Bah.. I am not going to argue with you e-hero's. If Civ is your favorite game, go post on civ fanatics. If you like Elemental, stay here. The end.

eek.. double post. Sorry.

I think because a lot of folks playing EWoM and discussing it here are hoping that CIV 5 will having everything that they were hoping for in EWoM... That's not to say it will, but damn, that video is just chock full of 'nice touches' that, had they been present in EWoM, would have made the game feel a lot more finishe
Sounds like a mod in the making.
How do the claws work on a person?
I read the whole series. Pretty amazing. Historical fictio
Well, sometimes the best is ignored imo... I highly recommend Glen Cook's The Black Company which makes George RR Martin's books look like the twilight books in terms of lack of conflict, murder, rapes and general wtf ish...
Really... need to check this out.
Thanks for the replies Zorastra and jaythewise. My reading tastes blend in with both of yours quite well with the exception of David Eddings and Kate Elliot. David Farland's are built around a great concept of magic. I have read the first five or six in the "Runelords". I love his take on the magic side and for every plus there is a downside. The more powerful the more your people have to give to make you the way you are. <br /
That's one I hadn't tried. You can sell heroes. I would definitely not rely on a random post like that, though, without saving and reloading if it doesn't work, heh.
It's not random. I've seen the option to do it when you are late enough in the game (i.e. enoigh diplomacy researched). You trade your wife as a hero and propose to another chick. &nbs

Though supposedly, you could sell your wife (while alive) and remarry.
I want epic battles. Not 12 squads vs. 12 squads, but hundreds of my units .vs an elder dragon or something like that.

No because stacks always move at the speed of the slowest unit. At the moment there is even a bug that levels down a unit speed as long as it enters the square of a slower unit, no matter if the previo
How do you fix the outpost spam early on? easy. have the troll city rush units take out these outpost on a regular basis early on in th egame when the player isn't powerful enough to defend them, or the A.I. for that matter. Whatever happened to the spawned mosters attacking your cities?

There is a limit of 12 people/units/creatures per stack. What I'd like is a way to set a hard leader for a stack and keep it that way. I don't care if my great grandson is a lvl one sovreign candidate that is 14th in the line of succesion. If I set him as a inexperienced general, so be it. I guess there could be penalties for things like that and bonuses for experienced leadership, but no such thing exists as of now, so there.
What I saw in the game is that my machine won't be able to run it if I expect anything at all to look good. THey either need to find a way to optomize the graphics and reduce polygon counts, or we with slower machines have to turn everything down and the game loses almost all of it's shine. Which is why I am passing on this game for now.
I use the spell the keeps a foe from retaliating after a hand to hand strike.
What spells would you remove?
Haven't messed with them yet. Frogboy, any chance for a 4th category? a resources editor?
YES!!!
No. You start with one book/school or two depending on faction, or even none.. and go from there. Quests, Dynasty marriages, research open up further spell books. But at later levels. Each school has to be completely unique and there need to be more schools.
There are already some crazy efficient suggestions for how to resolve combat. I will not get into the math of it because those responsible will post here, or you could find their threads. What I could suggest is breaking damage into several things categories. 1) line of sight/distance - the further you are away the less likely you are to hit and do serious damage unless it is a 1/1000 lucky strike. 2) obstacles - reduce the odds of a
HA!!! I was watching a live feed of a Civ 5 gameplay broadcast. 'Lo and behold.. a feature is broken. it works on one computer and not on another. The steam cloud feature doesn't work on everything. No game comes out perfectly. Just sayin'
What an original idea... I wonder where I heard that before.
There is a limit.
