Whenever an NPC player surrenders and leaves cities behind that are destroyed, my game crashes. I'm stuck in one game because no matter how I play it out this one NPC will abandon the game and crash me out.

Getting both hard crashes and the failure to respond crashes after updating to 1.5. In my first game under the new patch, I've crashed 3 times by turn 100.
I make all but one of my champions into mages. I'll make sure that each of my "main" armies has two champion mages in it - at least one of which can heal and shrink, and one of which can cast resist fire (after leveling up a bit). I also try to get one of them fireball and one teleport. I always play the custom race trait that gives you spellbooks so I can make sure this happens. I make one hero a commander for building roads and helping out in conquered cities.
Any chance that the Mob AI will begin attacking NPC AI units? I know that if I have a pioneer and a spearmen running around together and they end a turn next to a wandering mob, that the mob will attack them 99.9% of the time. However, whenever I see NPC pioneers running around and they end the turn next to a Mob, the Mob does not attack them, which makes it very easy for the NPC on higher difficulty levels to expand without the use of troops to escort their pioneers.
I'd also like to mention that the engine used for the game is one designed in-house by Stardock, and so it never (and really couldn't ever, considering Stardock's size) went through the rigorous compatibility testing that larger engines go through. And some of the larger engines even have serious issues. Look at Gamebryo. The only way to rectify this is to submit crash data; otherwise your v
The techs that discover new resources need to find a lot more than just a single resource. Right now it's pretty pointless as compared to leveling up a warfare tech.
Pretty surprised to see that it has been stable for some people. I've been crashing regularly - even when it doesn't appear to be a memory leak issue.
He always still appears for me on turn 2. Last night I turned him into a killing machine by imbuing him early on and running him around with my sovereign. By mid-game both my sov and janusek had about 100 essence and 30+ int.. with 2 fire shards I was able to fireball any single creature for about 160-180 per turn with both casters.. or use the AE fire (blanking on name atm) spell to wipe out hordes of armies.. The final part of the master quest was incredibly easy with ju
If you are still crashing at 1.08 then its more likely issues with your computer (drivers or program conflicts or even hardware issues).
Please stop pretending you know what you're talking about. I have about 40 games installed on my computer. The only that crashes (and was still crashing quite a bit last night) is Elemental. No others. Win 7, 64-bit. Nvidia hardware and

When I researched the rare metal adventure tech, I got one ventri (sp?) metal mine pop up. On an entire continent. So I had about 20 villages and only one metal mine. Ouch. Definitely think there might be som
If possible, please add to 1.09 or 1.1 the ability to turn off animations in combat. Even better would be the ability to toggle only certain animations - I want to keep the magic animations but disable everything else to GREATLY speed up tactical combats.

While I enjoy Elemental when I'm playing it, I got so frustrated last night that I've decided to put it down until Stardock gets their act together and at least fixes the game halting leak issues.. I'm running a computer that was top of the line about a year ago.. Win 7, 64 bit.. lots of memory.. Yet after an hour or two into any game, I invariably crash from a memory leak.. and then each time I go back into that game it doesn't take too much longer before it happens again.&
Simply unbelievable if that didn't get fixed in this update.
Why did Stardock allow the option to charge me for overnight shipping ($10) when the game wasn't being shipped for like a week after it was going to be launched? I want my shipping charge refunded.
You are aware the entire magic system is still broken, right? 95% of the spells are unimpacted by shards, don't point to the proper variables, and/or don't function the way they are supposed to. Many are gamebreaking (confusion). No way that a game predicated on magic should be released with the magic system broken.
Quoting Alonzobistro, reply 1 Build a workshop to get some extra tools. Explore around with your sovereign to get some more on locations called "abandonned crates" or some like that. For gold, exploration works too. Train a pioneer in the first turns and as soon as you discover a gold deposit build a new settlement next to it and a mine on it. That should float your boat Not even close. I
I'm just curious - how in the world did the game launch with all these broken spells? Was there no internal testing at all of magic in the internal beta?? For a game that's called War of Magic, you'd think testing the functionality of spells and nodes would be, ya know, kinda a priority?
I'm enjoying it, but I still crash fairly regularly, whether it's because of memory leaks or another issue. I also think the tactical combat needs to be improved in terms of the magic and that the damage should match what you see when you auto-run the combat. We also need more variety in the types of units. More rock/scissor/paper and special abilities. Need flying units. Etc etc. Just a lot that needs to be added. But yeah, I'm enjoying t
I think Elemental has more potential.. but right now MOM's battles are much more interesting and balanced than Elemental's. Magic means something. Units have unique traits (there are a few in Elemental, but unless it's a magical damage ability it's pretty much meaningless right now). There are no strengths vs. weaknesses to consider. Enemy movement in tactical combat is so simplistic and easy to predict that you often win battles you probably shouldn't have.
I ordered the game and paid $10 for overnight delivery. I still haven't received it. In fact, I haven't even received any sort of notice that it was shipped. Fortunately I was able to download the game a day before it was released.. but why even offer the box for sale.. and why in the world did you offer me overnight service AND charge me for it if it wasn't going to be sent overnight. I'm thinking about demanding a return of the shipping fee they charged me for.
IMHO, expansion happens a little too quickly in this game. On a small map, by about turn 50 the entire map seems to already have been settled and controlled. If you don't start building a pioneer near the start of the game, you fall behind. I pretty much just start cranking them out, settle all the land I can, and then research the adventure tech that reveals the food resources. That allows me to build enough food to grow all the villages I've settled, especially after
Ummm. No, those bugs have not been fixed. I still get mem leak crashes and there are a number of other major gameplay bugs. So please don't speak so generally. I'm enjoying the game, but it was launched broken, very unbalanced, and with many portions of the game seemingly unfinished or never thoroughly tested or thought out.
Early in a game last night (after upgrading to 1.06 and then getting the hotfix or update for 1.06), I had no units other than my Sovereign and a couple other champions I had recruited. I had four cities at the time and my sovereign was in one of them. I learned the summon familiar spell, so I had my sovereign step out of the city and cast Summon Familiar. I then cast Enchant Armor or whatever the spell is that gives you +2 armor. The spell apparently didn't get applie
I also encountered the memory leak crash after updating to the 1.06 patch. It seemed to be stable for a longer period of time than 1.05, but that just may have been the optimist in me. My debug.err file is below. http://pastebin.ca/1926581
