Glad everyone is ok! This past week we have been dealing with smoke from all the forest fires here and on the mainland. Last Sunday looked like the apocalypse was upon us or we were trapped in the land of the living dead (come to think of it, I did see our local Zombie Response Team down by the oceanfront) as this massive grey green, orangish cloud rolled in and blotted out the sun. Made for some spectacularly eerie sunrises and sunsets. Rain today is
Thanks to everyone who backed this project as it exceeded it's goal and is a GO!!!!! YEAH!!!! I am eagerly awaiting my "swag" and getting my photos ready for the mosaic and the "placement" somewhere in the documentary! Now, where did i put that communicator button and my "Medical blues"?
Thanks for those who have backed this project! Spread the word as only 50 hours left to go and goal is near!!!! Pledge what you can to get this project funded!
Forgot to mention the project was started by Adam Nimoy and has some great incentives for "backers". I hope this gets done.
I, like many of you, am a huge Sci Fi fan and it all started with "Star Trek". My kids grew up loving it and now my grand kids are following suit. I admit it, I cried when they killed off Spock, and was overjoyed when they brought him back and felt as if a family member had passed when Leonard Nimoy died. Never missed an episode or a movie - and have them all. First on VHS and now DVD and digital. Never had the chance to meet him, or any of the actors for tha
Nothing special in my neck of the woods. A tad cooler than it usually is, but that's it. the West coast of Canada is pretty same old, same old.
Starkers, get well. It is easy to say, and so very hard to do. I have way too much experience with this disease. Runs in the family. My son was diagnosed at 15 with clinical depression and severe social anxiety. He spent almost three years in his room as we desperately sought help and guidance. Young people slip through the cracks. He struggles everyday. When we don't hear from him - we worry and if we can't get in touch - panic se

I have a hard time with ratings. When I rate, and I know I should more often; I don't want to rate too low because someone took time and effort with their work, but neither do I like rating too high - because there is always room for improvement. I try to look at a piece objectively- and not the author. For wallpapers I look at colour - does it please the eye? Is there a good composition with a balance of positive and negative space? Is the piece
Congratulations Dave!

Oh my! What a wonderful thread to see! Some of my greatest inspirations came from you guys and gals! Especially you, Nighttrain, my mentor extraordinaire!
Starkers - I beg to differ! And those brainiacs are just the west coast portion of this crazy conglomerate we call a family . We also have oil rig workers, construction guys, harley enthusiasts, farmers and triatheletes! I have five sisters on the prairies, one of which can strip an engine and put it back together faster and in tip top condition better than most men! She also rides a Harley. hehehe. Our family has em all! I think of my family every time I s
Right you are - a neuroscientist, to be exact. Starkers, yes, I am blessed with a very interesting family indeed! Full of super geeks and brainiacs that run the gamut of university professors/ MDs / Dentists/ informatics researchers / budding psychologists with reiki and herbal medicine degrees / artists / military strategists and beekeepers! Dinner conversations are wild - everything from the latest Sci Fi movies and books, designing a real working "tri- corder", t
Lately been watching "Big Bang Theory" because it is just too funny in that it so accurately depicts people in my life! LOL It is like watching home movies!
