I admit the Mining is ME2 was super boring and its a big reason I didn't replay it. I loved the story though.

WhiteElk, yes, I think that is a bit of a tin foil hat conspiracy. Maybe possible, but I find it, like most conspiracies to be far from probable.
EDIT: Sorry thought this was about FE.
I play on normal and the AI seems very good right now. I imagine it will even get better, but if it does, my dumb ass will probably have to turn down the difficulty. They seem much smarter with their money than I am, I have a hard time being able to afford to field as many troops as they do and I don't expand as quickly. That's probably my issue, i tend to stick to a small number of cities and turtle up, while the computer makes a vast empire, and I sit and wonder wh
Just another criminal. He should be in prison. The sad part of all this is the lack of justice.
My big problem with tactical battles is how Auto-battle plays out. Brad is kind of confusing me. he doesn't want the tactical battles to decide the game. I get it. So, can we make the auto-battle work more intelligently? I don't mean my soldiers act brilliantly on their own, but simply the auto-battle follows some basic rules, like putting ranged characters in the back and having them less likely to be attacked. Right now, the autobat
I auto-battle and pray.
Still getting these.
I am having a difficulty understanding how Auto-battle works, or maybe, why it works the way it does. They don't seem to take in things like units range at all. My archers are always getting slaughtered in auto-battle. So, they don't actually fight out the battles? It almost is like they fight the same way spaceships in GalCiv do. They take turns shooting at each others most vulnerable units, with no
TBS multiplayer is a chore.
I have used profanity and harsh language on this board...from time to time...I think in a way Brad is use to how we gamers are.
Well, in reality its more like 40K per person when you consider crappy pay+pretty good benefits, and in reality that's not very much. And we need 30. 30 x 40k. 1.2 Million. And we are actually down about 55 staff from 2 years ago.
Fungus people kill with mind-bullets.
Seems every fantasy or sci-fi genre has to create animal people after they tire of elves. And Cat-people and Lizard-people seem the most common.
[quote who="Wintersong" reply="63" id="3097253"] Quoting Lord Xia, reply 59I do think it is a part of the problem of why they don't feel like different factions. I think it's far more difficult to make factions seem different if they are thematically and visually nearly the same. Making them "feel" like different factions, starts with them actually being different. Looking different is a good place to start. Will adding different tech trees, abilities, etc
Well, I'm really not saying lets turn factions into cat-people, but I'm saying it's something difficult to do when your factions start off pretty similar. If I said, lets design ssome special abilities for our five races. I want you to think about new techs, abilities, weapons, spells, buildings, etc and I gave you the following list of five races Light Elves, Dark Elves, Dwarves, Orcs, Humans Y
It's probably one of the Dev's voices and he's reading this right now and thinking, "Jerks, what do they know, my mom says I have a cool voice!"

But it's only half the problem.
I usualy do where headphones, but never bothered...TBS games aren't really known for important sounds. Maybe some nice music hear and there...but rarely anything that stands out as important.
Yea, a little slow. but how many different ideas (abilities, spells, etc) are they going to pull out of their asses for 6 white European based factions? Not like the question "How can we make Elves faction different from dwarfs?" that would be easier than "How do we make these guys, who look just like these other guys, seem very different?
Holy crap, I didn't know they even had voices. I have to play with the sound down or my woman beats me.
Gonna need the sword of Erdrick...
I think it's Detroit.
[quote who="BlackTaco" reply="53" id="3097154"]In Fall From Heaven 2, one of the best things is how customized the races are. The Sheaim (pyre zombies) play much different from the Luchuirp (golems), who are much different from the Kuriotates (centaurs), and so on.. and then throw in a choice of religions (Octopus Overlords? Ashen Veil?), even more so. The units, leaders, spells, tactics, heroes, and behavior are all different; they don't feel (or play) like generic
But magic ones have magic rules. Magic rings are jealously things, they refuse to work in the presence of too many other magic rings. If you don't like that rationale, then substitute anything else as the rule for magic doesn't really need to make sense, but the bottom line is for balance. And 10 is too much.
