Congrats again! BTW, theres an ongoing thread on this Here , if anyone was interested.
But why not Dawn of War 2?? Because it's not one of the five best games in the last five years.
This. You'd have a better argument for Dawn of War (2004), and Im still not certain that should supplant any of those listed games. Great game though (DOW1).
Quoting Bingjack, reply 12 Yes, I have no problem with your opinion, but your opinion is not supported by the evidence.
My opinion that NWN had a weak single player game compared to BG is supported by the fact that nobody ever talks about it in regards to it's single player RPG. Find any professional list of all time greatest RPGs, and BG2 is right up there somewhe
Yes Please.
Btw, I have already laid out several significant reasons why the single player RPG of NWN was not nearly as good as BG2, in previous posts, if that is what's bothering you. I could list many more, if you really wanted me to. But I don't think thats really going to serve anything, do you? You're not really interested in hearing them are you? I dont think that would have made you any happier about my opinion. But if you want me to write
Then I could say the same for my *opinion*... sorry but your *opinion* is not the almighty word of truth.
As I ninja edited above, its not like I said NWN turns people purple. I said its single player RPG was weak. There is no way that can be interpreted as anything other than subjective. Everyone else on the net seems to know that things we w
You've also made some subjective comment without evidence: Such as "NWN was certainly driven by its multiplayer, as the single player game was very weak." If you were to post that topic on the NWN forums you'd be shreaded. While NWN was more multiplayer focused the singleplayer game was not very weak.
I don't need evidence for my *opinion*.
This is just me dropping my unsolicited 2 cents here, but for future polls, I'm not sure if it's the best policy to post results as you go when the polling is still in effect, if you want people's honest, initial reactions to the questions. Seeing results have a way of influencing the results of subsequent votes, either from bandwagon or contrarian mindsets. Nice work on the poll though!
I feel badly that we have allowed Hortz to completely hijack the thread, and manage to turn it into a clone of the one that was locked. Apologies to the OP and the rest of the board.
Jeez Hortz, give it a rest why dontcha. Nobody here is buying what you're peddling. And by peddling, I mean "spamming and trolling over the whole board." To the OP, welcome to the boards, and I just wanted to point out, theres a forum for "Elemental ideas", where the Devs are anxious to hear all your suggestions.
Alpha-testing is not "fun".
Getting first hand, *high impact* (your feedback *will* matter, not lost in a sea of voices) input into shaping and refining the foundation of a rare game while it's still malleable, that you're going to be playing a lot of, for years... ... is very "fun".
I'd be curious what you guys think about this subject as the beta's move forward...big expansions or micro?
Im sorry to be late with this, but I'd just like to say that "micro expansion" or "episodic" situations im familiar with, never seem to end up giving you as much new content over the same development lifetime, as the traditional full "expansion" model for popular games. I mean, you seem
Obviously anybody who says anything in this thread is concealing that they're in the alpha. But they're the easy ones. What about those shifty silent types that aren't talking? Those are the ones we really need to go after!
So to sum up, people posting in this thread are in the alpha. Anyone *not* posting in this thread...also in the alpha. I think you're on to something.
I have mixed feelings about DA:O ... I do like how it's more tactical like BouldersGate, but sad there's no multiplayer such as what was available in BouldersGate or Neverwinter Nights. The majority of content creation comes from the multiplayer community... so while there's a better a game editor it will never come near providing as much user made content, areas, and modules as what we see with&
Obviously any forum members on the Alpha testing will be silent.
Perhaps you are just cleverly saying that because *you're * in the Alpha... [e digicons] I'm on to you.
Im looking forward to this game and finally... I CAN GET NEW GAMES ON MY SWEET NEW PC! WOOT! But I do have a question... is Steam or Impulse getting this game...? or is there no word on that yet? I have looked but seen nothing about it so far... Thanks.
Theres no official word as far as I know, but Steam is a virtual certainty. Impulse...? Who knows. But
Ow, damn! I was going to get Dominions 3, but $55?!? Holy crap. I don't think I've payed that much for any game except Rock Band/Guitar Hero. $30 I'd blow for the hell of it on a game, but $55 takes it out of the range of a "something to toy with" purchase.
I think the price is largely due to the rather "epic" manual it ships with. There doesnt appear to be a digital version...if so, Id imagine it to be cheaper.&
Since I consider Baldur's Gate 2 one of the great classics of video gaming, I am looking forward to Dragon Age. However, I hope that it is more like Baldur's Gate then Neverwinter Nights, which I personally consider the low point in Bioware's evolution.
\ It is much closer to BG , than NWN. NWN was more revered for its multiplayer and it's online content creation tools, than its single player RPG gameplay, which
Oops, looks like I voted too late :/ [e digicons]:pout:[/e]
http://elementalgame.com/media.asp I don't think that anybody likes this minimalistic rudimentary cartoon style of graphics. I hope that animations will be very good and detailed because at this point the animations are the only thing that can save this game. Do you agree? Also how come Stardock expects that people go from superb King's Bounty: The Legend to this graphics? Like I said, the on
It looks like next year will be the best year ever (for me at least) with releases. I only wish I had more free time to play games (thinks to self - I really should get in the game business). Let see... DA:O STO SW:TOR E:WoM That is two MMO and two strat titles.
Bioware has said that the only DRM on the Box Dragon Age game will be the traditional simple disk check. No activations or anything. If what you say is true, I will be the happiest man on earth later this year. Although if they are simply wordsmithing here (and just mean for example constant internet connection for single player), t
Hmm...well, what do you like...what do you want to play? Primarly TBS and the occasional RPG. I hate RTS with a passion bordering on irrationality, so while Knights of Honor has some good mentions here, I know I'd hate it. I played Dominions 2, but I might check out 3. Played GalCiv I&2 and Space rangers. Good stuff. Sadly, I've already played Armegeddon Empires and now I'm looking forward to Vic's next game later this yea
@Bingjack - Hmm... Maybe you misread my post or are reading too much into it. .
Maybe. But what I've *definitely* done is engage in a heated debate about a *game* in the wee morning hours after gettting back from a night on the town, and as a result gotten *way* too argumentative about it( not to mention long winded). I stepped over the line in tone and forcefulness, and I apologize to you an
