From the inquiry thread:
Yes, this would be great !
1. All folders are labeled to where they go. Inside the Gfx folder you'll find 2 folders, Eyes, and HKB. Both of these are in your Install Directory located at: C:\Program Files (x86)\Stardock Games\Elemental\Gfx
Raven X, From my testing, I have not been able to store any graphics in the Mods folder. Should I assume, based upon your location of the graphic directories, that this was your finding as well? Thanks.

Introduction Athas. A desolate planet beneath a crimson sun lies home to oceans of deserts, wrought with savagery. Magic has torn this world asunder, destroying all but the most hardened life, plant and animal alike. The only resource which is rarer than the precious water is the scarce traces
Wintersong has a Dark Sun Mod going. Well, it's got Dark Sun stuff in it anyway from what I know. You should seek him out. Sounds like good stuff though
Wintersong's mod, while entitled "Dying Sun," does not appear at all to be a Dark Sun mod. Rather, it appears to be his own unique D&D world. I certainly don't want to step on his toes, but everything I read within his post does not reference Dark Sun dir

It's been a while since I read up on Dark Sun. 15+ years or so. Polishing up a bit on the lore with the new 4E campaign books, I am thinking that the races as factions may not be the best of ideas. Instead, they can be "acquired" through various technologies (i.e. Diplomatic, etc.) and as heroes. It also seems to make more sense to segregate the factions out into Defilers vs. Preservers from the very beginning, offering 5 unique factions of each. For instance
I agree, if there is a D&D setting more fitting than Dark Sun for a mod to this game, I can't think of it.
I couldn't agree more, LX. I'm sitting here, contemplating whether I want to do a Forgotten Realms mod, and then hit hits me. "DUH!" Athas is almost perfect! Then I start brainstorming and some of it just fits in too beautifully, from sorcerer-kings, to elementalist priests, to templars.&nbsp

This is a general inquiry to see if there is any interest in a 4E Dark Sun (Athasian) mod for Elemental. General and initial thoughts behind this: Sorcerer-Kings will replace Sovereigns, and will vie for power amongst themselves. The various classes will be represented as Heroes. Factions will not exist, per se, in the traditional sense. Instead, this will be determined when studying the Magical Tech Tree, when given the opportunity to stu
Did you apply the third party modification to allow the game to use more memory on 64 bit systems?
Where can we find this?

You're a paying customer with your ISP, mayhaps you should be just demanding of them. I am sure that they will be just as accommodating to your adamant attitude.

Win7 64-bit. ATI 5870. Crashes consistently with Out of Memory every game between turns 185 and 210. I would warrant a guess that this has happened in about 15 straight games (out of 15).

Based upon a lot of the commentary in the various forums, there are MANY people who agree that it is excellent and full of flavor. Knock yourself out, though.&
I didn't explain it very well, but you can usually get nice mountain ranges with the turbulence controls. To get a feel for how it works, turn the noise weight down to zero so you can only see the turbulence map, and also turn the turbulence roughness to a low number. You should then see a kind of snakey pattern. There are some complex interactions with the noise map, so when you add the noise back in you'll want to be careful so the range p

Did a lot of playing around with this last night and it works quite excellently. A word of caution: 256x256 maps take a very long time in between turns, and I am running Win7 64-bit with 4gb RAM. I am sure that when Stardock releases the 64-bit client, this will be improved upon. 192x192 is very quick, however. One thing that I would like to see is a toggle for mountain ranges vs. sporadic mountains. As it is now, they seem to be very sporadic, and do not cha
oh, now it makes sense. they called it "labor day notes" because they released the notes on labor day...oh wait...no they didnt.
"Labor Day" also references the entire holiday weekend. You seriously thought the major overhauls that were listed in the notes would be completed over a holiday weekend?

This (among other mods in the works) is a perfect example of what the community has to offer Elemental. Simply brilliant.
so did anyone else think that "labor day notes" meant we would have a new patch by labor day?
No. Otherwise it would have been "Labor Day Patch Notes."
