My more practical reason for putting something out now is what if the direction you're taking things is bad? You'd get feedback before you'd waste too many resources. At least people are whining for the patch because they want more- it means you're going in the right direction.

I do think simpler AI is appropiate for animals and stupid monsters, even on harder levels. You're fighting wolves, not Wile E. Coyote and his family.

There are a few very key feedback items that we think should go in. While I understand your point, it seems like you keep pushing the next patch back further and further. It doesn't have to be perfect. The community would love even a small patch that fixed only the most broken things

That satisfies folks. I'm getting a little restless. This may be against the point of the bet
I think, at a minimum, shields should give an extra bonus vs arrows. That said, there's plenty of time to balance tweak things, and I can see a scenario where archery becomes better through tweaks to other things like STR.
One thing I'd like to see in this regard is some more magic techs along the lines of Book of Winds, which would unlock specific spells from strange schools. An Abjuration tech might unlock spells like Raise Resistance, Lower Resistance, and Magical Mail (all tactical/strategic spells) Advanced Abjuration might be expensive , and unlock Absorb, 250 mana spell that disables spellcasting for a unit, but grants it 90% immunity to single-target tactical magic, an

There's always going to be a demand for a big screen, and eventually a computer will be attached to it. I think , worst case scenario, PC's become the modern day DVD player/console (now console gaming I think is doomed in 10 years time or less), hooked up to the TV, and machines in the workplace. </p
I thought one of the soundtracks was lifted from GC2, so glad I'm not alone on this.
On strength, I think you've got two options: buff other stats, which would buff heroes and hurt regular units or nerf the benefits of huge strength, which would hurt melee and help mages One crazier idea: Strength bonuses to damage and dex bonuses to initiative are weapon based. May lead to a different sort of problem though.
Their brand of state capitalism is closer to fascism then communism in my eyes.
+1 to this idea. It should be implemented like how it is in Civ4.
I have another proposed idea: Split army stacking into two separate values. Military tech determines the number of mundane units you can have in a stack Quest tech (Adventuring/Exploration/Breon's Letters/etc) determines the number of heroes you can have in a stack (sovereign counts as a hero) So to get those hero stacks, you'll have to invest for it. Adventurer's Guild needs
I fully support gun rights. I don't support publicity stunt-seeking rednecks. They're a big enough blight on this state as is.
Knowing the area, and the type of folks who live in said area, I would strongly suspect that there is much more to this then what that parent is claiming. I also suspect a chance of a hoax.
I suspect now we'll see a Steam version evenutally, barring any legal liabilities preventing this. It won't be until the betas are done, and maybe a time period after that though.
One cheese tactic I thought of: Fight big monster with hero stack: wait till almost dead, escape. Then finish off with hero you want to get all the xp. Personally, I'm worried this will be unfun. Then again, straight nerfs (and that is what this is) usually are. Something needed to be done, I think we all agree on that, but I think this is going to cause folks to game the system. My preference would h
That rule can have a downside: IAt least in the past, Stardock had a rule about how higher-ups had to work more hours then the ones below them (Brad mentioned this once) . While it's understandable, I think it can lead to folks working hard instead of working smart. Crunching employees is bad for the long-term success of a project. Sometimes a short crunch is needed, if you have deadlines, but doing it over a long stretch just burns people ou

For the common masses, it's changing.
Our best hope is Brad puts something out on Friday, but I don't think this will be possible this time if the changes are as big as I think they are. Picked a bad time to get sick.
