i fear that the game is for the most part feature locked at this point, but i have hopes for an expansion pack!

As it stands tactical battles are much better than they were in WOM, but they still need some improvement. I really like the initiative system, and the new abilities. these give us some tactical options, but there are a few things things that i think would make it go along way to being better. 1: Most importantly; the battles need attack of opportunities. this is vital in how you set up your attac
so far i am really enjoying the beta, but some suggestions i would make are this. 1: since Fallen Enchantress no longer uses the dynasty system i think the passage of time should change from each turn being a season to each turn being a day. to me this makes more sense and would allow for #2. 2: if each turn were a day then seasonal changes could have
i agree about the heroes being too powerful to soon. i vote for a level progression thats 1/4 slower than it is currently and increasing the rarity of the more powerful items.
Issue 01: New units appear outside of the city. In may case each time I train a unit they are killed by the monsters that await outside the city.
actually i think there is an option that you can toggle that spawns them inside the city.
wow after reading that i think you may have actually pulled off having your cake and eating it too. so excited to give the beta a try. i love how you can customize as much as you want, but at the same time if you want to just play a game without spending all that time thinking stuff up you can still have a great experience. that's some excellent game design, kudos!
actually i think i am glad that the tactical maps aren't generated on the fly. it assures me that they will prob all be pretty good, my only concern is will there be enough so as to avoid "arrow to the knee" syndrome.
looking good! very excited to play it.
sounds good to me.
this is cool and all, but i worry that the game will just be about teching up to a more powerful weapon. i understand that this is gonna happen to a certain degree, but i was really wanting the weapons to have different strategic uses. an example would be daggers. i don't want daggers to just go away because you got swords now. i want a reason to have daggers over swords. maybe a bump in speed or dodge or something. maybe
yeah i think it would be cool if a group of monsters from a lair attack a town and if they destroy it, it becomes ruins and hence another lair! this way monsters could even take the world back over if they get lucky to get that one outskirt town that you didn't defend very well.
well its a pretty big change from what windows always has been. i don't see people giving up windows 7 for this anytime soon.
hmm doesn't mention weapons. you gotta have weapons. not gonna live long if you can't defend your self.
thanks brad, that was a fantastic response. it really is an unfortunate situation with the personnel issue. i hope that you guys can find some talented people that you need.
i understand that things turn out the way they do. i don't have any real hard feelings about it, but its just that i haven't heard anything new about multiplayer in quite some time. i guess i just want to know if you guys are still working on it or have put off development of it. i check the change logs and i haven't seen anything in there regarding multiplayer in a while. since 1.3 will be game changes will that include mult
very pretty. super excited for FE!
all you can do is post your saves, dump files, direct x information etc. in the support forums and hope for the best.
yeah we all had high hopes for multiplayer. only stardock knows at this point the plans they have for it. maybe they want it to fade from memory, or maybe they have bigger plans. i wish someone would just post the plans they have, like it or not. its the speculation that's driving me crazy.
looks interesting, gonna keep my eye on it!
The requirement for FE is that it must be awesome. That will determine the release date on it. It is substantially different from WOM though. So far, quite a bit more like MOM than WOM was.
[e digicons][/e]
They should just take out MP altogether. Nobody really plays it and it's just a waste of resources to include it in these types of games. Put those resources and time spent programming MP into the single player AI you promised you wouldn't take away from time on the single player game for multiplayer anyways Brad. So just can MP and let's get on with a great single player experience.
<span style="font-size: small;"
i agree as well. i love playing large games of AOW: shadow magic with a friend of mine. i just wish the AI was better. its fun to play a long game over the course of a month.
Quoting Kadrium, reply 46Derek, one thing I'm concerned about is tech research being a bit to automated. If the entire tree is visible from the start, it seems like it would compel the player to look down to the end of the trees, pick the end game tech they most want, and let the auto-pathing handle it from there on out. The system actually seems to discourage you from changing research strategies mid game, as there will be no surpri
yeah, i am loving this approach. as long as you keep the random techs i am all for it. one of the most important replayability factors for me is for each game to have something new and different. also it seems like i am gonna be spending more time researching tech. the one thing i dislike about the current game is that you research everything way to fast. i like having something to research throughout the whole game no matter how m
this is both funny and disturbing.
