Quoting red1939, reply 2 Call me a blashpemer but I never liked AoW. While I admired the art direction, the overall feel of the game and interesting magic system, but I deeply despised the combat feel and it's mechanics. My 0.02€ (don't hate me ). I don't know if it will replace AoW for you, but I've a strong feeling that you might like this game - even if only to some small degree. The second question is
Tormy-
The battles are weird....if 2 big armies clash, the soldiers won't find their way to reach the enemy units..it's hillarious to watch. :D Also...the battle & tactical [overland army management & positioning of the armies] AI is weak imo, and the ranged units are way too powerful as it is now. The economy part of the game is weak also. Everything else is decent. So....if I must rate this game: 70/100.
2 more titles should be on this list: Age of Wonders 2. - Shadow Magic Temple of Elemental Evil

Good post SaberCherry! [e digicons][/e]
Frogboy, you need to check out that new game "King Arthur: The Role-Playing Wargame" for inspiration. They did indeed make what I'd call "Magic: Total War". I also think they stole some idea's from Elemental and were just lucky beating you to release. The battle engine for the game, in appearance, is what I would call "Magic: Total War". In it's use and implementation though it's not quite as deep as a Total War game, but it's close. It has fantasy
The team is starting on tactical battle work. We’ll be talking a great deal with you guys on the battle system in the coming weeks.
Good to hear! [e digicons][/e] Happy Thanksgiving, even tho we don't have something like this in Europe. :D
And we're huge Bioware fans here, so we'd be making a 3rd person view RPG.
Yeah those RPGs are the best [Like ToEE or Dragon Age]...I don't like the first person view RPGs to be honest.
Haha, poor Frogboy. Those PMs must be really annoying. :D
Yeah, excellent game. ToEE is my all time favourite, but DA is almost as good as ToEE. :)
I have a lot of hope that stability will be greatly improved
Indeed. I cannot even complete a single game in Elemental right now, because of the Caravan related crash. :(
Nice post. Well, I think that the release date will be something like 2010 winter, but it's no problem. :)
I like the idea of mercenaries! This was a neat little feature in some fantasy strategy titles. [Including MoM IIRC] :)
Boogie, please fix the crashes also. I cannot complete a game at all in Elemental right now, because of the caravan related crash, what I've reported before. Does that really need to be said I'm sure they will fix as many crashes as they can.
Well huh, I've mentioned it because it's a really annoying crash [Like I've said I cannot complete a game at all because of it], which wasn't fixed in th
Blood Bowl is excellent. The AI is not that bad now, but I usually play it in multiplayer anyways. :)

I mean how will the equipments [various armors & weapons] fit on the very different creature models? Like if someone creates a creature [..as a basic civ unit], which has 2 heads, 4 arms and a huge body for example? which is exactly why I suggeste
As for the Dragon Age DLCs: 2) Warden's Keep ($7) - I got about 2 hours of gameplay out of it (3 if you count that it took me 5 times to finally beat the final battle).
Wow...I completed it much faster in hard mode...[e digicons]^_^[/e]

Like I said I assume so, but I find your comment odd.
It is not, that is true. However right now, combat is heavily RNG based, because of the very few "stats". I like complex games, but I want them to guide me into the complexity (CIV IV does this rather well).
Civ 4. is complex? You gotta be kidding. ;)
oops, dbl post. The forum is hella slow sometimes. [e digicons]
Mods? What the hell? What's the point in creating a topic like this 1y before the release of the game? [e digicons]:omg:[/e]

I don't really care about waves breaking against the shore. It's nice to have gfx features like that, but the gameplay is what matters. I am really worried about the combat system to be honest [It looks like that it's way too simple as it is now], but I have my hopes up of course...:)
