With Kickstarter being such a huge hit (or fad) I think it'd be a perfect time for a remake of Master of Orion II. MOOII was one of the greatest games (especially strategy games) ever. It's funny that so few games are made to the level that they were back then. I know it has something to do with the way they're developed but I really can't help but think that the talent has gone elsewhere. Brian Reynolds, the creator of Alpha Centauri and Rise of Natio

Woops, thought they were the same thing. It was the newest Master of Mana that I had tried, I was using the terms inappropriately. I had downloaded it from that subforum linking to the website. But, yes, found it a little too complex... interesting but complex. I know my MP friends wouldn't be able to get into it, FFH is hard enough as is. That being said, it looks like the most complex, magic heavy sort of mod for a good singleplayer game. <p style="padding-left: 30
In the Elemental downtime I've recently started playing Fall from Heaven ( http://forums.civfanatics.com/forumdisplay.php?f=190 ) again after a long sabbatical from it. I'd actually forgotten how much fun it was and how great a game can be. Recently I've tried the Fall Further From Heaven Mod ( http://forums.civfanatics.co
Must agree about the movement speeds, sometimes it's just too slow. I really think the game would benefit from some civilization style (build-able) roads. That being said, Elemental's "Engines" are horses ... as much as I hate using horses.
Awesome. Going to read this now. Can't wait for another Simcity Game. Gaming just hasn't been the same since they stopped making them.
Simcity 4 sucked, and so does Cities..IMHO anyway. I hate the class aspect, and i hope 5 does away with it, i still play simcity 3000!
Them is fighting words (at least, the Simcity 4 part)! But seriously, what class aspect didn't you like?
Yeah, had this problem to. Was going to report it and then saw this. Also, same/similar problem when creating a new Kingdom/Empire and selecting traits. I think it fixes if you switch pages.
I'm sick of the sites that are making passwords " at least 7-8 digits, at least one number, at least one letter, a symbol, have at least one upper cased letter, can't be a previous password, can't include your name, can't be something common, can't include birthdates, can't use the letter R or Z, and you have to create it within seven seconds or the
The timing of this couldn't be worse for Israel considering the situation in the middle east. It's been scary before but if Anonymous can interfere then it's downright dangerous. I wish they'd quit targeting our governments, states (Alabama? REALLY? C'mon!), and Federal Agencies and do something productive. They're no Robin Hoods and it feels like they've been corrupted by their power and prestige. Typical.
I downloaded this demo and have been following Crusader King's II's development for a while but, unfortunately, find that I don't really have any idea what I am doing in the game. Are there any YouTube video's that sort of describe how one plays this game? Also, there needs to be more that your King/Lord can do. Anyways, I'll probably wait until there is a Game of Thrones or LotR mods or when I can just create a new game (ala Civilization). I have no care for these
The world has yet to become the Utopian Disney paradise we were so accustomed to when growing up. The reality is that people we're likely being killed in Iran and Syria because America's attention was turned to the Super Bowl. Everything is much more grey in reality. History is marred by these stories and the plight of workers to unruly and "evil" corporations. Hell, one look at labor laws makes employment seem depressing.
Oooh, giggity.
Sounds like you are a Sorcerer due to the focus on magic. How do you usually find your playing in games like Civilization IV or V? Warmonger, isolationist, diplomat, ect? In FE I usually start off an Isolationist and quickly evolve into a Diplomat to stay competitive. I try to remain Adventurous to complete quests and ge
Check the STEAM forums for more information about Evochron. I have bought it and it's "decent" not great. It has some elements from Eve, X3, and some of the older space games. The combat isn't bad, you can make your own ships, multiplayer is kinda fun, you can visit planets (through atmosphere), mining and resource gathering, and the galaxy is pretty dynamic. Unfortunately, the interface sucks and it has a bit of a learning curve. It's a game I'll be keeping my eye o
I believe these sovereigns have bonus attributes to accomedate... but this may not be intentional.
That is awesome.
So, I was just looking over some code and coming up with a modding document for sovereigns, NPCs, and units and came across a code that defines the personality for each sovereign. There seem to be 15 and they are the following: Adventurous Aggressive Builder Diplomat <p style="pa
Disclaimer : This is basically my notes on for sovereigns, much like the one I did for WoM. Expect this to be WIP and feel free to add to it. Goal : To encourage sovereign, unit, and NPC modding and to make more interesting and unique characters. TO DO : Get normal NPC da
I don't like it. We already have a completely artificial "army size" limit, and it completely breaks immersion.
Agreed, Plus, I'd like to be able to have my King and his most loyal Knights riding out together on quests to save the world. One hero per army balances stuff but ruins gameplay.
Yeah, being able to build roads would be very helpful. Why no improvement system like Civilization 4? That really worked perfectly, imo.
At least you've got some resources (food or iron). I had one where I was entirely surrounded in enemies with no resources AT ALL. However, I wasn't on a tiny coast like that.
Merlin has become my favorite TV . It REALLY picks up after the first season as Arthur gains more authority and power. I find it a brilliant story about Arthur coming to power and Merlin discovering his magic. Outside of First Knight I don't know a thing about the King Arthur story so I'm not bothered by the cannon being off. I also really appreciated how they portrayed Uther Pendragon as a pretty Lawful Neutral King who just wants his people to be safe but goes about
5, 2, X . X = Return or re-implementation of the dynasty system . Mind you, this time balanced and more interesting. I think RangerX7 voted a 3.
As previously stated I liked Kamamura_CZ suggestion about weapon differentiation based on damage types. I think with a greater variety of weapons that have more interesting and impactful effects you could have a more interesting combat experience. I think the Armies should be reworked so they are more viable. Per
You can have a tactical RPS with more then 3 elements. You cannot have it with less then 3.
Sure you can. And claiming RPS can have more branches basically defines every game under a RPS game. Every game can have RPS elements but that doesn't classify them as RPS. Also, the RPS "orientation" in Galactic Civilizations 2 is due to the fact that if someone builds a fleet of Laser ships you will have to build
I said Gal Civ 2 was RPS "oriented", the shield vs. laser (-> shield wins) was somewhat a RPS system just implemented at a 2X level instead of 3x... there was no more thought behind it, no variety, no fun. It was boring. You may be explaining a completely different system then that but RPS is, at its core (and imo), boring. It needs to be more complex then that. You can easily argue that the Total War series has some RPS elements such as spears beat horses, that fine and
