I have not played Gal_Civ_2 yet... waiting for multiplayer. However, CIV_4 has been a fun game... it has some disappointments such as fewer trading options with the AI unless they really love you. In CIV_4 I could offer all my cities in exchange for an AI to go to war with another opponent... but unfortunately they won't trade for the war option unless they like you enough. <br

I'm also in the group asking for multiplayer... if multiplayer is not added many multiplayer gamers will be sending their money to the developers of Space Empires 5 or another space game. From my experience the difference between multiplayer and singleplayer in games: singleplayer is like being on the tennis court and returning shots from a tennis ball shooter_(computer_AI)... multiplayer is like playing tennis matches with family and friends which is not only more fun, but im
One small thing to be remembered. This game lacks multiplayer and due to this fact many 4x players preferring multpilayer did not buy it. They don't post on these forums but still they are prospective buyers. Exactly... how many multiplayer gamers will be visiting a singleplayer game website to vote? Stardock should consider all potentia
The weapon should be brought into the game.... yet have different levels of advancement. Stage_1 Terror Star: has no defensive weapons and can destroy only planets takes 5 turns to fire Stage_2 Terror Star: weak defensive weapons and can destroy only planets takes 4 turns to fire Stage_3 Terror Star: moderate defensive weapons and can destroy only planets takes 3 turns to fire Stage_4 Terror Star: moderate defensive and offensi
IMHO Aliens should look RADICALLY different from humans and have little or no humanoid traits. Why is the humanoid look (two eyes, a nose, a mouth, two arms, etc.) SO prevalent in Science Fiction? I completely agree... so many sci-fi shows and movies have aliens as looking like humans, but with different colors and bumps. <img
I haven't played the game yet... however I haven't seen this AI improvement mentioned so I will suggest the improvement be made. Within most games the AI opponents are at best below average... and one frequent mistake made is the AI opponents should play the same as a human player by joining forces with whatever nation human or computer and focusing on the biggest threat. If someone owns almost half the map the remaining players should work together, yet currently mos
I don't think it is really a question of jewelry OR multiplayer I don't recognize anyone within the topic comparing or debating between jewelry and multiplayer.
The multiplayer poll on this SinglePlayer game website would be the same as Blizzard setting up a WorldofWarcraft poll on the official WoW website asking if gamers would be interested in a SP_ONLY expansion for $20.oo... you can be certain the results would be the same as what was experienced here. Stardock setup a poll which is outside of this singleplayer fishbowl !
We wouldn't make a multiplayer expansion pack for $10. $20 was the absolute minimum that we would have done a multiplayer expansion. And an expansion pack that didn't just have multiplayer would be essentially a $30 expansion pack of which $20 of the value was the multiplayer and we would put in other features (i.e. $10 worth). Multiplayer is an expensive feature. <br/
NTJedi's repeated posts already consume 15 slots. IIRC Brad Wardell already proposed somewhere to include hotseat FOR FREE in late 2006. Since you guys always post here that you are willing to pay for it......he prolly smells cash and changed his mind. I reply when there's a need to explain my opinion and/or reply when someone
Onikazi... he already admitted his mistake within his post. He was merely dropping his opinion of how he and his friends would love multiplayer for the game.
I think they might make PBEM, but it probably depends on their response... meaning if it's politely asked they may feel more inclined to include it in a future expansion... Yes... Hotseat and PBEM would be the easiest to add into the game... especially since a funky workaround hotseat already exists. Stardock could release the HOTSEAT & PBE
Although it would take more processing power, it should still be an option for those of us who love super large maps. One of the best things about Civ 3 was the ability to play incredibly huge maps ( I used to play 300 x 240, or 72,000 squares). Why not leave the decision up to the user, they know if will know if the have the horsepower necessary. <
The game has only been out a few months, and modding is not fully integrated yet. There is alot of talk about creating mods, and people are even forming groups to work on mods. Your assumption that people that play single player will not get together in groups is erroneous. I did not say that... I said " less likely " which is true bec
Hey NTJedi, how about you read Brad's thread on multiplayer, and what he says about it? I've already posted at least twice on both major topics within the Stardock forum. There won't be any multiplayer in the fir
I can understand why people would want to play with family and friends. As far as finding family and friends to play with, sure you may be able to find people that are willing to play the same game for funs, but how many games will you end up playing that way? It's the total time into the game which counts for fun... and what better way for pl
But how many people out there who have full time jobs and families with friends that also have full time jobs and families can find the time to get together and play a game that takes hours and sometimes even days to play. And multi player over the internet is full of problems. Every online multi player site I've ever seen is full of complaints. <br
how would diplomacy work on a another human player? I mean, cmon, if it was a 1 vs 1 and both are human, diplomacy would be completely useless. If I go to you and say "I'll give you beam weapon theory for medium scale building and supreme miniaturization" what are YOU gonna' tell me? Diplomacy would work the same as it does in other TBS gam
Correct my math if it's wrong, but that's 1,000 * $25 (low estimate), so $25,000! Just for adding in MP, and this is just a SAMPLE of the full amount of people who'd purchase it, as obviously not everyone who would buy it voted, by a long shot I'd wager. Say it takes 3 months to code in MP... scaled to a year, that's $100,000 a year. That should cover the person's salary,
One third of them voted for MP. My facts were right. And if it went down to every last person that bought the game, mp would come out as being not worth the time and money spent to create it, when you could do something else that would sell better. Currently " you believe " multiplayer would not be worth it... I will list many w
One third of the community using gc2 said yes, and odds are it'll decrease a lot. It was said that one third is not worth the money, and that was 300 people out of over half a million (I think). If a greater poll occured, MP still wouldn't get enough to make it worth the time. The MP POLL was based on 3000 votes... and 1/3(
1/3 (one-third) of the community has asked for multiplayer... this is a significant amount of gamers considering the game is currently SP_only. If Stardock wants to really consider how importantly significant MP would be then one only has to imagine the flood of complaints Civilization_4 would recieve if their next CIV patch broke multiplayer. If 1/3(one-third) of the USA wanted to start a revolution I guarantee it would get noticed not only by the US government but globally. <br/
Look at it this way....even the shortest game would last hours. Doesn't leave much potential for multiplayer. Wrong... long gameplay sessions currently exists in other successful TBS games such as AOW:SM, CIV_4 and Dominions_3. Dominions_3 can take over an hour to do one turn yet new games are still being played by the multiplayer commu
I agree with many others... the game definitely needs multiplayer
The PLAN to make everyone happy: We have 5 slots. Multiplayer would eat up at least 3 of those slots... Release the first expansion which provides Hotseat as one of the features since a funky workaround already exists that would be only 1 slot... 2 slots if you guys drink heavily at work. This leaves at least 3
