I voted "Good." I skipped beta 2 so that might be coloring my opinion, but it is coming along really well. I think there are still some major balance issues but the core is there. Pioneers should cost a lot more to make, right now there is no cost for extra cities/outposts and pioneers are cheap so the beginning strat for me is to make as many cities/outposts as I can. I think it would be better if it were more like Civ 5 where timing on when to build your sett

+1 on possibility of hero death. Negative traits for falling in combat are great, but so far they don't fall very often for me and the possibility of permanently losing a hero makes them more precious and makes the player give more thought to their odds of survival in each fight. What if we limited the number of heroes per group? Treat them like generals possibly? One hero per party for every three party slots so three heroes to a party at ma
+1 for Mana Caps in tactical battles. If you base it on Intelligence it makes that attribute more attractive and forces you to choose what spells would be most efficient for each battle rather than spamming. I'd also like to point out that Pillar of Flame may be a bit on the strong side; I can cast it once per turn in my own territory and do significant damage to any hostile stack headed toward my cities or armies. It's been quite easy to defend my e
Some good points here. I think larger maintenance coste and more trade offs is the easiest fix. As others have said, if a building has no cost or trade off, it is a no-brainer and should always be built, which is a bad design. I think one of the best ways to make cities more interesting aimportant is to tie the quest and event system to them. I have been arguing for this since he WoM beta. If I build an inn, it shou
I would be careful with per turn maintenance on buildings; especially on growth buildings like gardens and granaries. The growth you would get from a single garden may not equal enough income on the normal tax rate to justify it except for the bonuses to research and production. Per turn maintenance could easily spiral out of control and the only way I can think of to off set that is to increase base income from taxes and merchant class buildings which in turn means that you can f
I managed to work in about 2 hours to get some hands on with the beta and lo and behold I wasn't ready to stop when I need to get to bed (to make it to work today.) The new UI is great all around, the stream lining of different aspects like research and population management is great (less busy work more tough decisions to make.) Character/City leveling is great. I didn't run across any bugs or crashes but I am on the look out for them. Great job! T
I'm trying to not be too anxious, but I am tentatively optimistic about FE. It sounds like you guys are on the right track and I hope that FE is hugely successful.
Well I hope you got a sweet deal out of this Brad. I'm not happy with Gamestop taking over my account management because of past experiences but maybe it will work out. I know that I won't be buying anything else off of Impulse for a while. I'm going to wait and see what kind of changes take place first.
No, I won't use it.
If I had to suggest a change it would be to have the AI seize the settlements, rather than simply raze them outright. That way we could fight to get them back, intact, and not have to start all over. Perhaps the loss of one structure could be implemented as the penalty for being slack in your defense of your newly found Capital.
I like that idea, although I feel like you should lose a number of s
Great news!!! I have been checking back here a couple times a week for updates on 1.11, I was a bit disappointed in the release of Elemental but I can see the potential and I know how you guys treat your customers and games(Gal Civ2). I wish I could take a vacation day for 1.11.
Aye it is the city stat screen; it details what your city is generating and what bonuses it has. I know if you click a city and hit the "more" button on the vitals tab you can get there. I don't know if it lists bonuses from heroes though.

+1 more. Take reviews for a grain of salt. Read between the lines for actual facts rather than opinions.
a few questions: first, its simple to use custom factions, just create and choose them as your opponents, but what about sovereigns? Does the game just randomly assign one to whatever faction(s) oppose you? If so, would there be a simple way to remove the default sovereigns so the game is forced to use all of your own creations? But if this requires something more involved, because the default sovereigns have specialized AI, are linke
Egalitarian should potentially increase your population since that is the associated resource that you draw on to create units, but I don't think that it does

When we capture an enemy city could we get a dialog box with the option to Raze or Keep/Capture? I have razed a few enemy cities because the A.I. doesn't place them in the best spots(imo). This is just a streamlining request; just to save me from a couple more clicks.
