Maybe they didn't want it to cut into WOM sales? =P
I Tried very hard to play MoM a few weeks ago. I tried to ignore the seriously outdated graphics. I really did. And finally I came to the conclusion that I just needed to let it gently die, and forever remember when it was my fa
Since launch date I have put Elemental on the shelf, until the 1.08 patch at least. Since launch I dusted off my copy of Age of Wonders II: The Wizard's throne. I tried to get into that game several times but could not quite do it, with 50-60 hours of work, family etc.... Having spent the last few days playing this game all I can say in summary is ... Excellent! On the 3rd campaign mission now. It was a bit hard to get into, but after playing around a bit its a
This is why I'm a big fan of Stardock. Everything that is a problem in this game is certainly repairable. I'm enjoying the game personally. Thanks Brad.
I actually had this before the patch, I had gone in and messed with some settings on my laptop to see if I could get it to run better. After I lowered all of my graphics settings I got exactly the image you posted. I lowered all of the settings as low as they would go.
First off, I really like this game! Now that that is out of the way the list of nitpicky things. Trying to play the campaign from the viewpoint of a noob. 1. Tactical combat issues: -Why does it place some units all the way on the opposite side of the battle from your main troops. I had two poor little peasants starting a battle right next to a set of trolls while the rest of the main army set a comfortable distance a way and laughed at their p
Really having a great time with the game! Thanks muchly! It started off a bit slow for me. During the campaign I was having some weird rubber banding effects while trying to move through the swampy area. It kind of looked like 3 steps forward 2 steps back for a while. A few times my army stack wandered off in the wrong direction all by themselves! Some kind of weird pathing issues? Hopefully the loading saved game crashes will be fixed shortly. I actually like the sandbox
LOL on the FPS. But seriously, they took XCOM and are releasing that as a FPS, sacrilege!
I had this problem my first run after I updating to 4 from 3C. No techs were listed at all under any category. Starting a new game did not help.
It is random for me. If I start a new game it is OK.
Also one thing I noticed, maybe it is just coincidence, but whenever I play a custom sovereign that I have created in a previous game it almost always crashes early in the game if I try to re-use that sovereign. When I play the pre-made sovereign I get pretty far into the game before it crashes. Could be just my random crappy luck too [e digicons]}:)[/e] Also I just had a game that had loot of (-7.7405 e -259) after a tactical
Elemental is not very happy when I tab out to look at task manager. It crashed on me two games in a row. I started out around1.2 GB, was up to 1.93 GB when I tabbed out. This was very early in the game (first 10 turns). https://dl.dropbox.com/u/9594297/Tab%20out%20crash.txt adding the ini file http://dl.dropbox.c
You know now that I look back at that game, under possible breakthrough, there is nothing under any of the trees. Says 17 turns for Imperium, and 2 turns for all of the rest, but no possible breakthrough? Am I missing something silly here? Under the kingdom report I am tech level 7 under Imperium...
First all, I can't believe someone else has actually played Jeanne D'Arc.
LOL I love that game, but you know what it is that is missing. When a character dies in Jeanne D'Arc, you have one of those "Oh Crap" feelings. When one of my party memebers dies in elemental I have the "Let's see what I can research next" feelings.
I do like how the game is shaping up, but it does not seem clear where the tactical battles are going. It may not be fair to compare it to other games at this stage in the Beta, but there are many tactical battle games that when played compel me to want to play more tactical battles. At this point they almost seem to detract from the game, and I generally want to skip battles for now. They are missing the "fun" element. Thinking back on past games I've played, t
Also, autoresolve doesn't seem to use spells at all?
I did see it using spells in the summary on a few games. Had a party of two, and in the log I would see spell casting, maybe it's just not consistent? Who knows how the AI figures out when to use spells or not?
Yup I had the same problem, I killed all the units except the super powerful archers, that devastated most of my party without me being able to touch them (I had 6 low level units + a summoned bear). It seemed hopeless for me to win, since I could not get close to the archers. The group of Brigands is very overpowered for the early part of the game. 2 of them have 2.5x (21 hit points) the hits of my most powerful unit. Anyhow I hit the autoresolve button after realizin
I am having the same problem. I have 4 research points per turn, and I see the timer bar counting down from 19 turns down on imperium research. It reaches zero and starts over again at 19, research is not completed. First time I have had this problem. Many turns in and I have researched nothing so far! I am not sure how many times it looped through this 19 turn count, it is proably at least 3 for sure, more than likely more than that, was not paying attention. I
