I have had steam for many years and there are so many advantages to it. I own over 250 games now, mostly bought at less than 5 dollars on their 2x annual sales. One of the key things I like is the match making ability in games that support it. All I do is hit shift-tab and invite my friend. It is so painless compared to many other games. Everyone on steam has the same version, no compatibility issues. Never had a problem playing

I just downloaded FallenEnchantress .915 from stardocks site... norton ran an auto virus check and said it was removed because it had WS.Reputation.1 virus?? So what next?
Ah you bring up a good point, it does show their movement capacity if you hover over the units. I guess I was looking for a graphical representation, like shadowing the squares they can move to, such as in HommV. Just would be nice to have a quick look as you hover over to see some shaded squares that the enemy can reach, not sure how in depth the strategy is, if that is even necessary. Just something I got used to with HOMM, big part of planning is to move units up to
Bravo! After having sort of given up on WOM, I decided to try the Fallen Enchantress Beta, after swearing to NEVER do another Beta again... Sigh. Cleared my brain, decided to start with the tutorial and pretend that I had never played a computer game in my life. Game looks very pretty, much better. Trying to put myself into the mindset of a noob, I plowed on. Only found a few minor things that might confuse a new person. 1. Th
At launch: War of Magic: F Starcraft 2: B- Fallout Vegas: C Civ V: F----- Napoleon Total War: B Now: War of Magic: C Starcraft 2: B- Fallout Vegas: A Civ V: D (after some patches). Napoleon Total War: B+ Whenever I start to try to get into a game of EWOM I get distracted very quickly and usually end up loading up Age of Wonders Shadow Magic. I think I like the di
Just hired NPC. Moved him to my city, first turn he arrives in city it says he has 18/35 h.p.. Rested him for a turn, still says 18/35. After a couple of more turns of his health not going up on the small round portrait (stayted at 18/35) I looked and the information beneath vitals (on left side of information bar) and it was correct, it displayed 33/35. So hovering over the small round portrait is not updating the correct data. Edit: About
Cast arcane arrow a half dozen times in combat. Each time it was saying it was doing 3 damage, supposed to be 75% of my intelligence according to the spell description. That would be 9 damage. It's only doing 25% (I think 75% of 12 is still 9). It's also unclear if the spell is doing damage at all, the graphics showed a -3 over the targets head, but it only took damage one out of 6 times. If it was absorbed it showed nothing in the combat log, it said 3 damage in the l
Reloaded a saved game. My npc follower had the same image as my custom created leader. Saved games are very buggy. Lost influence radius, lost research. Also on my reload, after my influence radius increased again I had to rebuild my housing, when it was complete it told me 3 times on the Hud that it was finished (3 icons saying it was complete). update: This occurs on tabbing out. I just tabbed out to create another bug r
Have the same bug. On reload I had the shard structure built, but after ending the turn it was gone because of the smaller area of influence. I also think I lost some research. I had two points into domination. On reload it was back to zero!
I saw this as well, seems silly that your vigilant spy can cast spells anyhow. Had summoned a few before I felt like I was cheating [e digicons]:ninja:[/e] .
Treasure chests are labeled as Not. Level 2, and my level is 2 when you hover over them on the map. However when you actually get there it says I'm too low, that the treasure chest requires Level 3.
Quoting Cordsmith, reply 10After my city leveled up I chose to have a random guardian. It gave me 9 spiders, each with 17 HP. I suppose that looks like a bug (literal)! It is very early in the game, only have one city. That seems to be what the NPC's are, 11-17 or so, so I would guess not a bug.
Yes but 9 of them? Maybe it has been changed to make it worth while? Before it was pre
After my city leveled up I chose to have a random guardian. It gave me 9 spiders, each with 17 HP. I suppose that looks like a bug (literal)! It is very early in the game, only have one city. Also is the range on lower and raise land really supposed to be infinite. You can really mess up another player if that is the case .... Loaded a saved game and my border had shrunk from prior to the save. Had a shard already built, saved the game. When I rel
1. I like the Graphics. The towns are pretty cool looking. I just had a thought of something that would look totally cool but maybe impossible? Weather. Imagine a nice little (3D) thunderstorm rolling across the ruined landscape!!!! How pretty that would be! Just for eye candy. Maybe a little rain or snow every now and again. It would make the landscape seem less static. 2. I like the complexity. Lots of spells, lots of di
Must be totally random, I have more than a dozen hired, and most of them are female, ended the game with 2 kids.

Thought maybe it would fall back down to earth after a few turns, but it did not. Might be a bit hard to see, but the trees, and some of the parts of the city are floating. Everything else is very stable for me finally.&nb
Your right Gravedancer. Do you risk moving the engaged unit away to put the finishing blow on a more powerful unit or not? 100% agree with the things you have listed. Trying to line up several units on the hexes so they can all participate in the attack is critical. Something about this game that makes you want to curse at the enemy AI, or yourself, for not overlooking your stupid mistakes.....
Well I don't think we can completely ignore MOO3... Without that disaster I would have never found GalCiv or Europa Universalis. But yes, MOO2 was amazing I played that game from the moment it came out till around 2001. By far and away the best inveestment in terms of entertainment per dollar I ever made. As for memories of that game, probably the strongest memory, is being completely blown away by the size of
Well Craptastic! I guess I should have purchased SM when this thread started LOL. I was too busy playing the campaign in AOW 2 and forgot to buy it! Wonder when it will be released? The 3rd fire mission in AOW2: Wizards throne was so huge it took me 5 days of playing here and there to beat the darn thing, the map is pretty huge. The underground adds extra strategy as well. I left an unexplored cave, missed due to fog of war, so close to my starting
Wow! Shocking. I made my first purchase there just a few weeks ago, since I did not want to screw around with trying to get my ancient copy of MoM running (much less find where I left it).
Not having any technical difficulties, about 3 hours into the campaign again. I wish you did not have to replay Armored Princess again to get to the new content. But it's been a year or so since I finished so I'm going to give it a whirl. Not sure I like the arena battles yet. I only played around with them a short time, seems like it is a puzzle of some sorts. Have to field the correct troops and use the correct strategy for each boss. Have not heard anyth
I have over 100 steam games, mainly because I wait for them to go on sale. Had I an alternative I would certainly jump on it. I have the retail copy of DOWII and if I launch it from the desktop or CD it pops up steam and I have to log in. Go figure. There have also been times when I was unable to access the internet with a laptop, but when steam launches it says it needs to reconnect to the internet again, probably because I left it running and used another comp.
Just avoid AOW2 and you're fine. That game gets completely overshadowed and made irrelevant by SM.
Dunno, I'm having fun with the campaign in AOW wizard's throne. I'm sure SM is better, but this one is enjoyable as well.
Only snake in the garden I see at the moment is the DRM which remains TAGES with 3 activation limit. But there seems to be a "way around that" for sneaky people should it prove necessary. I know, right! Heck, take TAGES off it and I'll buy it at FULL price.
Tages is the reason I refuse to buy this game. I am not a pirate, and do not expect to be treated as one. I do like this series, although I find it's pretty much a one shot deal, even if you play a different class the 2nd time through the first two games. I am glad to see that they are adding an editor with Crossworlds, as well as an update for armored princess. It is a fun game, looking forward to digging into it again. Since 1.08 EWOM crashes on me around turn 200ish, I guess I will have to play this until the next elemental patch! [e digicons]
