Could I talk anyone into making a Hard Drive light widget or DX object. When my laptop is in it's dock it cover up the hard drive activity light. It would be incredibly helpful to have an indicator o the desktop, or even better, in the system tray to indicate hard drive activity. Thanks a bunch...

Hey everybody!!! It's been too long since I posted here. I started my own business and got real busy. I trust all is well. I can't make my own skins worth a dime...but I can edit tape. I recently went on a mission trip to Kenya and decided to make a music video when I got back. It's real fast, so don't blink. AudioA rocks. Let me know what you think! It's about 30mb so if you're on dialup...forget it!

Macs have their advantages...PC's have their advantages. Gateway has no advantages...except price! And Marcie Helen is right...you get what you pay for! The difference between a $1000 laptop and a $1300 laptop is night and day. Yes, I agree...the GW's look godd and their cheap but the last GW laptop I ordered went back to GW 3 times in less than 6 months. First it overheated, then the screen went black, then the modem wouldn't receive a dial-tone, (tha

I hope you all are able to figure out what works. The fact is Brad, any plan you try will be met by people slamming it and saying that it isn't fair. (I'm not suggesting that anyone is doing that in this thread) Being that I don't make skins I don't feel it is appropriate to add any comments as to an appropriate way of offering any type of compensation. But, I will offer this...it is great to see WC willing to thank the authors of so many great skins some compensation for their great work. I am

Can the walls be changed and use walls created by DB for widescreen displays. My laptop has a 17 inch widescreen display and DB is a great place for walls with me in mind. Would it make any difference if I said I currently subscribe to DB?

Please forgive me if I sound bitter...I'm really not. I have a significant amount of respect for anyone who is a Professional Sales Person. Emphasis on professional. As stated earlier...it is a bit of a lost art. Professional Sales is not a game. Those people who are good at it deserve a handsome reward. My gripe, frankly, is with those who are professional sales BULLIES. Those people I have NO respect for and care to distance myself from. It is those

Bill S...my question to you is this...Is it the local franchise training them in that way or is it OC Central? Anyone with half a brain, that knows anything about proper selling technique knows that these tactics won't work. They will only cause the problems that you see in this thread. And you seem to have forgotten to look at things from your customers point of view. Another major mistake. From your customers point of view, they were abused by a sale

Nice, that you can use God as a crutch to not make a decision. Funny how you think that any decision made won't be made by God. He made the decision to allow you to post and he made the decision to put air in your lungs this morning. Don't take it for granted...less the air in your lungs may be taken aw

I specifically was thinking about a theme that would come pre-packaged. That you could simply unzip and it would apply itself like an Iconpackager theme. Yes, windows has the ability to add sonic themes...but how do you package them in a zip file and can you use mp3 files. Yes, Windowblinds also allows you to use sounds in it's system as well...but can it access all the different parts windows for sounds, such as startup and shutdown. Again, the emphasis is on a package that could incl

I've always wondered why Stardock has never done an application like IP that could be called sound packager. Is it due to file size limitation? Is it due to lack of "Sound Engineers" who would create a "Sonic Package" that wouldn't create copyright issues? I would not be able to create a WB package or anything that required "Drawing Skills" but I know all about sound and could certainly create a sound package. And an original one at that! Has Stardock ever tried to create such an applic

Thanks again everyone. Essencay...your right. I'm going to pitch to them my rate and offer to service them. Some of their equipment is so old that a lot of it has reached end of life. Plus, I have tons of software tools they don't really know about or how to use. I really wish them no ill will. The people are good people. The management staff are good people too...they are just trying to do too much with too little. I've learned that there is no money in selling items. TTech Systems wil
