I noticed that the last two WB beta updates when archived by SDC are only 1K zip files which when opened contain nothing??? I am one who likes to burn the updates to CD-RW for backup and these two files do raise some questions as their usefulness should I need to do a "restore". What's the deal with these 1K .zip files?

The following question is NOT meant to be a criticism of ANY skinner but simply one which pertains to my own interest/preferences and personal use. Most WB skins come with two or more "substyles", e.g., Full and Compact Start Menu, etc. I rarely, if ever use anything other than the Full Start Menu. So, what I was wondering is if there was a feasible and easy way to remove all the unwanted substyles and just retain the one or perhaps more des
ATI Radeon 9550 Pro 256mb w/ driver version: 6.14.10.6517 (Basic drivers only) Everything seems to work fine here.
I read something about this problem elsewhere but I couldn't find it. So, I'm going to raise the issue again hoping for some input. I noticed that the cursor (CursorXP) goes underneath the Titlebar and dropdown menus with per pixel skins using WB 5.xx, e.g., "Aura". This is more than a little annoying when trying to select a menu item or click on one of the "System Buttons" (min, max, close). Is there a fix for this?? THANKS</
This small irritant was mentioned in passing by someone else in another thread and I thought I would bring it up for further possible discussion and to the notice of Stardock. First, this occurred with 4.6 and now with 5.0. More often than not, when I click on the "Start" button to open the Start Menu, the Start Menu "flickers" briefly before being displayed. The phenomena is universal, i.e., it is not skin specific although it doesn't happen 100% of the time, but perhaps 80% of the time.
Merry Christmas to you Brad, to all the Stardock staff and to the myriad people who contribute and/or visit this site. I am duly impressed by the effort put out by those who are responsible for keeping wincustomize.com running and the simply fantastic rapport Stardock has with its customers. Accept my meagre gratitude for all that you do.
This is a known glitch ... !!! Hope to get it fixed soon Thanks for letting me know. At least I know it isn't something on my system.
When I click on either the "View/Add Comments" button in the Skins and Themes section or the same item in the context menu for a skin, I get the proverbial "404 Error - Page not found". This has only happened recently as it used to work fine a week or so ago. Any ideas on what to do to try and resolved this and get this feature back? WinCustomize Browser ve
I am in the habit of adding a few subtle sounds to the system buttons (e.g., Close, Minimize, Restore, etc.) in those skins which I use most frequently. However, I'm having a problem adding to them to the new WB 5.0 skins that have come out, at least all those which I have tried. I'm not doing anything different than what I have done to dozens of other skins so I'm guessing that something else needs to be enabled in SKS. I would appreciate any help wit
Man, I hate these double-posts/replies.
I also use Perfect Disk 7.0 and have a couple of "Offline Defrags" but without any problems whatsoever. I'm curious to hear what further investigation reveals about your particular problem, just in case I run into this too at some future date.
I would think that the information displayed in the "Troubleshooting" section would be obvious enough. Your machine does not support per pixel borders on WindowBlinds skins. This is because : Your computer graphics hardware does not support acceleration of per pixel alpha. WindowBlind

First of all, I think it is great that wincustomize is still online. Like a number of others, I was a little dismayed at the lack of subscriptions that came in. However, the new "plan" will hopefully go toward remedying the problem of bandwidth usage one way or another. I also think that the restrictions on the bottom end of the scale are a little on the easy side and could have been stiffened up a bit more. Of course, it isn't like the present policy
2) How do i delete a skin that i've already downloaded? Can't find the option for that either. The option to delete an already installed skin is located in the Preview image, just below "Change Skin Colour" and above "Apply this skin now".
Thanks guys for taking the time to clarify the "problem" I was seeing and now know it isn't a WB issue. Now, on with the search to find which Toolbar icon set belongs to its respective skin. Oy vey!! hehe
The problem has been found and fixed internally. Hey! Thanks for the quick response by Stardock in resolving this problem. Just another instance of the sincere interest by the company (employees) to their customer base and reported problems. <br
bagginz asks: Hi there, do you mean when you click on a folder in the left hand treeview? Does this happen for all icl files you click on or just a specific one? Yes, when I click on a folder and then on the ".icl" file, IconPackage Explorer immediately closes. I tried this with half-dozen different ones a
When I try to view any ".icl" file in IconPackager Explorer, as soon as I click on the file in the Windows Explorer tree, the program closes. There are no error messages.... nada; it just closes. Has this problem been reported before? Any suggestions on how to proceed to fix this issue? Version: 3.00i[b].002
This question refers to the "My Toolbars" section in both WB 4.x and 5.0. When I go through the list of Toolbar icon sets, there are quite a number that are named: Default Shell Toolbar Glyphs By: Microsoft Design Team 1) All of them came with a WB skin so why isn't the name of the skin displayed like many of the others that appear in that section? 2) How can I find out what skin these sets belong to, short of loading every skin I h

Yarlen, Thanks for making things much clearer. After enabling it, I can see a little difference.
This is different from "Smart Paint". Hyperpaint uses the extra video RAM on your video card to "buffer" your windows which makes moving them on screen possible without any repainting. Thanks for replying. But could you explain what you mean by "buffering"? Would I be correct in assuming that this means the card's RAM is used first rather than using the system RAM? And I don't know what you mean in the bolded statement, re: "moving them"?? Moving what?</P

I installed a new ATI Rad. 9550 256 card and now I see that "HyperPaint" can be enabled in the WB Configuration Window in "Basic Settings/Performance". What exactly is "HyperPaint"? and is there any advantage in enabling this?
