so... do you like being wrong? Hi Dystopic, please let's be nice Prices increase due to the increase of money supply by central banks, inflation is always and everywhere a monetary phenomenon. That's why the value of gold is solid and the dollar will at some time be worthless. You always have to deflate prices, and that is what you do with a CPI index to

What I meant was that people in the 10th percentile can now afford things the 90th percentile from a generation a go could only afford, for example going three times a year on a holliday (perhaps this is only possible in Europe with the vast amount of leisure time we have compared to the US). Another example, a generation ago people had to spend a much bigger share of their income to food, over a generation this has dropped considerably, the same goes for transportation etc..
As to morale once more, does the average morale rating of your empire count for each individual planet's population growth rate. Or does the specific morale rating for a particular planet determine its growth rate? Thanks for your answers in advance!
As an professional economist I would have to argue that everyone should be paid according to their marginal productivity. Some interesting facts: - the poor people in the Western world are richer than the 90th percentile in the developing countries - Within Western countries poor people (10th percentile) today are as rich as rich people (90th percentile) a generation ago. Just ask what your parents had and how many times they could go on a holliday to a different cont
Wyndstar, thanks for your AAR, please keep posting them. I would appreciate a new one, especially one that applies the only manufacturing strategy.
good question!
At 50% you get no pop growth bonuses. I thought it was 40%, at least it was this in Dreadlords. Has this changed with Dark Avatar or the newest patch for Dreadlords, because I don't have the expansion and/or the newest patch yet.
Thanks for all of the replies thus far, hope there will be more to come. Unfortunately I do not plan to spend more than € 350 on a single screen. Do all games, also the ones from 2 years ago, support widescreen monitors? Which manufacturer do you prefer? Besides galciv2 (of course) I wish to play fps on this screen.
Hi guys, I would like to hear your thoughts on this issue: wide screen ('vista ready') vs 4:3 (usual format) monitors. What do you prefer? Which one would you buy if you were to buy a new one? Let me know the pro's and cons. Thanks in advance!
This discussion shows why I argued for a less complicated combat system. Why does it have to be so complex?
Although I think I understand the combat system in DA and DL, I fear that most players won't. In my opinion it has become too difficult for the average player to grasp the depth of the system.
Pff that is not good, anyone from stardock wants to react?
In reaction to the previous reply, in my opinion asteroids must not become too important. This would imbalance the game and won't be 'realistic'.
I like your idea and support it. The books are great! Unfortunately I also don't possess the skills your asking for. Maybe someone else?
Hi, Can anyone from stardock please provide a link or if that doesn't exist an overview with the changes from Dreadlords v1.4 to 1.5? I am curious.
What is the use of a city class ship? Are these new in DA?
and c) higher tax income
Good thinking, would be nice if brad would give his reaction.
Thanks for your guide. Although I know many of your strategies it was nice to see these confirmed. Furthermore the ship buidling advice at the bottom was an excellent read. I hope there will be more versions. At what difficulty level do you play your games?
Kyro thanks for your support!
I asked the same questions a few days ago. look at this post for the answers from stardock: WWW Link
Why are new buildings on low-population outpost not worth it? (I read this in some other post) I thought that people only deliver money via taxes and that production is just matter of building stuff and of course directing money to it via expenditure sliders. So my question is: how are production and population of a planet linked? Are they linked at all? Thanks for your (potential) replies! (Hope this is not a newbie question)
Does anyone know how to defrag(ment) your swap file/page file/virtual memory? Thanks in advance! (a lot!)
Kyro, thanks for your quick answer. And I will not revive old posts in the future (I know I am good at that ). Nevertheless I am curious how you determine and fix the largest size you expect to need? What is meant by fixing? I would appreciate anyone's thoughts!
