Pay day is tomorrow. I am pre-ordering tomorrow. I think I have a good shot at making it under the wire, but I am still crossing my fingers. :)

I don't know if this was covered... But as a Sovereign and controller of my domain, I should also have the ability to create dungeons as a domain enhancement. It should grant some type of bonus, obviously, but would also be able to be invaded by my opponents.
Quoting Jharii, reply 5 FYI, it's not too early to think about mods. I've already been toying with ideas for full conversions of the Talisman, Descent, and Runebound board games. Interesting idea. When you state "full conversions", do you mean to actually play the board games within Elemental? I'm assuming not, but otherwise not sure what you mean by "full conversions". And it

Oh Lord. When I first read this topic, I immediately thought of a mod including Michael Flatley and Riverdance. I almost cowered in the corner. I know a LotR mod is inevitable. Good luck with it, but I would prefer to see a Forgotten Realms or Dragonlance mod, I believe. You can never have too many quality conversions though. :) FYI, it's not too early to think about mods.
It'd be cool, but i think mini rogue-like might be a bit too much to ask. I think i would be happy with just scripted battles that have some interesting backstory to it. Maybe, like having to kill a particular boss creature. Or having to move around to deactivate some protections before you can fight the boss creature. Or creatures that spawn in if you do something stupid. Just something so that battles have a bit more story to them. Maybe even choices, such as do you want t
I just hope there's going to be a lot of "wild" space in the game, because clearing out a monster lair and then having a safe zone is no fun. I want new lairs to pop up in far off places and roaming gangs of minotaurs knocking at my gates, I want that forest to be offlimits because the giant spiders are scary as all hell and maybe end up just torching it because I don't feel like losing a hero and an army clearing them out. MoM obviously. Nothing has really come close to the bar that this game set. Sword of Aragon was actually quite similar to War of the Lance, which I have mentioned in another thread. Civ 4 is an excellent entry into the Civ universe using a "modern" 3d game engine.

Some of you may recall the old SSI Dragonlance game War of the Lance released in 1989. It is my second favorite strategy game next to MoM. In it, your heroes could go on quests as well as stack with your armies. Something along these lines would be an interesting option in Elemental. One way to implement this would be to actually remove the heroes from the game while they are questing. This would allow your opponents to counter your quest with heroes of t
've numbered your sentences to I can comment to each. 1. Just because this country was founded on something, does not mean the genesis of our country was a Eutopia. We have the Bill of Rights and the Constitution, and if the country slides out of favor with that document, then it needs to be taken up with the Supreme Court. Anything that doesn't fall under the Bill of Rights and the Constitution that has changed from the country's beginning, is called "progress" -- it's what

You read what you want to read. It's not like I was expecting you to have some great epiphany and realize that this country is in for a world more of hurt before there are any glimmers of hope of it getting better. I hope I am wrong. But I firmly believe that this threshold has been crossed.
Cabinet members, Supreme court judges, every single non-elected government employee from secretaries to janitors to the non-elected military members are all inherently bad? Sorry, you will have to do better than that. Unless you think we should elect every member of the cabinet, every general in the army, every Senator assistant, and not just Czars. Did you complain when Bush created new cabinet positions?

296 Replies 1,211,179 Views
I am patiently waiting for your reasoned explanation as to why Czars are inherently bad.
There is nothing good about putting people in places of power (potential places or otherwise) within the government when they are not elected officials. These people were not voted in and as such, do not necessarily convey the mindset of the people who elected them in.

You presented the president as wanting increased troop levels in Afghanistan as some sort of contradiction, however he has been saying that the war in Afghanistan needed more troops sinc
