Just had an idea that could be added in, that would be nice (though maybe a bit of work) WHy not have goodie huts or quests that spawn minor bonuses/ open up unique items you can make? Not full-fledged techs, but maybe things that unlock a bonus weapon, or improve one of your existing weapons? Example: A master fletcher's quests- you get bodkin arrows. All bow units gain a skill to ignore 25% of the opponent&

I'd rather see more races, and tweaking the machines of the current races, then something transformative. I will feel a bit underwhelmed if we only see 10 races in the expansion. I really do want to see 12. I know this is moddable, but I'm afraid I'd over/underpower races so I tend not to do it. If you really wanted transformative, Making a new FFH might work better.

One common sense switch that's diplomacy related- why is it that AI's will surrender more quickly then they sign peace treaties? That should never be the case. I don't mind the AI being stubborn in accepting peace- usually when a player asks for peace it's because they don't want to fight more. Suggestion #2- on running AI, an AI unit in tactical shouldn't run away, if it's going to be shot to death in the process
The population thign with pioneers is really nerfing the AI.
I suspected that was the culprit given how much easier the game was despite sensing general AI improvements. Is it a lack of strategies to work around this limitation that is holding you back, or is it just harder for the AI period. I do think the AI's with arcane monolith need to be using it more.&nbsp
When FE crashes, it does send us a crash report. The 1.29toad build has crashed a total of 4 times. Ironically, each time is on a different version of Windows (which implies 4 different users).
It's possible that 2 of those crashes were me on 2 different laptops ^_^. To be honest, my reasoning for saying it's improved is that the game doesn't feel like a cakewalk the way 1.2 did on fair setti

If anyone thinks there is drama between Brad and Jon at all- Kay working on both projects is probably something Brad had to approve, and he's not only done that, he's given Kay a promotion and she's now the art lead on LH. This was entirely amicable. Question- was Stardock supposed to announce something today as well, or was that just Jon? I was really hoping for a GalCiv III announce today.

I suspect the game will run DRM-free if Steam isn't running for some reason. That's probably the best solution- so if you hate Steam, you just use it to install, then play the game with Steam off.
Is this the new game Shaffer is hyping on his blog or that something total diff ?
His game gets announced today supposedly, so it's not this. It will be a strategy game. As for Steam, I would want to see you guys include a mod support system similar to Civ V since you're going Steamworks. It's often clunky to install/switch mods on Stardock games, and

Lots of good changes, some things I think will need work to see if they're good ideas, and some things I wonder if the AI will be able to handle (Brad can't do everything) Disappointed but not surprised by mandatory Steamworks, I understand the reasoning (Brad's explained it and it makes sense). I am curious how folks who are getting the freebie are going to get Steam copies. I do worry we're not going to get any more amphibious betas b

I don't think it's fair to compare Twilight to FE- Twilight is a 2nd expansion. Comparing GalCiv II vanilla to FE might be better. Also, FE was amibitious, perhaps overambitious.

I need to try this. I've pretty much been winning every game since 1.2 came out. I've suspected it's been a case of the rules favoring me more than the AI being weaker.

Some tactical suggestions a) AI should try to kill high-powered units , then heroes, then militia in priority as a general rule (with exceptions) b) archers should aim for unarmored targets, mages for armored targets c) A high def mage with thunderstrike should use thunderstrike as an area attack, especially if they have counterattacks.

One real issue with AI is that you improve but the AI doesn't, and the AI often isn't allowed to adapt to your tendencies game-to-game. Also, the more complex the game, the harder it is to do AI right. FE is a harder game to do AI for than GalCiv. The Drengin aren't going to have their dreadnoughts cast Diamondskin.
I don't think there'll be a Fallen Enchantress 2 per se. After all, it's actually called Elemental: Fallen Enchantress. Rather, the scenario I'm most comfortable with is starting with Fallen Enchantress and creating a new game. People have said nice things about Warlock without realizing that it's an evolution of Fantasy Wars / Elven Legacy. Fallen Enchantress and what we do next would ex

I don't want it, because I don't think it can work, and if it could , it would be at the cost of 2-3 features I"d want more. What I would like seeing is some random artifacts like broadswords that give bonuses beyond a normal broadsword, stuff like that. I suspect if you put it in, it would rapidly be unused by players due to being Overpowered.

I'd expect a FFH3 game to be very different from FE. I'd also like to see such a game, if it ever happened, look at some of the modmods of FFH2 and what they did right. There were plenty of major improvements from base FFH2 in a couple of them. I just don't want a MoM clone, as that idea's time has come and gone.

My vote was to expand on FE. FE has its own unique things that no other fantasy game does that could be expanded upon, there are things that could be added, and the gameplay isn't entirely there yet. My other choice would be to use the Elemental assets to make a Kohan-style RTS, but you've ruled that one out already. I really could see Elemental assets fitting well in that style of game.

I see the point of corruption getting crippling, especially in large games. The 30 pop cost isn't a bad thing, it just adjusts the early - though I think the AI has trouble with it. What would be the optimal solution is to buff high-level cities, so that not building that 2nd town and getting your city to lvl 3 fast would have real value. There are ways to do this (increased production bonus, buildings that require a higher city lvl, bui
