I've gotten unlucky at times and only had three champions late game, and then gained a couple from quest. It happens. I've also had the opposite where I had more than 20 and couldn't gear them up, I had so many. Random maps, man, random maps.

I'm fine with them being immortal they can have some many injuries, they can become pretty crippled. I hate the idea of summoning champions with magic. That sounds very cheap. Maybe something weaker like a henchman, but not a real champion.

I had no modifications, I deleted all created units and nations before the patch. No trees on new game. Quit, restarted in Admin mode, and trees are there.

Praise Toby! Savior! But really, it's a bit more than just terrifying, it's a powerful spell that destroys most armies in one hit and then the dark mage can cast it again in case he didn't wipe you off the earth with the first casting.

I agree with the OP. There are too many, especially the higher level ones, who are mages, often with the weakness trait, that are described as being warriors. And generally, there are just far too many that are path of the mage.
I hope the level requirements changed for these weapons that have been nerfed. Some of them are like level 18, and now barely any better than a longsword.
50 is perfect. Otherwise, I would be too tempted to abuse it.
