Well, had to do a clean install of windows to get rid of the problem. Since my printer installed some extraneous stuff that I never used, I uninstalled it, and then it kept trying to re-install and was messing up alot of stuff. Arggh! But all is well now, and my icon libraries are back and working properly.
boopish
Thanks Boss...gonna quit for tonite and get a fresh look at things tomorrow.
Tried that...it ignored the library file completely!! I keep getting a msg that no icon package was found in the file, but when i open it in Icon Developer, it shows up as an icon library. Any ideas as to how to fix this? I already tried an uninstall and reinstall via stardock central. Nothing changed. I am about ready to give up on icons!!!
Last week I had a hard drive problem and had to re-install everything. Luckily I had most things backed up (lost a few on my newest things though ) but here's my problem...some of my icons were saved as icon library files. I thought they would automatically be imported into Icon Packager when I reinstalled (they were saved in the icon packager themes file). I was m
Mystery solved!!! Quick Projects is something associated with my HP printer...a something that I have obviously never used. It's part of the HP Image Zone (also something I have never used) that must not have installed properly. This little annoyance is now fixed. Thanks for all the help and advice.
yup..checked all the usual suspects...including adware, spyware etc...and Ad-awre is my first line of protection...then run the new microsoft antispyware then my virus scanner...all turned up zip, zilch, nada.
Oh thank the gods!!! Thought I was really losing it!!!That or aliens had been tinkering with my 'puter
Did a clean install and now everything is working better - but my glassy clock and victorian clock have no hands!!! Have tried uninstalling and re-downloading them, but to no avail. It's a mystery!!!!!
It's gone now...but did a clean install of everything - must have been a glitch in my system. Odd thing is that my glassy clock (adni) and my victorian clock no longer have hands even though I re-downloaded and re-installed them. Now that is a mystery!
Ran a virus scan and it came up with nothing. same for the anti spy ware. but will run again in the am just to be sure/ Still confused and a little befuddled by this one.
Will do - things have been going a little wonky lately...
Yummmm - now I have to break into hubby's secret (or so he thought) stash of coffee from Kona!!! Gotta have that Macnut!! Macnut -ooohhhhh that makes me think pie....as well as coffee.... Still haven't quite gotten this figured out - now SD keeps asking for something called Quick Projects....I think I am going to have to do a clean system reinstall if this keeps up!! Good thing I have lots of chocolate on hand!!!
Had to do a re-install of icon packager and my utopia and orion icons - no problemo, had the disks and the registration letter...or so i thought It hung installed a couple and then I got an error msg that I had to reinstall Stardock Central. So I uninstalled everything and then uninstalled-reinstalled SC. Problem is, I kept getting this msg that "Windows is loading Quick Projects..." then it stalls, asks me for a disc (Iput my OB Desktop disc in) a
Nope, definately meant Objectbar. Did another uninstall and reinstall and got it to finally show desktopx widgets, but now my clock shows up - but has no hands!!!! The silica clock works great...but not adni's glassy clock. And yes. I uninstalled and reinstalled the widget numerous times. This is just fustrating...need more chocolate and coffee!!!
Had a little problem, so uninstalled objectbar and then reinstalled. So far so good - until I wanted to put my nice little glassy clock and recycle bin back onto to bar. They weren't listed in the plugins , so went to desktop x, loaded them (they were still there) and I tried dragging them on. Yup, that didn't work either. What's up with this? I uninstalled and reinstalled twice more and still couldn't get it to work like it did before. Made sure
These 419 scams are annoying - I get about 6 a day!! You can inform your local police fraud squad. Many departments are set up to track these and get them at the source. A flood of them increased after 911 and again after the tsunami in Asia with pleas for aid.
Thanks. I thought that might be the case, but wanted to be sure!
Thanks - it worked and I am happily recoloring. Just to be on the safe side, I printed out this thread and have it handy! As for backing up or having your packages located somewhere else, I can't agree more. I keep a backup of all my stuff on DVD, and a separate hd. After having a couple of complete computer meltdowns (one caused by my dumb mistake of deleting a file I didn't recognize - turned out to be part of the new Vaio's restore inf
Thanks, people! I definately needed to read a little more carefully and you can be sure that now I will be sure to follow exactly - and triple check my spelling before I push that submit button!!!
Thanks - it worked!!! Have no idea why, but thought I could use the same progress bar for everything! Now that I have that little thing worked out, they are fine! Again, thanks for all the help! PS how does one go about correcting spelling mistakes on screenshots once they are submitted?
Thnaks will try that! B
Something is really messed up with my bootskin program --I know it worked before, but here's the prob: I made four new bootskins using the same formula set out in the tutorial and even double chedked with some others I made - the preview looks great. But when I log off, and re-boot, the skin is blacked out! I can see the outlines, but it seems to have a mask or whathave you overit! I did have a major system problem earlier this week and had to rein
SD, glad you are feeling better!
Nevermind....I must have set something wrong when I was checking the import( I was working on my import of a vs and was checking everything to be sure there was no "pink" showing in anywindow and that everything was working correctly) I reverted to an earlier save and all was well again. I rechecked twice, and couldn't reproduce the problem, so am at a loss as to why it happended. And it was limited to Firefox - IE was fine. But I
So, got two imports almost finished..."Tempted" works great for everything (but I think the font is still a little large for 1024, but it's really readable in 1280) even firefox; but i"m having a wee spot of trouble with "Javan" - the menus's in firefox just pull down a nice little line...no items, just a line. Where did I go wrong?
