player interaction AND to tack nonstat(ability mods) on properly. Sigh, gonna have to read up on my xml
I will need to do some reading too sigh :s.. I'm trying to do something as simple as defining the gold per turn of the merchant talent to 2+2 but idk how the hell to do that in xml lol. Before you say just put 4, I'm trying to figure out how t

I miss all the extra goodies that came with games too :( I remember NES games came with lots of stuff, like maps, unit charts and all sort of cool things that would get me to open the box more than just to get the game out. Ogre Battle for the SNES also has some fond memories as it brought a bunch of stuff, like the unit charts and upgrade paths. Omg I could spend so much time looking at it lol. Great job so far, I really am looking forward to seeing the campaign already and the finis

Nice, I've also been trying to figure out the various xml files that are available to us. I tried focusing in sovereign/champion abilities as I'd really like to try and create new abilities. I've been trying to trace back certain things like where comes from. To my understanding there are several of these that we currently cannot change or modify. I was interested in creating new abilities but I don't think we can atm, unless I'm missing something (which
I myself am looking forward to seeing scripting in the game, and the desktopX API. XML will never offer the flexibility needed for conversion type mods, so I guess that makes me a "second wave" modder who'll become active when (and, tbh, if: I understand this is a strategy game and has a limited budget and at the end of the day, Stardock may not want to go down this route) some more flexibility comes in.
Oh so you can't actually mod the UI atm then? I've been going craz

This crashed happened as I was going to exit the game after being in the tile editor. I closed the tile editor then clicked exit at the main menu and crashed. This is related to the first version of Beta 4 that was released in the afternoon. I exited because I'm going to update now, if it werent for the crash earlier I'd probably be still working on the same tile :s, shits addicting. DxDiag: http://pastebin.com/wj2zmtWY Zip: <a href="

This crash is related to the first update we received in the afternoon, I just noticed there was an update when I reloaded the game. As the title says, I went and saved some changes I made to a tile I was working on, which was the first one I've been working on and crashed. I managed to save it without problems a few times before. I really do hope there's a way to use Blender to create our own stuff, I've been learning blender specifically to add my own stuff to this game. It's a really nice program and I finally learned how to add some basic animation moments ago so I'm really hoping the effort isn't wasted :(.

Very nice, I really like your event notification idea and your example gj! I like most of what you said, and I believe they will start polishing the UI after they release the modding Beta and we all know the UI needs work. So keep up the good ideas :D I liked your idea to need a diplomacy tech to share sight with other players, it reminds me of Age of Empires 2 where you would have to research Cartography to see your teammates. I always thought that was a cool feature and made feel un

I agree that forcing a player to do something would be really frustrating, for example forcing a peace treaty. Let's say you spent a lotta effort to take someone by surprise and attack them, like going around the whole map in a ship for 20+ turns, then you attack them and bam DC screwed. That would really suck, at least for war you could use DC to try and force a war to stop but if you didn't you should have severe penalties if you chose to continue on. But you would have t

I don't really mind if Diplomatic Capital (DC) is useful for MP or not, but if given the choice and time I'd definately try to make work though. Regardless there are always ideas that could be adapted, I personally liked the "Espionage" use for DC but there are other good ideas floating around. The only idea that popped in my head for MP purposes was to compare 2 players DC and if your DC exceeded that players DC by a certain threshold (1.5x, 2x?) then maybe they could have a neg

In Civ 4 I loved the option to remove tech trading as it always seemed the computer always went ahead of me in tech because it would trade with others AI and leaving me nothing to trade for. In a later patch they added an even better option, "No technology Brokering". This option restricted trading only the technologies you researched yourself (same for the AI), instead of being able to trade for a technology and then use that newly traded tech to gain other ones from different c

You make a good point Bogatz, it being hidden wouldn't really achieve much but be an annoyance now that I think about it. The main idea of having a counter is what matters to me the most, you could see your "total acquired knowledge" in your kingdom report for example. It could be like the experience bar that heroes have currently, mouse over it and see how much you need for next "Bonus/Level/WuteverYouComeUpWith. I'm sure a counter isn't the only thing that you could do to link these

Right now the "features" we got in E:WoM are Dynasties, City Building, Units/Heroes/Sovereig, Researching techs and Magic (acquiring knowledge). Not sure if I should add adventuring since that falls under the research tree, but for the examples I'm providing I wont use adventuring. When I say "features" I'm referring to the "systems" that move the gameplay, if that makes sense to you. Right now these systems are very good in their own right, but its been bothering me lately that

The only thing I can think of right now is linking passive bonuses of tech trees to your champions. I've been doing a lot of brainstorming recently relating to champions because, to me at least, they are a very important part of the game and they just currently are just like a peasant that can buy stuff in a shop and levels up. Anyways I think you could have champions and the tech trees interwined by giving bonuses to the respective hero classes that could relate to a tech tree. For e
i dont agree even on the first part frogboy want sauron like and casters do cast 23124124 times in a single turn and then you put a bit of grass on the ground and lose essence forever? doesnt make sense also there is the problem of other champions, how to make them cast?
The point of this idea is to avoid losing mana forever in most cases. I say "some spells" should permanently lower max ess
