Went to run the Starswarm test last night, and found out the regular line of catalyst drivers doesn't have mantle included. You need to run the 14.6 beta version to have mantle enabled. So far I have done a basic google search and found plenty of people in both camps, running great and having trouble. So basically I'm just looking for a bit of anecdotal evidence from a crowd who presumably plays a lot of 4x games, both from Stardock and others, as do I.

As title says, just started running windows 8.1 pro for the first time. So far along with Start8 and Fences, I am loving it. Anyone have any recommendations for other software? I have looked at ModernMix, but so far I'm thinking if I don't find myself running any of the "Modern" apps, that will be something unneeded. So far I haven't been running any, but being this new to 8.1 I am not sure if I am going to end up getting them foisted upon me, whether I want them or not.</

I've found one way of keeping memory down in Firefox while still keeping and saving many tabs is using the BarTab extension. Basically when re-opening firefox it doesn't automatically load any of your tabs until you actually click on them. I've found it to be a decent compromise, and have been using it for a year to two now I believe. Definitely interesting to hear about Adblock Plus. Thanks!

Really like the alpha access being included in the founders. I also "REALLY" like the exceptional deal we get as well. Not sure how well that would work with a new IP though. It's much easier to say yes to something like the founders program when it is for a known commodity, meaning when you are seeing GalCiv3 you are fairly sure of what to expect.

I'm not one for multiplayer in these games, but in reading your post it seems the Fantasy 4x genre might be best served by a MP only game. Or MP focused at the least. With human vs human you remove many of your obstacles and could really dig into some cool things. I'm sure I wouldn't be the target audience, but it seems there are a lot of loud voices both here and on the Steam community boards for LH that would really love Stardock take on a project like that.

I'm a bit confused about the DLC. Thought there were supposed to be spouses now (I am much happier if there is not) but it seems all the details on the steam store page say nothing about this. If that is in there and just not listed, is there going to be an option, or advanced option to disable this. Really want the DLC for the new leaders. Might just have to watch the live stream before I purchase. Hopefully all will be made clear!

Looking for a little help here. I have a friend with a laptop that seems to be pretty virus ridden. I've been able to get some out, but can't seem to access the actual Windows "Uninstall A Program" I can get into the control panel just fine but launching the "Uninstall a Program" never does anything. Google search has been no help, think I haven't found quite the right wording. The results I am getting are trying to help me uninstall programs, but none are giving me a way to

Think that book has been in all 3 Elementals so far, not positive on that though, I just remember seeing it a lot.
