Yes, I've seen an AI faction get nailed on Turn 1, and I LOL'ed. I believe lair monsters are still kinda tame to the AI's as I haven't witnessed any AI outposts or cities get crashed by monsters.
After playing the new version i noticed that the game is much better balanced, but to archieve this balance the power of many traits and items has been reduced. This makes reaching a new level or finding a new item less interesting and sometimes boring. I think your design goal "Go big or go home" is great and should be applied to the traits and the items, too: - Hit points, accuracy, ... should not scale with the level - The level

Yes I love the way its going. You can say its headed in the right direction. For me the elephant in the room is still spells. I noticed that each faction has some of their own, this goes a long way to fixing it.

From what I take of it, Factions do start too close. I happen to agree. You can whack enemy heroes at any level is the problem (And they can do same to you). I think they should not be visible/whackable to other side unless they themselves have the techs to see/recruit that level of hero if it were the same side. I really hate getting stuck with Sov plus the level 1 chump I recruited at beginning of game. And some of those guys c

Is it really an exploit though if you have to spend 2 points at Sovereign creation? I think not. This could be by design. I could take those points and spend them better. So, I'm going with not an exploit..

I'm going to guess cause we cant download .913 is why. And/or they made even more changes, going to update later on down the line. [e digicons]:meow:[/e]
I can't say I've ever found Influence to be that useful, anyway I seem to always get the same building choices on level-up, and none of them are ever that inspiring, even at high level. I tend to grab the Almhouse, but I never seem to spend the influence.
I find I need 20 here and there to build certain buildings, but no need to really amass a horde of it.

Should be a bit more variation in the fertility possibly some 6s and 7s if you pick fertile. Balanced, the number of tiles like that may be single digit in total (but they're out there somewhere ) Production, why not have some 5s ? Some games I'm lucky to get a 4/2 on balanced.. I settled for a 3/3 once, it seems kind of petty all for 1 digit but thats probably the first and most important choice since your

It's got potential. The ball is still in their court. I'm fairly confident that when it is done it will be great not just good and I am basing that off of some of the faction love and differentiation, new spells, items, etc. They're on the right path and game is getting better and better every update.

I totally agree that its no fun to have powerful creatures near your start. Also, being able to have some half decent champs/heroes would help. They need to start better kitted out for adventuring (equipment wise should have a couple armor pieces in addition to their weapon) . Getting owned by a dog is no fun.

The other way you could limit the outposts is to make them cost money for upkeep. I would then argue a bit that you should get a free defender or two since we're talking paying for it. But yeah, it won't take long to go in the hole if you spam.

Having played a game recently to specifically keep an eye out for it, I noticed the low level rat quest will allow you to get a one time gift of 20 influence or you can take a weapon or some gold. This would allow you to build one building requiring influence if memory serves. I remember being able to buy influence in Elemental, so I imagine you can part with gildar for some if one of the other AI's have it. That is if you want to be nice to that particular AI. &

I had a similar encounter where a AI sov hid out in another AI's territory. I found this out after I took over all its towns. I guess technically the Sov could found a new city somewhere if it made it to some open space, yeah? I was able to defeat the AI again and having no city to flee to - finally registered as defeated.

I would completely agree there with your points. Playing as Procipinee once or twice already, I wouldn't blame the AI for its choices. (Insert slight jab at current magic and spells still pretty much bleh ) As a side note I generally don't have a huge number of heroes, for a good bit it's the dude who shows up near the Sov when game starts. They're like completely random. 9 times out of 10 I

Well I'm glad you took the time to say it. You did so more eloquently than I would have plus there's pictures. I agree completely with the UI and also like where you are going with the city level up bonuses.

I would not like to play with this suggestion and that's how I feel about it. Since my heroes get spanked and penalized already, losing them would be even more of a setback and I'd start hating the game.

I voted fair for now. My own opinions are that the game needs the attention on the factions, spells, items and monster rebalances. Magic seems underwhelming. Game seems progressing towards better, but not there yet. Other thing, not sure its been mentioned in this thread is wounds. Needs to be made so that there's a way to eventually remove them from champions who lost a fight. I'm just saying from my own exp

I would like to comment on Stoneskin. I just hope its not cookie cutter-ish and wish the sovs had other things to use or try than that. Cause if it its not SS (Stone Skin) there's an armor enhancing spell thats been used and abused to the gazillionth time. Other thing is that Burning Hand doesn't seem to provide as much attack as SS does for defense. But I do agree with you on the Hit Points, I'd like to see higher hps. &nbsp
