Question on Persistent Multiplayer... Will Multiplayer LAN also be available? I hope so.
I'll keep my eyes open come November... myself and many other turn based communities are eager to hear more about this game.
Thanks Zoomba !
Some questions from a future customer for the fantasy TBS game: 1) Where can we find the most recent information for the fantasy TBS game being developed by Stardock? 2) How can I qualify as a beta tester for the fantasy TBS game being developed by Stardock? 3) Will there be any developer diaries during the creation process of this game?
[quote]The fantasy strategy game is not a MoM sequel. In the same vein, perhaps, but it's a new universe and title of our own. From an interview with Frogboy this summer: Most of our game development team is working on a new fantasy strategy game with a 2009 release date; public beta next year. It’s a turn-based game with tactical combat which is also turn-based. One could describe it as part Master of Magic , part Populous and part X-Com</
I've seen several topics on the Dominions forums from people who could not win the computer AIs from Dominions even after several games. As with any game with SP functionality the AI weaknesses will eventually be noticed. Thus as with most games with SP functionality you simply increase the difficulty, setup alliances and/or other changes to keep the game challenging. The AI for Dominions_3 has been improved to include 3 types of AI: Aggressive, Standard, Defensive. One great feature
All the new features sound great.. except the fact that I still won't be able to play the game against a friend. Boo Hiss! Yes I completely agree.
Thanks so much Caprion ... great information !!
There isnt a game that can not be cracked Very true... any game can be cracked and any CD can be copied. If someone puts up a wall others will find 10 ways to get past the wall. Personally I purchase my games and look forward to buying and playing Gal_Civ_2 if multiplayer arrives. I also encourage those which pirate games to purchase legit copi
Multi-thousand means multiple of thousands and my last view of this poll indicated it did go over 2000 votes. Typo Correction... I meant to write: "Multi-thousand means multiple of thousands and my last view of this poll indicated it did NOT go over 2000 votes."
I have played lots of TBS multiplayer from the original Civ expansion years ago to HOMM to SE and of course Civ 4 multiplayer. I don't have a problem with multiplayer. I'm sorry to see you don't love the game enough to not want to play Gal_Civ_2 with family and friends. Hopefully one of your next projects you'll love enough to want to play with fam
A lot of us play multiplayer games. I play Rise of Legends regularly multiplayer. I love RTS games multiplayer. I don't think there is this great divide. There isn't a great divide... don't recall anyone saying a great divide does exist. Some gamers play games only using the Singleplayer functionality, some gamers play games using both Si
Why are you talking about Space Empires in a forum created solely for the discussion for Galactic Civilizations 2? You must either be pretty dense not to post in the off-topic sections about this game, or a marketing offical for Strategy First. The topic was to compare the two games... to identify the pros and cons of each game thus not off-t
I'd also like to add that multiplayer might SEEM attractive, but the reality is that even in faster paced games like Homeworld 2, its difficult to find an opponent willing or able to sit there with you for the entire length of time required to play a game, and generally such games end up in rush strategies, making a 4X into a 1X game. Many TBS
Regardless of whatever untapped market exists, I think that the point of the poll was to determine whether the existing market for GalCiv2 would prefer to pay for multiplayer in the next game or something else. If your gathering a poll which does not include all potential customers the poll is not accurate. <TABLE cellpadding=8 width
One feature that didn't get as much support as anticipated was multiplayer. Only 8.6% of players listed multiplayer as the feature they'd like to see the most. As mentioned before... this games website is for a singleplayer game which means many multiplayer gamers did not purchase the game and will not be voting in your polls. Multiplayer ga
This topic is two weeks old.... considering the original creator of the topic is gone we can assume he stopped taking drugs and was able to locate the Serial Number. With this in mind... and considering the words within the TITLE of the topic... why don't the moderators delete the topic ???
It's the trrraaavveeellllinnnggg salesman! Just as soon as he posts he will disappear... Obviously he doesn't read the forums that often. I've made many posts in these forums several requesting multiplayer functionality. Looks like some gamers are open minded and interested in other space type games and some are the opposite. It's
Screenshots for the Space Empires V game have been released. Here: http://www.captainkwok.net/feature-se5screenshots.php Space_Empires_V will have tactical battles and multiplayer. I'm interested in both of these games, but haven't played either one yet. What are the benefits of each game?
The copy protection systems mostly just harm the people who actually bought the game. I agree... there's probably hundreds of thousands of game pirates all across the world and I have yet to see any game which has not been cracked. In fact I've heard the more difficult / complex the copy protection the more the pirates see it as a challenge
You misunderstood what I was asking for. Have you ever played the AI on the hardest level on a good Chess game? If you have I am sure you usually lose. The AI takes every possible advantage possible in the scope of the game to win. I want an AI that can do the same thing in the scope of GC2. Programming smart AI for Chess is a million times
Should there be intelligent life out there [and pretty high possibility], there'll probably be things that are humanoid, semi-humanoid, and not humanoid at all, rather than "all aliens are humanoid" or "all aliens are FREAKISHLY DIFFERENT". I completely agree... the gravity, temperature, ground elevation and plant vegetation will ha
I want an AI that is as ruthless as a human. Reading that sentence clearly shows you want an equal or near equal opponent... this will not happen with AI opponents only human opponents. If you know any computer programming you will know that this type of AI will not happen within our lifetime. It will be unlikely even your grandch
True, but havein a ton of built in cheats doesnt help any, I realize most people will want cheats, but after a month or so, you'll never see them here again, unless there posting on how easy the game is. Which IMO its not, unless I use cheats (which I am guilty of some time) ST I've seen serious discussions about disabling/removing c
