The AI factions will do the same thing as speculated at here. I had Kulan and his army camping outside a city of mine for at least 20 turns as the whole city occupied the passable terrain between a mountain range and the sea. I think he moved again when the Night of Haunted Dreams event was launched...

Thanks for checking... I will double check it next time I get the quest. I have turned autosave off to speed up my play so I can't go back and retry it this game. But if the code checks out... definitely could be I got it and just didn't hear the sound effect you get with a research boost...

As I negotiate with another sov, let me see how many turns remain on a tribute treaty or NAP by having the turns remaining pop up as I hover over the treaty. Thanks!
Two black widows against my army, the one tried to web my spearmen. The other beguiled my Panca Archers. They were still able to shoot at the spiders and cause damage. Maybe if they changed beguile to affect any kind of unit? Or just change it to possession of the unit?
I caught Warlord Verga out roaming the wastes with only a 3-man spear unit, so I took the opportunity to declare war on him while we were both on neutral ground. My sov and his two 3-man spear units defeated him easily and 4 turns later, a Yithril pioneer moved directly toward my army. Why? Apparently, the Tribute Kulan was paying me allowed him to trespass. The "Get off my lawn" option in the diplomacy screen was grayed out. Once the period of tribute ended, I was able to demand his departure. During the twelve turns he was there, he summoned an ice elemental, so at least he wasn't just lazing around! But it seemed he was flummoxed by my city between a mountain range and the sea.
That is a clever exploit! Thanks for pointing it out to the devs. Still wish they would make an engineer unit for outposts and maybe let you spawn one pioneer unit for each level of your capital city... 6 cities should let you pick the right combo of town/fortress/conclaves for your play-style and not let you drown in city queue management. They are quite a ways up the tech tree too...
Many have asked for similar defenses, either special tiles like hilltops on regular tactical maps and walls and other defenses like you mentioned above. I hope they think about adding these mechanics to a future expansion... though I expect modding some sort of destructible walls into the current game could be accomplished by a skillful modder.
Ok, I am midway through a game as a Summoner/Life Mage and picked Summoner path at level 2. It is tremendous fun, yet balanced. The summoning pool keeps things balanced, better than mana maintenance alone. I find that between the odd healing spell and summoning a few units, my mana pool has rarely gotten above 150 points at any portion of this game (the Ironeer blood doesn't help, but I wanted to try out Golems as well :) ) The immobilizatio

Blacksmithing military tech text mentions creating Maces, but these are now unlocked later in Weaponsmithing. Cooperation text talks of Pubs and Missionary Halls, but does not unlock them.

Intro to Ascian Quest: Lady Umber would call for "aid" (help) not an aide (servant). Grammatically ok, but Letter of Mark could be a Letter of Marque... (a little more old-timey). Edit: And when Procipinee meets me and says reclaiming the land is a blessed gift, she should make reference to my sov's name, not the Kingdom as a whole ( just change the the tag in the xml). Spiders always waste a turn or two (web or web then beguile), while my adjacent melee troops get free attacks. Either give the spiders counterattacks, or adjust their behavior.
