Good discussion. Just a note[on-topic]: Squads/Group of units -> I think that each and every unit in a squad should have a separated attack roll / defense roll. 1 att/def roll / squad makes no sense imo.

This mod gonna be awesome! Dragonlance
Yea ... Squads = Gods is kind of a game-breaker to me tbh.
Game-breaker? If the AI will be able to handle squads properly, there won't be any problems with squads. Do not attack an uber equipped squad with a lonely champion. ;)
Quoting mastroego, reply 132 About Heroes of Might & Magic... never tried any of the series. Are those campaign only? Or is there a sandbox mode too? I recommend you HOMM3 Complete. It's for $9,99 in GoG. It has a random map generator, but you don't need it, because there are dozen of good maps that ship with the complete version. The last version of HOMM5 is good to, b
I would rather see forest tiles made useful, as is they're only good for spawning monsters (which is a goldmine but...) and that doesn't work inside your influence anyway.
We don't have economic oriented terrain bonuses in EWoM...also forests are useful, because some buildings [like lumber mills] can be built in forests only.
Sythion, I usually lurk. But you, sir, are a troll.
Well, well...since the game has been released, we have a troll baby boom on the forum. :D
Perhaps pioneers should have the ability to remove forests? :)
*bump* Maybe some new EWoM fans would like to use some of these [OD] icons. :)
It takes like 2 minutes to navigate to the official website and look for patches [= and read the patch notes] on a weekly basis.
OP - You gotta be kiddin'. :P
This is an exerpt from my full post, but I think it deserves a post of its own: My absolute favourite aspect of this game is the Dynasties, fantastic! What I would like to suggest is that when your main character dies (yes, let them die! - in battle or from old age), you can chose a successor - if you don't choose the first in line for the throne, your other offspring may rebel or defect to another faction, plotting vengeance and to capture your throne b
This has been reported already. :)

We all know it. Is there any particular reason why we all can't play Elemental AND Civ V? I fully intend to. I kind of hope Civ V has huge bugs on release, to see if it effects reviews...I'm thinking it won't. And yet, Stardock i
Quoting Raven X, reply 138 Oh, I was just thinking, there really should be Cities on the tactical map when you're fighting in a siege. There should be City Walls that the player can put units on like in Age of Wonders. Just a thought. It would do a lot for tactical combat I think. Also it seems that units can walk through a lot of things on the tactical map. Like rocks and trees and cactus's. Units should have to go
I reinstalled AOW:SM and been killing time with that while waiting for the slowdown fix for Elemental. Shame you can't find it for sale anywhere though. I heard they're going the 'steam' route sometime soon. They've also been working on a new patch for years now but it doesn't look like it'll see the light of day.
There are some excellent & "huge" mods for AoW-SM. ;) *edit* I've missed Pawels' reply. Yep
Wintersong, you can't be serious, can you? Do you actually think that it was not a mistake to release the game without testing it, and that it would not have dramatically increased the fun factor if this cruddy period where the game is finally being tested? You seem like a reasonable person, but again, you have no perspective. Edit: I do not think the OP's post was vitriolic at all.
Actually you
Quoting Akka, reply 52 I also share the OP's thoughts about MoM. But then the problem is : basically, the more I think about it, the more I simply realize that I wanted "MoM 2.0". Basically a graphical upgrade, rebalancing and maybe adding some perks. I'm not sure that I do EWoM justice, because I've a hard time judging it on its own merits and not just comparing it to the "MoM 2" I wanted to get
Doms3 is o ne amongst the best & most complex fantasy TBS games, but it is multiplayer oriented. [The AI is horrible. :)]
That 1UP review talks about the robust multiplayer in the game. It's laughably obvious the reviewer hardly played the game.
Quoting Tormy-, reply 11 OP - You shouldn't worry at all. I am pretty sure that the devs will add lot of new abilities/traits/etc. in the upcoming months. i'm sure they will too. as we can see, the game was rushed/unfinished, yet there's so much similarity already to MoM, it's awesome. once they add the content they've promised, it will be great
EW
Dominions 3 graphics are.........bad imo, BUT the gameplay is what makes people play it for a looong time, bought it last year and just the printed manual was worth the money the game cost, I mean a manual on paper...294 pages....I mean just like the old days, but sadly not played the game so much, but just what I have seen so far is making promise myself going back to play it more.
