After playing 3 games since the launch of the beta (2 of them were on .76 .77) I wish to give this project some feedback. Also I would like to address Das123 issues regarding: The champion stack of doom City spam micromanagement hell. The reason why FE is facing trouble is not due to 1 or 2 reasons IMHO. There are many reasons that contribute. 0. Winning and losing. There's a thought constantly going on as I p

you're checking if the thing you point at with pUnitType is a Pioneer and if so you're setting it's unit type role to catapult?!?!?
Can't really tell. It might just be the specific node you're using in stardock's content delivery network. Installed the game, and it plays ok... Good luck ppl.
I'm still going 500KB/s it must be your area or something. I Will be done in 5 mins. Will let you know if I get a corrupt DL or not...
I'm getting corrupted downloads as well. They just end before they're finished, with no real warning.
I expected as such. This kind of problem does get detected by download managers and they re-request the missing chunks. Still corruption does occur which is strange. My first DL was corrupted at 97% extraction. I'm using Getright BTW..
2n'd try I'm at 50% and will go on...
Tough difficulty level: AI uses full features but no economic bonuses. I second this.
Well if it's gold it's not a beta any longer, so then it's not gold and ... aw...
Ok, I got a corrupt download even with a download manager?!?!?!?! Wtf!?!?!
My file is corrupt...... ....re-downloading
For large HTTP downloads *always* use a download manager.
GAME IS OUT!!!111ONEONE
Keep in mind that the beta at this point might not even run, and even if it runs the probability of causing internal hemorrhage is quite high as Brad said. Even so you can expect long youtube runs tomorrow. At least FE is almost done, can't say the same for Diablo III.
Quoting maniakos, reply 55I'm at GMT+2 so I've got a long night ahead of me. Good thing I don't have work tomorrow.... If I factor downloading and installing I expect to start the first game *after* midnight Lucky you! I have to work tomorrow, and after that dating a girl the whole night. Guess I can't really start playing until saturday..... :/
OK, is she good

Well I expect the game to fail at a lot of things. Mu curiosity is how much better it is compared to the first.
Quoting maniakos, reply 38Downloading the installer at full speed. Let's hope this goes better than EWOM... Are you sure you're not redownloading wom? No FE on my download page yet. I am eager to see it.
Actually you were correct...
Downloading the installer at full speed. Let's hope this goes better than EWOM... [Edit] T'was the old game [/edit]
new site is up... and the game is incoming... oh the excitement!
Hey, can the Frogmeister, when he finishes the basics like counterspells, set up some systems for the AI to play dirty tricks on us? I was thinking that if much of the AI's thought is on countering, so will the human player think. So, say the AI sets up a one-two punch with different elements, going from a medium spell in say fire, only to follow up with frost. That way we of course would want to put up a frost shield to block the fireball that
Flanking, LOS, terrain, etc, are all interesting concepts. But there's also some meat and potatoes here that are easy to overlook because we take them for granted. How about the AI just freaking healing a hurt unit? Or slowing down a charging unit? If you want to talk about the design of tactical battles, that's Derek's thing. I can say, IMO, that I am not keen on tactical battles being the d
A note: What's equally or even more important than the tactical AI is making sure that the AI controlled side arrives in battle with a mix of units capable of doing what's being discussed. In most games the strategic AI sends armies to engage the enemy only to have the tactical AI withdraw.
You know, we don't need Deep Blue level of AI skill in Tech battles, would just be fun if the AI used it's abilities and they did something other then pick one guy and chase the hell out of him. I think some basic tactical battle concepts would have helped WoM, like true ZoC meaning it's difficult to run around units, limited range on spells and bows, flanking, and meaningful terrain. It has to be hard to really write good A
No chance. WoM is done I think. https://forums.stardock.com/412194/page/1/#3000750

Frankly, I'm tired of the complaining regarding WOM and am done with it. It is not worth my time to keep working on it when every update is met with "Yea, that's nice but why didn't you do A, B, and C?" WOM is what it is. I like it. I'm satisfied with where it's
Some other thoughts: Forget about all cities having a shop! make it a researchable building! Add more advanced shops later on with equipment tech. You can even break them in multiple shops: armourer, weapon smith, enchanter etc... The buildings could also provide some small trade/economy bonuses to justify the space it takes (think VAT on sales, shops were taxed during medieval times) If anything else this would make cities more unique...
