Well, what they get in starting married and getting children early is more than made up for by the fact that you can start killing their children before their eyes. SNATCH MY WARGS WILL YOU KRAXIS

1. Is the game entertaining and fun? - I'd like to think so. I mean, I hope that's why I keep accidentally spending hours on it. 2. Will it let me develop strategies to win or lose against the AI? Today or Tonight? -Yes, there is strategy involved in the game, (though not really in the tactical battles) as magic lends an extra dimension to the game. Incoming enemy army? WHOOPS I ACCIDENTALLY DROPPED A MOUNTAIN RANGE IN THE WAY. Hate someone
So, in response to 2), you mean like getting Uruk-Hai as an upgrade to orcs sort of deal? Because that sounds excellent to me. Picking allies in general sounds excellent as well, and there would be the potential for non-combat bonuses in addition to "better units" and "moar flavor". Riding Spiders, anyone?
Propaganda, brainwashing, and skullduggery would be excellent additions to the diplomacy tree, in my opinion.
@dreadcough What about them?
It's already in. The 1.06 patch fixed the tech tree issue.
Have fun storming the castle on vacation!
God, I hope not. I don't want those filthy refugees in my beautiful city That'd be a real hassle.
Don't forget about the missing tech tree for custom Empire factions. That's kind of a big problem.
I've created two factions through the editor, both an empire and a kingdom, trying to use a custom race. In both cases, I found that my custom race name had replaced Trogs in the race selection, and the factions end up using just Trogs by the time I get to the faction selection screen. As a side note, I made them egalitarian and the male units can't equip most armors and weapons.
+ Faction Editor “Faction Creator” hooked up
:D I knew if I bitched about it enough it'd happen!
I've noticed that, too. In addition when they want you to stop fighting them, there's never any offer made to try and convince you to not steamroll through their remaining cities. I assume agreeing to that must take you to the diplomacy screen to find that they're willing to give you things, but I've never wanted to take that risk.
No race or faction editor huh
It would be nice if you could add back in the old faction and race editors. It's fine that they don't have as much flexibility as the XML. It'd just be nice to have something to at least help us get the files set up and in the right places.
I'd just like to have an interface for new races and factions. I don't know XML, I don't want to have to debug my new race, and I don't want to have to load and reload to make sure I've got their skin-tone right. I know that there was a proper interface for races in at one point on account of having used it and still having my beta race hanging around, but I'd like to be making more than one. Is it really too much trouble?
It's just too bad it's so hard to get AI to do things that are "technically legal" like players do. An AI that could start legitimately out-maneuvering me would be a wonderful thing to behold.
I would like to not have to learn a programming language in order to get at the custom factions/races that I was promised when I pre-ordered this.
So what I’m saying is that Elemental 1.0 on August 24th is going to be a first person shooter. Enjoy.
DANGIT I THOUGHT THIS WERE GONNA BE A DATING SIM YOU AIN'T BEEN LISTENIN' TER MY IDEARS AT ALL
Have to agree with this. The tactical combat system could benefit greatly from more complexity. There also must be bear cavalry.
Included in the cost of my warg riders is one horse- a resource my faction can't harvest. Wargs as a resource don't actually seem to have a point right now.
Gateway Strategic Dunno, it'd probably need some balancing Ditto No Creates a stable gateway between two points on the map Not sure. Life? I guess? Basically it spawns two gateway objects on the map that each send units to the other point. It's a neutral object, so enemies can make use of it too. It requires you to be able to see both points you want to use. The gateways can be destroyed
While on the subject of buildings and towns, will there be alternate building styles we can pick out without modding? So I can, for example, have longhouses and huts rather than the 1600s looking ones we've seen so far?
And a way to hide or forcefield your stronghold while you go for the Spell of Mastery.
Being able to make a whole town invisible is possibly one of the best spell ideas I've yet heard. It must be done!
Definitely. With certain spells, you might even be able to use the factional differences to your advantage, or even just spawn a chain of undead to lure away pesky zealots (or something along those lines). Npc menaces too close ot one another declaring war on each other would be fun to watch, too. That PW sounds pretty interesting, too. If I could remember where I put my copy of nwn2, I'd probably go check it out.
