I have two computers that I use for gaming: desktop and laptop. I probably rebuild/replace my computers once a year. I own a ton of video games. Steam makes it easy to manage the reinstalls and no more hunting for the DVD/game keys. The sales are awesome and the client is pretty good these days (in the beginning, I hated everything about it). Now having said all that, I still prefer gog.com, which does a lot of the same things

How I approach tactical is threat assessment balanced by target opportunity. Typically, I will look at the field and find the units which present the greatest danger should they be able to land an attack, spell or whatnot. That is the basic level priority list. High attack values are priority targets to hit before they can strike. High attack value targets with high defense values may be deprioritized slightly for other high attack units which might be easier to kill. <li
The hardest part of winning was that my mana and gold incomes were always low. So it took a long time to get a full group of heroes. Also, tech was pretty much a non-factor. Mana, Gildar, and Tech production should be 0 if you don't have a city. Even if you have sovereign traits that give a bonus here or there, they should require a city hub at least, or better yet other buildings like a library or merchant.
So I was reading the forums today about city-building in FE .77 being boring. So, I decided to play a whole game without building any cities and immediately razing any cities I captured. The map was large, the AI was challenging and there were 10 factions including me 5 kingdom and 5 empire. I could have probably had an easier time if I had thought about it before playing, but I just used a sovereign I already made for regular games. He starts with level 1 in all five ma
I guess I don't understand why there is such resistance to this idea. It's not something I would use (in fact, I'd love to see the opposite, a complete "hardcore" version that didn't allow for any reloading), but some people might enjoy the game more if the ability to instantly replay a bad battle was available to them. I mean, if this is included on the easiest level, or is a settable option, I don't see where the harm is. Sure, I would vote that it isn't on b

I like the idea of varying levels of cripplingness (my new made up word for the day). Some injuries should be common and minor. Some should be more severe. Also, maybe injuries should ramp up each successive time they occur: Broken nose first time is minor, but broken nose second time is somewhat worse (shattered nose) and the third time would be pretty severe (nose gone missing completely!). I'd also like to see injuries based on cause of death (if this is even possi
I guess I liked the idea of dynasties, but they weren't implemented in a way that fit my idea. If your kids could succeed you when you are killed or old and feeble, it works for me. Otherwise, it seems kind of silly.

I'm turning on my stream any time I play now. Which is at pretty random times: www.livestream.com/spleendamage I'm streaming now for an hour or so before I have to go out.
quoting post I personally love the strong monster near the starting point. It makes the early goings stressful. I think I'm in the minority there though. Raven, It's pretty easy, I did it last night for the first time in my life. Go to livestream.com set up a free account and download the client Just set it up to stream your screen and then streaming is pretty much a one button push affair The first time I was streaming at a pretty low quality, but you can adjust it up if you have decent bandwidth. livestream will record the streams too for later viewing, but as a free account the quality of the reco
I played a bit last night and my first impressions of the game were, on the whole, pretty good. My first game ended in grisly spider-death at the hands hairy legs of some arachnid general who stormed my capital city. I was also beaten repeatedly by a corpse spider who showed up during a rat quest. My next game was more successful as I managed to have a little hero army that could take on most enemy stacks I ran across. I was
Unfortunately the stored videos are in the bad quality, since I only have a free account. But the last live video feed was in HD... when it was live.
So, I read this and decided I'd try to do a live stream. I plan to play for a bit tonight, starting at about 6:30pm EST. I have downloaded the game and am planning to stream the install (that should be fun), the tutorial and then some sandbox play. I've never done a livestream anything before, so it'll likely be hot garbage and I probably will do some dumb embarrassing stuff, but you are welcome to check it out if you want. <a href="http://www.lives

It's painful enough on a medium map, but that would be a huge pain on the large map.
I prefer the largest map with most AI I can get and the slowest rates of advance for tech. I li

I agree with most of Xia's points in the thread above and I am heartened by Kael's comment that many of these (plus others are in the queue for addressing). And since this seems to be yet another thread for these sorts of things, I have some additional thoughts: I think there are too many champions. Did I really just say that? I think champions are a cool idea and I love them, but when I end up with 2 (or more ) 12 stacks of just roving champions... well, it seems a bit silly.
Updating now too! YAY!

I like the game genre, setting backdrop and source material the devs cited at the outset. I like recruiting heroes to my side. (I love that one of them is one I submitted.) I like the ability to get married and have kids (although how the rest of the whole dynasty system is implemented is pretty weak). I like the RPG aspect of the game, but it needs to be drastically expanded. I like the inclusion of tactical battles and that they are turn-based.
So this week we’re finishing the process of porting the 1.0x updates to multiplayer. The new combined version will be called v1.09E. It has a handful of single player game fixes (like the free money from pioneer thing ). After v1.09E, we’ll take a step back to see how people are playing multiplayer and start putting together plans for future improvements in that area based on the number of people in the community playing it.
Over the top idea... hmmm A spell that would destroy a city completely to bare smoking ground. Nukes are fun!
I'm still an advocate for spending DC for diplomatic actions. Stealing tech, spells, Assassinating NPCs, Destroying city improvements, etc. Works for SP, works for MP... where's the downside? Edit: grammar fixes
