Thanks for the hard work. Just played another game and wanted to report that with the pirate fix installed they are still overpowered. I know you are working on it but just wanted to let you know. Had a game where the 2nd pirate raid in the game was directed at me (the pirates were on 2nd level "Guarded) and the raid consisted of about 70 frigates, 40 cruisers, and a cap ship. Of course I lost the planet rather quickly. Every raid following that one res

Just want to say that I love this mod and as far as I am concerned this is the definitive way to play Sins. With that said, looking forward to getting pirates fixed because the way it is right now it is way overpowered and game breaking. First pirate raid of the game I was playing with about a 1,000 bounty resulted in about 50-60 pirate ships attacking and wiping out my home planet and the fleet I had put together all within 3-5 minutes.
Quoting Mtn_Man, reply 119 Quoting Nesrie, reply 111 The thing is though, do we really need to have a competition as to which games are the worst now? It's not so much a competition as it is a reality check. I still have a hunch that if Elemental had Sid Meier's name on the box and all other things were equal, it would have been given a far more charitable reception. You would have seen

Don't forget the Kings Bounty games. I played The Legend. It's great. More of a RPG slant than MoM-style empire building but its tactical battles and eye candy are great. I'm downloading Kings Bounty: Armored Princess right now from Impulse (its on sale!!). Another expansion for it is due out in two weeks. I tried Dominions 3 demo and although it looked like there were possibilities with it and something i might buy its not something I woul

If you want to play Age of Wonders:Shadow Magic right now you can. It's on GameTap. It's their premium package though but for 9.99 a month you can play a ton of cool games like AoW:SM instantly. It's worth noting they also have ALL the Heroes of Might and Magic and some other great games like Space Colony, Startopia, Kings Bounty:The Legend (which they just added), Civ 4, Colonization, Kohan 2 (which was mentioned here also I think), Disciples 2 (which was also mentioned),..

Maybe it's just in my mind, but it looks like many of the effects have been really touched up more with Entrenchment. I used to feel like using Bailknights mod was mandatory but now with Entrenchment I don't feel the need. The effects are at least closer to what I think is more appealing but not at an extreme that Bailknights is. So Im definitely digging any additions from the graphics standpoint. And if the effects havent been touched, then I'll have more of wha

Hi, I downloaded and purchased SR2;Reboot but it seems to crash my D2D-sourced SR2. Can you please help me? I understand the only solution is for you to provide me with a SR2/Complete serial number so it updates properly to work with SR2:Reboot. Please help. Thanks.

Man Im having the same problems. Installed D2D SR2, trying to install reboot through Impluse, and reboot just seems to break SR2, nothing happens at all after launching the executable. Yarlen, I sent you D2D info if you think this is a D2D/Reboot compatibility issue. Anyone else having the same problems? I tried reinstalling both apps several times, Thanks.

Logic, Just had to thank you once again after playing a night with your mod. I have a Quad-Core 2.4 with a 8800 GT and 2 gigs of RAM and the mod adds a tremendous amount of beauty to the game. (I play everything ultra high, 1680x1050 res, high AA) The results are very noticeable from what I can see. It takes the gameplay experience up a notch for me. The added clarity, detail, and breadth of art make it a must have for anyone with a decent computer. In the

I do have a tendency to go a little over the top and be a little melodramatic... my girlfriend tells me so all the time. I apologize if some things I posted were too much and hurt any feelings. ToA definitely deserves all the praise, as well does your whole company over the past couple of ye

Boogie, Thank you for trying so hard now to fix a lot of the problems with ToA. I still agree with Uranium, he may be over the top, but all his points are valid. I still think Stardock really screwed up the retail release of ToA more than any other piece of software they have done before. I really hope they learn from this lesson. They have really damaged the goodwill they had in a bunch of their more dedicated fanbase. I am now going to pause and think twice before
So if you knew a guy and got along great with him for 15 years, and then one night he rapes you, it's cool because you had some great times?
Uranium - Bravo! I couldn't agree with you more on every single one of your points.

Bwahahahahahahhahahhahahha.... c'mon, do you think just because you purchased a piece of commercial software you are entitled to updated and appropriate documentation?! I was being very sarcastic. Ok, on a serious note, I've been asking for this since the day I bought ToA, which was the day it was released. The two official answers I've received are: "A manual isn't a strategy guide" (in other words, asking for tech trees and some background info on main ToA features is aski

I've been a long-time supporter since GC2 was released. I've gotten into Stardocks vibe and downloaded podcasts, caught you on tv interviews where possible, etc. My only gripe has to do with the release around ToA. The release was buggy (or if it wasn't, it was perceived to be by a slice of the community). Two particular gray areas involve the research behavior, which you say is intentional, and the completeness or bugs with the tech trees (which there could easily be noth

OscillatingAbyss, Thanks for writing such a clear post. I agree 100% with everything you are saying. For me, my issue isn't a box (which for the S&H they charged is a complete rip-off that there isn't one). My issue all along is that there is no updated manual and there was deliberate deception by StarDock to change the cover page of the Gold manual and pass that off as the ToA manual. That is just absolutely wrong. (this ties in somewhat with the box/no box arguement)
what Stardock did with the TotA manual was to deceive their customers. The file in my TotA folder is called TwilightManual.pdf. But it is, in fact, not the game's manual. There is no other word for that than "deception".
This is exactly what happened to me when I purchased ToA sight unseen the day after it was released. I bought it sight unseen because I love StarDock, own the previous GC2 releases, Sins, and even bought WindowBlinds. This exact experience has
Brad is planning to update the manual for TA soon.Good to hear but, ummm, two weeks post release and there's still no manual? Worse, the manual that is there has TotA on the front page but nothing new inside. Couldn't you have at least put a big "NOT READY YET" in there so I didn't find myself wondering what I had downloaded? Talk about a bad "out of box" experience. I'm very aware that games just released will often have known-but-not-yet-squashed bugs. Releasing a game with the old manu
