Some interesting ideas, but not all that exciting to me. what would be exciting to me is if there were more types of Armour/equipment with defense specializations/ability boosting - more like what you find in games such as neverwinter nights or dungeonsiege. In terms of multilayer, this would make it more interesting to anticipate and counter your opponents choices - get a little bit of a 'rock paper scissors' thing going!

People unfortunately have a nasty habit of being irrational creatures, particularly when they feel wronged. When you're in the business of selling a product, you get upset with the cheaters; I get that, I totally sympathize. But I also think that DRM a

Yes 1.1 killed archers. The way the technology tree has changed for archers is crackers! Mainly because it is far easier to research the most powerful 'Yitheral' (however you spell it?) bow way sooner than basic bows themselves!! Apart from the all powerful yitheral bow in the magic tech tree, actual military bows are nothing more than a curiosity for the end of the game when you don't have anything better to research/build.

I think by now it is pretty clear to most people that DRM has evolved from it's humble beginnings as a weapon against piracy into a weapon of market dominance, control and the ultimate power of the 'closed platform'. The only thing you can do about it, is to be very careful before you buy.

No, it's not, at least for some unknown share of us who've been following the game since before the public beta builds started. One of the great ambitions for the early project was to create a viable fusion of the TBS and RPG genres. To me, that would require a sandbox mode that essentially played like an RPG
