Tested this out a bit, I can confirm: archery attacks do 0 damage in autocombat. They were doing damage just fine in tactical combat.

Noticing that archers are losing hard in autobattle in battles that they should win easily. I'm wondering if there is some sort of calculation bug. Irane+ 3 archers at full health shouldn't lose to 1 common bandit and one dog.

FE for sure won't require Steam if bought from SD Store. It's also not a MP game so no need.
Maybe Stardock could start a system for those with poor internet connection to make a DVD with all the latest updates on it, and even if there was a cost for postage, some may be thankful that they can get a physical copy. It could be like the concept of the latest patch discs that Stardock w
The next patch should rectify this at least somewhat.
One suggestion: most of these protips should be things that are in the loading screen help. Also, some loading screens are relics from War of Magic, such as neutral settlements, and as of right now don't exist in FE. One question: can you actually conquer the wildlands in .85? I never could place the monument to conquer them in .77, even when I defeated the guardian.
Why does it say .85 changelog then .80 patch? Day -1 comments: The 1000 turn limit seems pointless love the new toys added love the removal of caravans and imbue Have you guys been adding stuff between patches? It seems like some things I haven't seen before have popped up lately. Are Wildlands still bugged?

It's quite likely that by this time next year, my only choice for an ISP that isn't heavily capped will be dial-up. How much can one possibly download in one month? I mean, I have a 250GB / month cap. Most months I don't even break 10GB and the only month I went higher was in
Quoting KarmaGirl, reply 23Much rather concentrate on the game and ignore the retail politics. In the end, it's much better for the gamers. Quoting KarmaGirl, reply 24I was think art prints or posters or some collectable, personally. Could have something much cooler than a box and we could mail it direct. We'll need to see what doors open once we adjst to the "no retail" idea.<br
Quoting Alstein, reply 7I do think the concept of licensing is too one-sided in favor of developers. If you buy a game, you shouldn't have that access taken away, UNLESS your actions hurt future sales of that game (like you distribute it out for piracy) A handful of foul-mouthed neanderthals proclaiming the doom of the franchise, the company, and earth as a whole, could be construed as "hurting the future sales of that gam
The only bad thing I can think of from a lack of retail presence is getting your game into the hands of folks that haven't/don't use online distribution. And possibly a level of marketing (getting your game out into the public more). But, Elemental is more of a niche title. Sins could probably stand alone in retail since it's an RTS. What avenues will be selling these two games? Steam? Impulse? Origin?
&n
If only Bioware was private, then they could ban the folks responsible for this garbage. There is way too much misogyny is gaming. Any amount is too much obviously, but it's crazy how woman-hating many gamers are. This is something Stardock has done in the past on at least one occasion. (which was for being abusive to support) I do think the concept of licensing is too one-sided in favor of developers. If you buy
When this system happens, Gamestop will not last a decade- their business model is built on secondhand, and the way they treat folks guarantees no customer loyalty.
tation 4 and Xbox 720 will have STEAMlike ways to forever stop secondhand sales. I believe it, but am not certain.
It is rumored, at least for the 720.
Some additional comments based on other people's posts: I think poison damage should be applied as n damage every x pulses of initiative. A unit's initiative shouldn't impact poison damage. Initiative should impact attack speed, but not movement speed. If a unit acts twice as often, it should move half as quickly. Maybe that would solve the kiting issue. The downside is you add in some fuzzy math. Ma
Makes sense, honestly its only a matter of time until retail stores disappear completely in favor of digital downloads for consoles as well as pcs.
Retail is largely dead for non-mainstream PC games, so no shock here. As for consoles, I don't think they'll survive the transition to DD, but that's more a function of the horrendous business model. I suspect handhelds will replace c
I don't think UI features should be techs. One idea: have three difficulty settings World difficulty- for monster difficulty Strategic difficulty- for strategic AI Tactical difficulty- for tactical AI This way, if folks find the tactical AI unfun, they can tone it down, and if they like it, they can keep it.
They always did. Just a reminder: The tacitcal AI in your build doesn't exist. I'm really getting pissed off at some of our AI stuff. Some of it is ridiculous that we may have to tone down. A human being wouldn't be able to coordinate 4 different armies arriving at a target city in the same turn. Game sucks. Screw this!
Instead of toning it d
Was Civ 4 revolutionary? Best game in the series, but not really revolutionary. Civ 5 was revolutionary. Revolutionary games are necessary, because you can't just polish a sequel forever, but they're rarely masterpieces.

As someone who has been around since the GalCiv I days, I think WOM was a warning sign, which you caught and solved. The FE beta is looking very promising. I wouldn't call .77 a great game (yet) , but it is at the quality level I expected WOM 1.01 to be at, before playing the WOM beta. It's already decent. (BTW, my standards are kinda ridiculous, so decent is praise, it takes a lot for me to call a game good or great, so don't take it as a slam please).
If random events are added, Derek should steal from his own game design for this.
